" I should probably go check the garden"

Maya was heading out of the living room when she heard a phone ring on the table she went towards the phone and found out it was James phone but that wasn't what mattered at the moment but the fact that Lucy seems to be calling him the ringing stopped and a message popped up " am heading towards the hotel now" " hotel?" the phone was sundenly snatched from her hand

" what is wrong with you I said never touch my things" Maya turned towards James" sorry it was ringing I didn't mean to touch" " whatever I have some where to go" he left Maya watched him leave

but Lorenzo came in immediately

" Ms Maya you look beautiful as always

good morning" she smiled " and you look just as handsome good morning how's your day" " navigating through life Ms Maya " Maya laughed a little" what? you are quite funny" " am glad that you find it funny" " so do you have something you want to give to me you are holding an envelope"

he came a little closer to her and lower his voice " yes actually your mom told me to give this to you" he handed her an envelope she collected it she was about to open it but was stopped by Lorenzo

" I don't think you should do that here you know non sai chi potrebbe guardare"

" right I think I will go upstairs" " good day Ms Maya" he bowed and left

Maya went to her room and locked the door she sat down on her bed and opened the envelope there was a piece of paper inside and small phone

" why will mom give me a cell phone"

her phone rang and the caller was her mom she picked it " hello mom" " hello Maya how you doing" " am fine I have gotten what you sent but why did you send a cell phone along with it"

" well you are going to need it" " why I already have a phone" " Maya trust me you are going to need it now I need you to store all the information on that paper In that cellphone do not use it untill necessary okay" " but why "

" just do as I say and also keep it in a very safe place where no one can find it at all " " okay I will do as you say"

" good are you sure you are okay"

" yes uh mom I have something to ask"

" sure what is it" " why didn't you tell me you where once engaged to someone called Chris Ryan"

there was a long silence on the other end of the phone Maya checked if the call got disconnected but it was still going on

" hello? mom are you still there"

" yes Maya am here how did you know that" " I did some research because his daughter well is supposedly fond of James so I did some research about her and got to that point" " he's daughter?

this is not good" " why what's wrong "

" Maya I will talk to you later okay I need to do something urgently" " wait don't go yet answer me first" but the call was already disconnected Maya sighed in frustration " why won't she tell me anything we are suppose to tell each other everything" she looked at the paper

an address, phone number and a car number was written on it " so this must be Jason's details then better save it"

she saved it and hid the phone

she decided to take a nap but her mind was preoccupied with alot of things she can't explain.

Maya woke with a knock on her door she went to the door and opened it she met a maid standing " Ms Maya dinner is ready would you like it served in your room or at the dinner table" " dinner? I slept till dinner time" " yes you slept for that long we actually thought you were dead or something " this caught Maya off guard

but the maid laughed about it Maya was still surprised " I was joking but I did knock to call you for lunch but you said you were okay and you weren't hungry I knew you were still asleep when you said that but I didn't want to disturb you"

" oh okay I will be down in a minute"

" okay" she left Maya closed her door and thought of what the maid said

" dead?" she shook her head " so many things are messing with my head i shouldn't think too much about it she was only joking" she went downstairs to have her dinner it was late and she haven't heard from James she decided to ask a maid who was heading towards the kitchen " hey is James back"

" yes Ms Maya he's in his room"

" okay" she stood up and went upstairs but she decided to stop by James room

she knocked but there was no response she did it twice but still no response she decided to enter she opened the door and entered she couldn't find James anywhere in the room his phone rang she picked and saw it was Lucy " what's her deal" she answered it " James are you coming over tommorow also let's continue from where we left off hello why aren't you saying anything " the phone was snatched out of her hand and the call got disconnected Maya met James angry face " I.." she was immediately slapped " why don't you do as I say don't touch my phone don't touch anything that belongs to me " Maya looked at him

with no fear this time but anger

" why can't I touch your phone so that I won't find out that you are cheating on me is that why I knew something was going on between both of you"

" so what are you going to do about it I have said so many times we are not a couple so stop behaving like we are you don't have business with me"

this made Maya angry "then why on earth did you marry me if you know you don't lov me " James smirked

" why? because a little princess head was filled with fantasies so I decided to turn that fantasies into a nightmare you don't like it too bad cause I don't care I haven't beaten you for a long time now right yes that's why you can do all these I won't be lenient next time now get out"

he held her tightly by the hand and threw her out of the room and slammed the door she went to her room " no I won't cry he is not worth it since I know he is cheating on me with Lucy then they both must be up to something" .

Maya was lying on her bed staring at the ceiling she heard a knock on the door

" yes" " ms Maya breakfast is ready"

she sighed she doesn't have the appetite for that right now " okay" she she stood up and went downstairs but she came across the same maid from yesterday that called her for lunch " good morning Ms Maya " she greeted with a cheerful voice " morning? you seem quite cheerful today " " yes actually something marvelous happened so am just so excited" " I see well that's good"

" thank you have a nice day "

" thanks" Maya thought to herself

" what unusual cheerful behavior today while am struggling to balance my life oh how life is so cruel" she went to the dining table and was met with a very delicious looking Italian food

" wow they outdid themselves today I shouldn't put this to waste" she sat down and started but suddenly the dining room. door was opened aggressively there stood a fuming James Maya looked at she became scared all of a sudden James haven't been this angry like this since the time she mistakenly poured coffee on his newly bought tuxedo she started immediately stood up and started walking back slowly " j..James what's wrong" he walked towards her with aggressive and quick steps he grabbed her hands tightly " what's wrong? I will tell you what's wrong" he dragged to his room and slammed the door shut and locked the door he threw her to ground

he shouted at her " you had your mom install cameras to watch me?"

this surprised Maya " w..what n..no that's not.." James picked her up and held her by her neck " how dare you both of you "

Maya was chocking on the hold james had on her neck " ja..mes plea..se s..stop

I can't brea..the" James ignored her

" what do you think was going to happen when you did it am going to teach you the lesson you will live to remember"

he threw her to the ground Maya gasped for air James slapped her and started hitting her Maya cries could be heard

Lorenzo and a few maids stood outside the room but there was nothing they could do and that made Lorenzo angry

after sometime James left Maya alone while she was lying on the floor almost lifeless she couldn't move James bent down we are leaving tommorow so start packing you will never speak with your mom your phone will be with me and I will make sure that I keep a close eye on you he stood up and left the room he slammed the door on his way out maya cried even her tears causes pain to her she curled up and cried deeply.
