Not a couple

2069 Words
Jason forgot his phone, and halfway to the office, he had to turn around. He never thought Victoria would show up at his apartment today. He walks faster as he hears Victoria scream at Jayda. Jason does not like Victoria thinking she can play boss over him. Why is she shouting at Jayda? He hopes he is not too late. "Can't handle the truth, Miss Ward? Shouldn't you be married by now and have children?" Jayda says. Victoria sees Jason coming around the corner and bursts out in tears. She is a good actress, and she can turn her tears on and off as she likes. "I don't understand why you have to be so mean to me. I was just trying to introduce myself. I did not know you were so jealous of Jason and your friendship with him." Victoria says innocently while taking out a tissue from her bag as she does not want to ruin her make-up. "Wow, you are a good actress. However, you insulted me and accused me of being Jason's lover and implied that he bought the apartment for me. I am Dante Hudson's daughter. Do you think I need a lover to buy me anything? Next time you want to throw your phone around because your boyfriend is not home, don't throw it at my door." Jayda says. "What is going on here? Victoria, is what Jayda said true?" Jason asks. He looks at Jayda's angry face and knows he will have difficulty making friends with her. "Jason, you know I will never say something that can harm you or your image. Besides, if your image gets ruined, so will mine." Victoria says with a sad look. Jayda claps her hands. "You should have a lot of Oscars, Miss Ward. Your acting skills are brilliant." Jayda says again, knowing that Victoria never got an Oscar and that it is something she hates being mentioned in front of her. "Jayda, please, you are not making this better with your sarcasm." Jason says. He is not in the mood for Victoria crying on his shoulder all night. He wants to go to Jayda's housewarming party, and he does not want Victoria hanging around him all night. "Fine. I will hold my trap but tell your girlfriend to keep her opinion of us to herself! When we were younger, Jason and I used to be friends, but we are not even friends anymore, so you have nothing to worry about, Miss Ward! So goodbye and enjoy your night with Jason." Jayda says as she walks into her apartment and closes the door. Jason wanted to explain to her that he did not mean to offend her and that he only said it to keep Victoria away from him for the night. "Well, you heard what your old friend had to say. Are we going to enjoy the night together?" Victoria asks seductively and puts her arms around Jason. Jason takes her arms away from him and looks at Victoria. "I am working late tonight. Go home and get some rest or call your friends and go out with them." Jason says as he unlocks his apartment, grabs his phone and walks out, closing his apartment door before Victoria can invite herself in. He does not wait for her as he runs down the stairs without waiting for the elevator and drives to his office. "So we used to be friends? She does not see me as a friend anymore?" Jason thinks as he drives to the office. "I guess I am then not welcome at her housewarming party. I might as well work all night." Jason says to himself when he stops at his office. The security guard greets him, and Jason nods to him. Then he stops in his tracks. "Dave, don't let Miss Ward into my office again. She is not welcome here anymore." Jason says. "Okay, boss." Dave says and thinks that it is about time Jason got that woman out of his life. She was making trouble and playing boss in this office long enough. However, not long after Jason gets to his office, Victoria shows up, and the security will not let her in. "Who do you think you are to not let me in? Do you know who I am? I will call Jason and let him fire you on the spot." Victoria screams. She is putting on a scene as the paparazzi are following her, and she wants them to know she has a say in Jason's work and private life. "You can call Mr Morgan as it is on his instruction that we are not allowed to let you in, Miss Ward." Dave says, and he makes sure the paparazzi hear him. He is sick of this woman who thinks she is his boss. Victoria calls Jason, and Jason answers as he knows what it is all about. He also called the security at his apartment and told them that Victoria was no longer welcome to come to his apartment. "Jason, honey, your security was getting out of hand. They won't let me into the building." Victoria says, and she keeps her phone on the loudspeaker as she thinks that Jason will never keep her out of his office. For years she came and went as she liked. So why would he block her now? "I told them you are no longer welcome here, Victoria. I told you years ago we are only friends and nothing more." Jason says. But unfortunately, Victoria was too late to take the phone off the loudspeaker, and the paparazzi heard it. "Miss Ward, we thought you and Mr Morgan were more than friends. Didn't you say we got an invite to your wedding a few weeks ago?" One of the media that is following her asks. "We had a little misunderstanding, nothing to worry about." Victoria tries to save the situation. "Mr Morgan said he told you years ago you are only friends." The same reporter says. They all heard it. "You heard wrong." Victoria says as she tries to make her way to her car, but the reporters are relentless and will not let her go. She