The day was quite hot everyone was trying to seek a shelter to avoid the sun that was continually shining non stop and James just had to be out of the house that day and this irritated him he was expected to be at home taking a rest after the event that happened but no he just had to see his so called mother in law who just thought it was a good idea to pester him. he was currently outside a coffee shop called cofe'e it is known to have the best coffee in the city James looked at the coffee shop and sighed

" this better be worth it" he went inside and saw that Mrs Lucas which was her last name was already sitting and waiting for him he walked to her table and sat down " good afternoon mother in law how have you been it's been so long"

he wore a smile on his face while he said all these but Mrs Lucas was not moved by it " good afternoon James it really has been so long which is surprising based on you are my son in law I mean it's been three years since we last saw I know you might be busy and can't pay a visit but a call would do just fine but neither you or Maya even bother to reach out to me I must say am quite disappointed" James was growing irritated already and said to himself " I am just coming and she has already said so much" mrs Lucas snapped her fingers at his face " did you say something why the sudden silence"

James smiled at her " am sorry mother you know we have been busy with alot of things since our marriage please bear with us don't worry I promise we will pay a visit soon so tell me why did you call me here" " oh I called you many times but you just happen to pick it once over the twenty times I called but that is for another day I called to ask about how you guys are doing like I said Maya doesn't call neither do you just wanted know if everything is okay is everything okay though" she said while staring at him heatedly James smirked " mother you just asked that question like you know something is wrong and you want to confirm it from me" he then leaned on the table " do you think something is wrong but better still do you know something that you want to confirm from me" he looked directly into her eyes she leaned back on her chair and smiled

" no just feeling worried that's all"

" well you don't have to we can take care of ourselves if that is all I will take my leave" he was about to leave but she stopped him " honeymoon" James looked back at her " honeymoon?"

" yes honeymoon you guys haven't gone yet you told me three years ago to recommend a place for you but you never got back to me for answers"

" so what does that have to do now"

" won't you guys go on a honeymoon I have the perfect place and I will sponsor it all you guys have to do is just get ready so what do you say" James was a little confused and surprised at the same time he thought if rejecting the offer but he thought about it again and realized that it might be a good chance to get away from work and have fun and it's not like she will follow them there to watch them " maybe you are right I think we do need this honeymoon trip I will be honest lately our relationship is not going well I think this is what we need we will take your offer I will tell her" " hm but I will like to tell her myself if you don't mind"

James smiled " sure why not so where is this place" " it's Italy we have a vacation house there you guys can stay there for how long you want" " Italy? quite far but nice okay then I will communicate with you on when we will be leaving if that is all I will take my leave" " sure feel free"

James left and got into his car

" Italy why there I can't even speak or understand their language but Maya can so it's okay at least she is useful now"

he looked outside the car window and was shocked to find Mrs Lucas staring at him from the shop's entrance he then smiled awkwardly and waved she smiled too and walked towards her car James stared at her from the car's side mirror he then turned on his car and drove off

" sometimes that woman just scares me"

Maya hes just finished cooking dinner when she heard James car parked outside she went to the living room to wait for him James came in and met her standing near the staircase he walked towards her and stopped and looked at her face " what's wrong with you why do you look sick" Maya answered slowly and quietly because she felt tired and exhausted " I am sick that was what I was trying to tell you" " well I don't care you have now till on Tuesday to treat yourself and look nice so tomorrow which is Monday go do whatever check up you were talking about" Maya was confused and asked " why is there something important coming up"

" well yes my annoying wife your mother just chose the best time to bring up honeymoon plans" " honeymoon?"

" yes honeymoon so by Wednesday we are leaving your mom will tell you the rest details am tired am heading upstairs" he left her with her thoughts on why her mother would bring up honeymoon at this point in time just when she was about to call her mother her cellphone rang she checked the caller and saw it was her mom she answered " hello" hello Maya how are you doing" " am fine mom" " why does your voice sound like that are you sick"

" yes but don't worry am fine" " are you sure it's nothing serious" " yes mom I have gone for a check up no need to worry what we should be talking about is this honeymoon am hearing of what are you planning mom" " nothing you guys are going to Italy for your honeymoon and you guys are staying at our vacation house there I have already planned everything and am sponsoring it"

"mom I really don't want to go"

" you have to you know there are hidden cameras there so whatever he does to you will be recorded just in case it is needed" " mom what if he finds out"

" he won't you won't tell him and the servants there won't and also while you are gone am going to set up hidden cameras in your house too they are all going to be well hidden so don't worry"

" mom am not sure about this am scared you don't know him" " Maya everything will be fine just trust me okay and listen if anything is ever to go wrong I want you to trust only and just one person"

" and who is that" " Jason Lee you know him right" "um yes i went to his party sometime ago wait how do you know him" " I will explain that later I will leave his details on how to reach him at the vacation house so don't worry okay everything will be fine" Maya sighed

" mom am trusting you I will leave everything to you then" " okay take care alright" " alright bye" " bye" the call was disconnected and Maya kept thinking how her mom knows Jason and hoping her plans work "let's hope for the best I guess" she then left to her room.
