Chapter Eight - Part Three

830 Words

Mum, Dad, and I all talked for a little while longer. They congratulated me on my performance and expressed how much they missed me. That I wholeheartedly agree with. About five minutes into the conversation, Ashley and Michael sauntered over to us. Both sets of their parents were in tow, who — like my family — travelled quite a way to be here. So, we all talked and congratulated each other for a little while. A short, plump, and balding man interrupted our circle of nine. He politely pushed his way towards me, looking abashed. “Excuse me, sorry for interrupting, but are you Talia Jefferson?” He asked me. “Yes, I am,” I replied, a little unsure why this absolute stranger wanted to confirm who I was. Surely my name was on the programme. “How can I help you?” “The name’s David Chapman.”
