After a fantastic meal and a refreshing dessert, we all made our way out of the restaurant. This was where we would go our separate ways. Saying goodbye to my parents was the hardest thing to say, and I had to hold back tears. As it was getting late, they were staying at a local hotel, and they would make their way home tomorrow morning. This will be the last time I see my parents for a while.
The plan was for me to walk home alone because Michael was taking Ashley out for an extra celebration. They were going to the park to take a romantic stroll around it or something like that. I didn’t know. I wasn’t paying attention. They asked me if I wanted to go along with them, but I didn’t want them to feel obliged to invite me. They deserved some alone time after a hectic day.