is bombarded with questions until she feels like she will cry. Then, at last, she gets a gap as her agent comes to her aid and helps her to her car. "Victoria, what happened?" Caroline Black, Victoria's agent, asks. She thought Victoria and Jason had been a couple for years and that Jason would eventually marry her. However, Caroline knows that Victoria never was a good actress, and Victoria was only world-renowned because of Jason Morgan and the fact that he used her as a model for his series of a game he makes. The gamers only liked her films as they liked Jason's games, and she only got parts in films as Jason knows the Hudson family well. They only gave her leading roles because Jason and everyone in the entertainment industry knew it. Enzo Hudson is the boss of the most significant entertainment business in LA, and he is friends with Jason and the Morgan family. "It is that Hudson w***e! She is the one that put Jason up to this." Victoria says, and Caroline sees the ugly lines on Victoria's face. "Who are you talking about?" Caroline asks. "Jayda Hudson, she is back in town. Years ago, she was only sixteen when she left, and I could see Jason liked her back then, but she was too young for him. He wasted my youth, and now he thinks he can throw me away like trash? I will not let that happen, and he and that little w***e will pay!" Victoria says. "I do not think it is good to mess with the Hudsons. You still have the lead in one of their upcoming films. Forget about Jason. I will arrange a date with a very wealthy man." Caroline tries to calm Victoria down. "I do not want anyone else but Jason! He owes me! I gave him my youth, and now he is going after a younger girl." Victoria says. She is upset and wants to go home to think about how she can get revenge on Jayda and win Jason back. "The Hudson Family is mighty, Viccy. Do not mess with them." Caroline warns Victoria again, but Victoria is already thinking about something, and she will not let it go. She will make Jayda pay. She does not care if it destroys her career as long as she gets Jason back. "I want to go home. I need some rest and make an appointment at the beauty parlour. Tell them I want a complete treatment with Botox and everything. I am not going to let a young girl take my man." Victoria says, and Caroline can only shake her head. When Victoria gets home, she sees the social media talking about her being chased away from Jason's office. Jason also changed the model in his new game. He is no longer using Victoria. Instead, a beautiful young girl is now on the game's cover. She looks young and fresh. Jason changed it in less than an hour. The gamers that follow Victoria on Twitter, f******k and other social media platforms are all excited about the new cover. Victoria goes to the link for the new cover and almost has a heart attack when she sees the face of the new cartoon girl on the game's cover. It looks precisely like Jayda Hudson! "Wow, I wonder if she is Jason's new girlfriend? I heard he told Victoria Ward off today." One gamer commended. "Yeah, about time Jason changed Bluebell's face. Victoria is getting too old to be a model for a game." Another one commend. "Bluebell looks good, much better than the old Bluebell." Another one says. Victoria throws her other phone against the wall as she has already broken one today. "We will see who is old and who is not!" Victoria screams and starts smashing things in her house. In his office, Jason and his team fixed the glitch in no time and replaced Bluebell's face with the new look in the new game. He told his team to go home at five. Jason is torn in two. Should he go to the party, since Jayden and Jack invited him, or should he stay in his office and work? Jason gets up and walks out of his office. f**k it. He was invited, and he wants to see Jayda again. He knows Victoria will not give up that easily, but he will handle her when he has to. For now, he wants to see Jayda again and make friends with her again. He will have to win her friendship before he can win her heart. He might as well start tonight. Jason gets home and takes a shower when he hears his front door open. He knows only his sister has a key to his apartment. "Hi bro, where are you? We have a party to attend." Cathy shouts from the living area. "In the shower. I will be there in a few minutes." Jason shouts from the shower. Cathy waits for her brother, and when he comes out of the shows. It has been a long time since she saw her brother wear casual clothes. "Wow, look at you. You look ready to party, and you are not wearing a suit. Since when do you have such big muscles, or were you just hiding them under those suit jackets?" Cathy asks. She looks at her brother proudly. He is tall and handsome, well-built, and every girl's dream. Well, not her dream but every other girl's dream. "Yeah, well, I will mingle with many young people. Might as well dress like them." Jason says dryly. "Hahahaha, like you are old." Cathy laughs at her brother. "Let's go." Jason says, and he walks across the hallway and knocks on the door. Jayda opens and almost drops her glass as she sees Jason in jeans and a t-shirt. Damn! The man is hot. She quickly pulls herself together and greets him and Cathy. She invites them in and gives them drinks. Jason walks over to Jayden and Jack. He first needs to find out why Jayda is so mad at him before he attempts to make friends with Jayda again.
