Maya stood facing the servants she was leaving Italy earlier than expected due to what happened the previous day she smiled at them but her eyes were filled with sadness she looked at Lorenzo who could not face her she walked up to him

" so I am leaving take care okay " Lorenzo did not give an answer

" Lorenzo are you okay?" tears fell out of his eyes Maya hugged him " I failed you miss Maya please forgive me "

" failed me? no you didn't who would have thought that James would find out "

she looked at him " you did your best and your best was enough come visit if you can okay " Lorenzo nodded his eyes she went outside where James was waiting for her " took you long enough let's get going" she got into the car and looked outside the window and smiled the car drove off " well my doom is about to begin definitely ".

They arrived back home it was late and Maya was feeling exhausted coupled with the incident of yesterday that she was still healing from what she needed right now was her bed but James had other ideas " where are you going"

she was stopped by James on her way to her room " well actually am tired so I was going up to my room" James sighed tiredly " look I am expecting a guest and i want you to cook dinner "

" a guest? it's late and..."

" look Maya I really don't have time for this so can you just do what I say"

Maya was already tired so she just went along with it " sure" James went upstairs while Maya went to the kitchen .

The door bell rang and Maya was just done cooking she went to the door and opened it " hiiiiii" " Lucy? what are you doing here IN MY HOUSE" " well I was invited" she walked passed Maya into the house " I didn't invite you in "

" I know you don't have to "

" look you still haven't told me why you are here" Maya was running out of patience and Lucy is not helping matters

" where is James ?" " can you leave"

" that is not the what I wanted to hear"

" I don't care leave" " feisty now are we you know I don't like you right "

" and I still do not care "

" you are here " James said while he came down from the stairs

" hi good evening how was trip "

" good" Maya was quite confused

" um I am still here and I would like to know what is going on" " she is the guest

she would be spending the night here"

Maya was surprised " sorry what ?"

" Maya I know you heard me bring the food upstairs" " you have to be kidding me no no no no if you guys want to do whatever it is you guys do can you do it somewhere else not here " James walked up to her "No anything else"

Maya didn't respond " I don't think so"

they left " talk about audacity"

Maya stood in front of James room holding a tray she knocked on door

Lucy opened it " look who is finally here took you long enough " Maya rolled her eyes and looked at her she was wearing a short night dress " I look good right"

" yeah yeah whatever take this" she gave the tray to Lucy " you must feel bad right Maya" Maya laughed " yeah sure you can have my trash" Lucy looked at her confused " what ?" " nothing go on now don't keep him waiting" she left and went to her room " finally some resting time"

Maya woke up feeling extremely exhausted " great another day with him I wonder what today holds" she got up and got ready she went downstairs and found the house very quiet

" has she gone I don't care I just don't want to run into her " she was about to go into the kitchen but James came in from his morning exercise Maya thought to herself " oh he is here great"

" maya" " yes" " let's have dinner tonight "

this came as a surprise to Maya

" uh okay what would you want to eat"

" no we are going out" " out?" " just do as I say so get ready by seven we are leaving " he left Maya kept thinking of why James suddenly thought of them having dinner together " well this is the first time let's see how this goes"

it was time and Maya is sitting in front of the mirror staring at it " it would have made me happy if I didn't get married to James and made to live like this dinner with James would be horrible just like everything else" " Maya!" Maya sighed heavily " May the worst happen"

Maya kept on thinking where they were heading to as she watched many restaurants pass by them they have been driving for sometime now

" James where are we going to"

" a restaurant where else"

"I know but like we have passed so many good restaurants so am confused"

James didn't give an answer to her Maya decided to let it go .They arrived at a very fancy restaurant they both got down

" let's go in " both of them went into the restaurant the door was opened by a door ma who greeted them warmly

James met with a receptionist who showed them their table " have a good evening sir" she said before leaving they both took their sits Maya looked around

" wow it's an Italian restaurant but why here" " because you like it" he said while scanning through the menu

" because I like it?" " yes now order something this is getting tiring already"

Maya scanned through the menu there where so many delicacies they both ordered and started eating but Maya knew something was definitely going on James would definitely not just go out to dinner with her are thoughts were Interrupted with whispers from other people in the restaurant "they are doing a bad job keeping it low what's going on by the way" she looked towards the entrance of the restaurant and was surprised to see Jason with some few men they went to the other side of the restaurant " good he is here " " uh Jason? what about him" James stood up

" let's go " " go to where " " to meet them of course" she stood up and both of them walked towards the men their conversations died down with their presence James greeted them

" good evening gentlemen" one of the men responded " good evening Mr Claude it's good to see you have a sit "

" sure " James and Maya took their sits Maya was directly opposite Jason which was not helping with the look on his face

another man spoke " so who is this beautiful lady beside you Mr Claude"

" yes this is my wife " he held her hand

" she is the most beautiful thing that ever happened to me " Maya looked at him in surprise " she works with me in the company without her the company would have fallen I really love her" Maya thought to herself " wow such a poet why is he saying all this " she looked at Jason who had a smirk on his face " why on earth is he smirking what is wrong with these men" the men at the table laughed " wow you really love her " " I do Maya is the best" maya looked at him in disgust

Jason finally spoke " it's good to hear you love your wife but let's get down to business now shall we" the meeting started and Maya was really interested in what was being said but most of the times were just filled with her making eye contact with Jason and him smiling at her " yes he is crazy" the meeting ended and everyone started leaving James

shook hands with Jason " good night Mr Lee" Jason took his hands " same Mr Claude and to you Miss Maya"

he then left James left immediately leaving Maya behind they left the restaurant the ride home was very quiet and Maya noticed that James was not in a good mood. They got home Maya decided to ask him " James are you okay you don't look fine" " no I am not okay Jason Lee I hate " Maya was surprised to hear that " why " " I just hate him Miss Maya he didn't refer to you as Mrs Claude" " so" " so he doesn't accept it that we are married I hate him to the core and I saw both of you staring at each other I won't allow him take this one from me " " take what" he didn't answer and left Maya shook her head

and went to her room she slept on her bed while smiling " this didn't turn out to be bad ".
