I woke up feeling anxious today, wondering why my heart was beating so fast.
I told myself that I was probably just anxious because I had to go meet with the kitchen staff and pack members.
Anna had told me that today was a practical class, so I headed to the living room and found Sebastian frying eggs.
"Is everything okay, Sebastian?" I asked.
"Yes, everything is fine. Why do you ask?" he responded.
I told him that I just had a feeling that something was wrong.
He came over and hugged me, reassuring me that nothing was wrong.
After we finished eating some bread, eggs, and hot chocolate, I went to take a bath so I wouldn't be late.
When I arrived at the kitchen, the staff were discussing what the pack would have for breakfast.
"Hello, Luna. What brings you here?" one woman asked when she saw me.
"I just wanted to offer my support. Is that okay?" I asked.
"That's fine, thank you, Luna," she replied.
They decided to make spaghetti for breakfast, and when I asked if there was anything I could do to help, they said no.
I helped them cook and serve the food before the pack members started arriving.
Afterwards, I went to the pack house to meet some of the members.
I knocked on a door and a young lady opened it, surprised to see me. "What brings you here, Luna?" she asked.
I noticed she was pregnant, so I asked her how far along she was.
She said she was five months and the pup would be coming out soon.
As werewolves, we don't carry pregnancies for nine months like humans, but for seven.
I asked her where her mate was, and she told me he was out on his shift as a pack guard.
I stayed with her for a while before I left, making a mental note to bring her some baby clothes and toys.
I visited three more houses and was welcomed warmly.
Finally, I decided to pay Helen a visit since I hadn't been there since I became a Luna. "Hello, Luna," she said as soon as she opened the door.
"Enough with the Luna title," I said with a smile. "So, how has Luna been for you?" she asked. I told her
it wasn't as bad as I had imagined and that I had just come back from meeting with the pack members.
We talked for a while before I had to leave, but before I did, I told her she could always come visit me and she promised she would.
As I was heading back to my house, I thought to myself, "Finally, I have a place to call home."
Suddenly, I heard the sound of someone crying and sniffling.
I looked around and saw a boy crying. I moved closer to him and knelt down to his level.
"What's wrong, buddy?" I asked him, but he didn't respond. "What's your name?" I asked again, but he still stayed silent.
So, I just kept rubbing his back and trying to calm him down until he stopped crying.
When I finally got a good look at him, I noticed his eyes were red and puffy, which meant he had been crying for a while.
I asked him what was making him cry, and he mumbled some incoherent words.
"I didn't catch that, so can you please talk a bit slower?" I said to him, and he nodded his head.
"People are making fun of me because I don't have a wolf and I don't have any friends," he said, sobbing.
I hugged him tightly, and it made me remember how things used to be for me.
"You're not any different from the other wolves, okay? Let's just say you're a bit different, but you're special. I'm sure your wolf is just waiting for the perfect time to bloom," I said to him.
I told him to ignore all the voices calling him names and to focus on being happy.
I wished someone had told me this when I was going through a tough time.
I wished someone had done something, even just a small gesture like a hug, to tell me that everything would be alright.
I told him that I was once like him, and that I got my wolf when I was 18. His eyes widened in surprise.
"So, I'll still get my wolf, right?" he asked. "Yes, you will," I answered with a smile. "Thank you, Luna," he said before running off.
"What a day," I sighed. "Snow, would you like to go for a quick run?" I asked her.
"I never say no to running," she replied, and I smiled. We went into the woods and I shifted.
Snow ran into the woods at full speed, as usual. "Snow, calm down," I said to her, but she didn't listen.
Suddenly, Snow started to slow down. "What's wrong?" I asked her. "Something feels off," she said.
She started to look around, checking if everything was okay, but she saw nothing.
"I think we should go back home. I just feel like something is wrong somewhere," she said.
Snow ran back to where I had hidden my clothes and I changed back to my human form.
"Not so fast, Luna," I heard a guy's voice. I looked around and saw that I had been ambushed.
I tried to mind linking Sebastian, but it wasn't going through. "What is going on?" I asked myself.
These guys surrounded me and I started to fight. It was today that my training paid off.
I tried fighting effortlessly until I became numb and was unable to feel anything.
I couldn't move my legs and arms to fight anymore. I looked back and saw a guy injecting me.
My eyes were becoming blurry, but I made sure I tried the mind linking again and, even though it was faint, I sent a message to Sebastian.
And before I knew it, everything turned black.
