Chapter 4: The decision

1051 Words
----- Rin’s Point of view---- After throwing her suicide letter, she walked out of the class to her next class. On the way, she did not feel good so she decided to skip the next class. She debated on going to the nurse's office or just hanging at the corner of the library by herself. It did not take her much time to opt for the latter because she was planning to die. "Why should I care that I feel sick", she thought. She walked to the library, swiping her college ID card near the entrance of the library, and walked in. She walked towards the back corner and sat on a chair. Setting an alarm in vibration mode in one and half hours, she put her head on the desk and dozed off. After exactly one and half hours, her alarm went off. She quickly turned it off and slowly lifted her head from the desk. She lazily got her bag and got up. She checked the time, it was 12:30 pm. It meant it was lunchtime. She did not feel hungry, so she skipped lunch. Time flew by and she attended her last two classes for the sake of attendance. She was feeling way off than she usually did. When the last class was finally over, she was super exhausted. After all, pretending to be okay and that everything is alright is way too exhausting. She gathered whatever energy she had left and walked out of the class to the parking area. She got to her car, started it, and drove home. On her way home, she stopped at the isolated place she stopped by in the morning for a smoke. After that, she stopped once again to buy some groceries for home. And then she went straight home. After reaching home, she cooked dinner and finally ate something for the first time that day. She was extremely exhausted and pushed away her thought to plan how she was going to die. She took her sleeping medicine and got into her bed. As she was dozing off, she whispered “One more day of living would not hurt”. And she fell asleep. ---Haru’s Point of view--- After picking up the paper, Haru went to his next class. He debated on whether to read the paper during class. After thinking for a while, he decided that he will read it after he got home. This was because some part of him did not want to know the paper’s content. Remembering the woman’s face while she wrote that, made him significantly more anxious. He reached into his pocket where the crumbled paper was, feeling secure that it was there but also nervous at the same time. But on the other hand, he also had his vision to think about. It was exhausting. Thinking intensely about two different things. He needed to find the owner of that blue car. If it was a woman’s, then the vision would be definitely about her. With all these thoughts, he did not notice that some time had passed and it was lunch break. A classmate of his who sat next to him nudged him on his arms and pointed at the clock. "It is lunchtime, class is over bro", he said. With this action, Haru snapped back into reality and realized that he was hungry. "Thanks, bro", Haru muttered to his classmate, picked up his bag, and walked towards the cafeteria. After selecting what to eat, he walked towards his group of classmates to sit down and eat. While walking, his eyes unconsciously searched for the woman from his first class. He could not find her. He reached the bench and started eating. After he was done, he walked with his classmates to an area on the campus where they always smoke. He felt a little relieved and relaxed after a smoke even though he had thoughts about his vision and the woman from the morning. He reached into his pocket, knowing the crumbled paper is still there, but still reached into it and felt it anyways. After that, he went back to his remaining classes. There were two classes left, and he tried to focus on the lectures and succeeded in focusing. He took notes and listened to the lecture. After his classes were over and as he walking towards the parking, his phone rang. He checked to see who was calling and it was his mother. “Yes, mom”, Haru said as soon as he picked up. "Sweetie, can you buy some eggs and toothpaste on your way home. I went out to buy groceries, but I forgot those" She said from the other side of the call. “Okay mom, I will buy those”, he said and ended the call. He went to the parking area and went to where his car was parked. As he was nearing his car, he felt like he could not breathe and like he was losing his balance. He could not believe what he was seeing. The woman from his first-class was getting into the blue car and starting the car. He felt like there was a needle in his throat. So this woman was the owner of this car, which meant this woman was going to die. He felt like he had to do something. As he watched her drive away, something in him screamed to not let her die. At this moment, he decided. He decided to do everything within his power to save this woman. He usually did not care about other people and minded his own business. But with this woman, the first and the most important thought in his mind was to save her. Why was he feeling these intense emotions for a woman he did not even know? Why was he so determined to not let her die? Why was he ready to go through all the probable troubles that will come for this unknown woman? Was it because of the vision? Or was it something else? Despite all these thoughts, the one thing he knew was that he decided to save this woman and he will do it no matter what the consequences.
