Chapter 3: the birthday

Lola POV:

The bell rang and everyone went to class. The classroom was buzzing, you know more than usual. Me and Sara walked in and took our seats. Sara asked the girl sitting next to her what all the commotion is about. She said that everyone is talking about Blake’s 18th birthday party. Sara rolled her eyes and replied coldly, “Okay.” “Are we skipping this thing and having a movie night?” I asked smiling. “Definitely.” She said.

*THE DAY OF THE PARTY*

Blake POV:

I woke up early that morning, excited because today I meet her, my mate. I got out of bed and went to take a warm shower. I put on a pair of jeans and a black V-neck shirt. I looked in the mirror at my refection as I brushed my raven black hair. I went downstairs when Martin my Bata came in. He had on a dark blue shirt with a black jean. ”Happy birthday bro.” He said. “Are you excited to meet your mate?” he asked. “That’s a stupid question, I can’t wait to meet her.” I said half irritated that he would ask such a stupid question. “I wonder who it’ll be?” he said. “I hope it’s not Abbie or one of her gang, I don’t want one of those sluts as my mate.” I said. He nodded. We left my house and headed for school. When we arrived Abbie and her group were waiting for us. Abbie ran into my arms and put her arms around my neck. She gave a long slobbery kiss. “After tonight I’ll officially be your mate. I’m so excited.” She said smiling. I just nodded. “What about we skip school today for your birthday?” She asked. I agreed. We got in my mustang and left school to go to the mall.

Lola POV:

I got up and went to take a warm shower. I got dressed in a white shirt and blue jeans. I went downstairs and grabbed a piece of toast and left for school. Today Sara and I were planning our movie night. I already choose 5 movies to watch: Red Riding Hood, The kissing booth, Snow white and the Huntsman, Journey 2 the mysterious island and Faster. Sara said she’ll also bring 5 of her favourite movies over, and we will watch them all. I got to school and Sara was waiting for me at the main gate, we walked to class. Everyone was talking about Blake’s party and how it’ll be the social gathering of the year. The bell rang and we started our day.

 It as a regular Wednesday: 1st period: Accounting

              2nd period: English

               3rd period:  Afrikaans

                4th period: Business studies

               5th period: Mathematics

              6th period: Economics

              7th period: Accounting

We met at the main gate after school, and walked to my house. Sara had a small red backpack with clothes and movies. We got to my house and went straight to my room, my parents were still at work and my brother was at a friends house. Sara threw her red bag on the bed and unpacked. She took out a pink shirt and a blue jean, for tomorrow and a purple long sleeve shirt and wool pants for pj’s. it’s only 16:00 but we decided to take a shower and change into our pj’s so that we can only watch movies for the rest of the day. I went first. I took out my pink long sleeve shirt and a pink cotton pants, and walked into the bathroom. I opened the tap and waited for the water to get warm before getting in. I washed my hair, got out and got dressed. I walked into my room and Sara was busy getting her stuff ready so she could shower. I placed all the movies on the bed and we decided to watch Red Riding Hood first. I put the movie on while Sara went to shower, and I made a bowl of popcorn

Sara POV:

I woke up as my alarm was beeping. I put it off and got out of bed. My long blond hair was a mess. I walked in to the bathroom, and I splashed my face with cold water so I could wake up. I brushed my hair and went downstairs for my morning coffee, nobody was home except me. I had toast for breakfast and went to get dressed. I put on a pink tank top and a short jean. I went to school and waited for Lola. She arrived wearing a white shirt and jeans. The day was just a regular Wednesday. We went to her house after school. Her house was a two-story brick house with modern windows. We went to her room, it was a big room with a double bed against the far wall and a built in bathroom. While she went to shower, I unpacked my clothes and the movies I brought. When she was finished I went to shower while she put in Red Riding Hood. The bathroom was average size with black and white tiles. I put my clothes on the floor and got into a warm shower. I got out and got dressed. I walked back into the room. Lola was already in bed with a bowl of popcorn. I got in next to her and we watched movies, ate popcorn and chocolate all night long. We only went to bed when the sun came up and slept the whole Thursday trough. Luckily school was closed. We got up at around 3 pm. We went downstairs and made hot chocolate.

L: “Thank you for coming over.”

S: “Anytime, I had a great time. You have good taste in movies.”

L: “Thank you, so do you. What do you think happened at the party last night.”

S: “All the kids got drunk and cheated on their boyfriends or girlfriends, you know the usual. Why do you ask?”

L: “No reason.”

S: “Well we will definitely be hearing a lot of stories at school tomorrow.”
