Distractions

Deacon’s POV I was on patrol with Sam and Jackson when we heard the alarm. My first instinct was to check on Liah. She was asleep, but I could feel her wake up and I knew my sister had gotten her somewhere safe. Kyra was going to put them in my library and come and join the fight. After I knew Liah and Mya were safe, I shifted and ran. There are about 20 rouges in the southeast territory. Keith, the head guard, linked us. Jack, Sam and I are coming. How many do you have there, Keith? I have 4. Sam, Jack and I are on the way. Me too. I heard Kyra say as she shifted. Are Liah and Mya safe? In your library, just like they are supposed to be. Where’s Ky? 2 seconds out. He said. We made it to the fight. Ky immediately tackled a rouge and lunged at another, ripping his throat out in one swift move. My little brother was fast. Kyra was on a different rogue’s back biting down as we heard his neck snap. Sam had already taken out two more before one came at me. I growled and waited for the rouge to attack. He looked at me and tucked his tail. I had never seen a rogue submit. I took advantage and snapped his neck with my jaws. I heard a whimper and Keith was on his side, a huge gash on his hind leg. Someone get him out of here. Yes Alpha! A fighter said, grabbing Keith but his scruff and dragging him to the hospital. After another 30 minutes of fighting, we had killed all of the rogues. I shifted back and pulled on a pair of shorts. “How many are injured?” I asked. “We have 3 in the hospital, small bites. It should be fine by the morning. Keith got the worst of it, but the doctor said he will be fine by nightfall tomorrow.” Jackson said. “Good, let’s get rid of the bodies. Make sure that everyone was in their bunkers in the temporary housing. Sam, call Alpha Michael and tell him we need his warriors as soon as possible. These rogues somehow got through our patrol and I want it tripled the moment they arrive.” “Yes, Alpha,” Sam said, and ran into the pack house. I stayed outside until the last rogue was thrown into the fire. I could feel my bond with Liah stretching, but I didn’t understand why. I ran up to my room and Mya was asleep on the couch in the library. I checked the bed and bathroom. She wasn’t there. I ran downstairs to the rec room, and it was still empty. I tried linking Liah, but she had her block up. I started to panic. Where was my girl?
