Chapter 58

Rin’s Point of View

She was still in shock after she heard what Haru said. She was trying to take it all in when suddenly there was a knock on the door. The door was not locked and Rin was not interested in seeing anyone.

She was still trying to absorb everything she heard. She heard people come in but she did not lift her head up and turn towards the door. She did not know who they were until she heard the voice. The voice she had heard all her life. The voice that was always there but not quite.

It was her father.

He said, “Rin, how are you feeling?”

Rin started hyperventilating. The last time she heard this voice, she wanted to just kill herself. She closed her eyes and started taking deep breaths to calm herself. When she opened her eyes, she hoped that her father was alone.

Boy was she wrong. As soon as she lifted her head up, she saw the woman from few days back. And as soon as she saw that, she felt like all the life inside her left her body.

The woman was smiling at her and all Rin felt was horror.

Rin did not reply to her father.

Her father spoke again. But this time not to her.

“Haru right? Can you leave us alone for some time?”

This angered Rin a lot. She spoke, “Haru, there is no need to go.” Then she looked up to her father and spoke, “Say whatever you want to, he stays right here.”

As soon as she said that, the room was starting to become hot with all the tension brewing inside.
