“Here’s your change and here’s your coffee,” I said as I handed over the money and beverage to the customer. I smiled at her. “Have a wonderful day now!” The customer smiled and thanked me, before turning around and walking out of the door. It was the day after the show, and it was immediately back to normality. I was back at the café where I worked, and I served people as if I hadn’t just had the best two days of my life. I always got a little blue when I finished the show. It was the shock of going to rehearsal almost every day in the run-up to the show to nothing at all.
