I walked out of the backroom, bag in hand, ignored the suggestive looks from Diana and found Hunter at the table. I slid into the booth and callously threw my bag to the floor, not worrying about causing even more damage. Diana sauntered over to us, her eyes alight, and handed us two coffees in the cardboard cups. We both thanked her before she scurried off. It was as though she felt like she was interrupting some massive debate. Although we hadn’t even started talking yet.
