Chapter 9: meeting the parents

1146 Words
Lola POV: We arrived at the hospital. Blake stopped the car near the entrance so it’s not that far to walk. I put my arm around his neck as he picked me up. As much as I hate to admit it, I loved how he carried me around. I felt so safe in his arms not that I would ever tell him that. He walked inside and put me in one of the chairs in the waiting room. The moment he let me go I felt the absence of his warm body. I wanted him close to me even if he infuriates me. I saw one of the nurses walked up to him and they started talking. I couldn’t hear much, I only heard my name. Blake walked over to me and sat down next to me. “The doctor will be here soon, he’s just busy with another patient.” He said as he slouched in his seat. “Okay.” I said as I pick up a magazine to read while we’re waiting. “I wanted to apologize for hurting you Lola.” He said looking at me with those beautiful ocean blue eyes. I could get lost in his eyes. “It’s okay. I shouldn’t have tried to knee you in the stomach in the first place then I wouldn’t have gotten hurt.” I said putting down my magazine. “Don’t apologize Lola it’s my fault for making you angry to begin with.” He said. “Let’s not talk about it anymore. It happened and there is nothing we can do about it.” I said as I pick up my magazine again. The doctor came shortly after, to take me for ex-rays. “Hello I’m doctor Dunbar. I’ll be looking at your leg.” He said.   He had brown hair and green eyes. “Hello doctor, so how are we going to approach this?” Blake asked sanding up from his seat. “Well, we’ll be taking he for ex-rays to see the damage and then I’ll asses the situation from there.” He said, Blake nodded and picked me up. He put me down on the cold table and exited the room. “Lie very still please.” The doctor said over the intercom. I laid still looking at the celling waiting for the ex-ray machine to finish. A few minutes later the doctor entered the room with Blake right behind him. “Your leg doesn’t look broken it’s just badly bruised. You’ll need to stay off it for a few days to let it heal.” He said looking at me and Blake. “Thank you, doctor.” Blake said, picking me up from the table. “If you need anything else don’t hesitate to let me know.” The doctor said just before we left. Blake put me in the car and drove me home. When we got to my house, he took me straight to my room and put me on the bed. He put a pillow under my leg to keep it elevated and fluffed my other pillow before placing it behind my head. “Thank you for this.” I said laying back on my bed. “It’s not a problem. I hope you’re not expecting me to leave.” He said giving me a goofy grin. “Well you don’t have to stay.” I said looking him in the eyes. “I want to stay. I hurt you now I need to take responsibility for that and help you get better.” He explained to me. “Okay you win, but you need to get my parent’s permission to stay with me.” I said to him. “I’ll talk to them when they get home.”  He said. He sat down on the bed next to me and gave me the remote for the TV. I put on a movie to watch while we wait for my parents. Blake POV: I carried her from my car to her bedroom and placed het on her bed. I fluffed her pillow and put a pillow under her leg to keep it elevated. “Thank you for all this.” She said laying back on her bed. “It’s not a problem. I hope you’re not expecting me to leave.” I said as I smile at her. She smiles back “Well you don’t have to stay.” She says blushing ever so slightly. “I want to stay. I hurt you now I need to take responsibility for that and help you get better.” I say to her “Okay you win, but you need to get my parent’s permission to stay with me.” She says. “I’ll talk to them when they home.” I said sitting down next to her on the bed. I gave her a remote for the TV and she put on a movie. I laid down next to her and put my arm under her head when the movie started. About 30 minutes into the movie Lola fell asleep. She looks so peaceful when she’s sleeping. ‘She really is breath taking.’ I say to my wolf Jay. ‘Yes she is.’ I move some fallen hairs out of her face and putting them behind her ear. I hear a car stop and I know it’s her parents. The front door opens and they walk in. I can hear them talking down stairs. “Lola you home yet?” Her mother asks. I get up to go and greet them before they come upstairs and find me cuddling with their daughter while she’s asleep. I remove myself from under her. She curls up into a ball already missing my warmth and touch. I walk downstairs and into the kitchen. Her father is sitting in by the counter busy on his phone while her mom is busy with dinner. “Hello misses and mister Black. I’m Blake a friend of your daughter’s.” I say. They both look at me with smiles. “Hello Blake, Where’s Lola?” Misses Black asks. “She’s in her room sleeping, she hurt her leg today at the gym so I brought her home and put her in bed.” I say as I sit down at the kitchen counter. “How did she hurt her leg and is she okay?” Misses Black asks with a worried tone. “We were sparring and she tried to knee me in the stomach and must have done the move wrong and injured herself. She’s fine her leg is just badly injured but not broken.” I say looking a them. “Thank you for bringing her home and staying with her till we got back” Misses Black said. “I was hoping it would be okay if I stay with her for a few days since she got hurt sparing with me?” “Yes that’s fine, but no funny business while you’re alone at home with our daughter.” Mister Black said. “No sir nothing like that.” I say trying to stop the conversation there. “Good, as long as we understand each other.” He said looking me dead in the eyes.  I nodded and he continued on his phone.
