Cassius __________ Suddenly it all made sense to me. We weren't the guests here. No, we were the dinner for the dinner party, as I still looked around the throne room. I could see that the tourist group was scared just like us, as we huddled into a group to keep our distance from them. Like that would do anything I thought to myself. All I thought at the moment was the survival of my sister, as I held her close to my chest. We were all waiting for them to do something as they kept staring at us, but I could tell that they were playing with us. I counted that there were about 15 people in the throne room. Fitting as there were about 15 of us. One of the guards that were standing next to the throne reacted first. In the blink of an eye, he dragged a woman from the tourist group before we can even process what happened. I could hear the woman's screams ringing in the throne room when she saw that she was dragged away from her husband and was trapped in his arms. She reached out to her husband as he tried to save her. He ran to her but was dragged by another vampire unable to do anything but watch. We could see the guard sink his fangs into the nape of her, as the blood gushed out from the wound, but the guard didn't care as he drank the blood out of her. I could see the despair in her eyes, as she looked out to us in horror. Accepting her fate as her husband cried out for her. We could all see that she was dead. The guard detached himself, as a string of blood still connected them. He looked at us with those eyes that shined a blood red. On his face, he gave us this wide smile, while his mouth was still red with blood. He let go of the woman, as she fell to the floor unmoving. His fangs glinting while he did. The room turned to pandemonium as we finally registered what was going to happen to us. It turned to every man to himself, as the tourist tried to escape the room, but it was useless. They began to snatch the people from the group one by one. I could hear a chilling chuckle as they saw us struggle to survive. The vampires began to move at such a fast speed, that our eyes couldn't keep up with their movement. My ears were ringing from the screams all around us, as I could feel my sister trembling in fear in my arms. They were only a few of us left to huddle in a group, as they were still playing with us picking at us one by one to increase our fear. I saw a few vampires ravishing a person with multiple bites, as they began to suck their blood out. While the person cried out in fear. I couldn't focus as the smell and sight of blood churned my stomach, but at that moment I could see that they were distracted by something and I didn't hesitate to take the only chance of survival. I was just glad that we were still near the iron gates that led to the outside, and the two guards that were there are feeding on someone right now. It was the perfect shot to escape. I quickly lifted my sister in my arms. Her legs wrapped around my waist, as she hid her head in my chest. It was as if she knew what I was thinking. Before anyone could tell what I was doing I dashed to the irons gates and by some miracle, I made it into the hall. I could tell that I took the vampires by surprise, as they were distracted by the need to feed. In my quick line of thinking and probably from the adrenaline that rushed through me. I locked the iron gate with the sliding rod that was there. I knew it wouldn't hold them for long and I had to act fast before they made their way to us from the other gate. I could hear the sound of someone slamming into the iron gate, as I made sure it was locked with my sister in my arms. Thankful for its heavyweight. With the precious time that I had, I knew I had to act quickly and began to run. I knew that we wherein the other side of the castle. I had to get into a populated area quickly it would give us a chance, and for them not to expose themselves. I started running through the halls of the ancient Castle knowing I was at a disadvantage here. I knew I couldn't hesitate as a slight mistake would mean our doom. I kept running faster as I ran up the stairs and to the main floor. " Cassia I need you to focus on me. I know you're scared I am too." I told her as I kept running with her in my arms. "You studied this castle, where do we go from here?" I stopped to catch my breath for a second in the middle of the hall. I could tell that I have been running for a bit, but that didn't ease the tension that I was feeling. It only meant that the vampires could be catching up to us any moment. " We were on the east side of the castle. You're almost to the west gate if you keep running to the end of the hall and then turning right." my sister said as she looked up at me from where she was hiding her face in my chest. I began to ran faster, as I made it to the end of the hall. I began to hope that we would survive this ordeal, as I saw the gates up ahead. I could hear the sound of people from the other side of the gate, but not daring to look around. I made it to the gate and quickly opened it to get out to the busy street. At that moment when we felt a bit of sun on our faces, my sister lifted her head to look over my shoulder, as she screamed in fright. I quickly turned around to see that the brothers almost had us, as they extended their hands an inch from my shirt. I stepped fully into the light putting more distance between us, while people passed at us from the busy street. It was as if the brothers weren't even there like they were invisible to everyone but us. I and my sister just kept staring at the brothers, while they stared at us with an amused smirk as if to say the hunt was on. We could feel a bond to them as it called us to them to get closer. I shook out the mysterious haze that I was feeling and began to run down the street where more people were there. I knew that I had to do everything in my power to get us out of here now. The first thing to do is change our scent, our clothes everything. I had to find a way back to the hotel, but for now, me and my sister could catch our breath. Aurlias _________ I looked out to the busy streets where our little prey has escaped. They took us by shock as they were able to escape from the throne room. It was the first time someone has escaped from us kings. "How are we going to capture them, brother," said Marcus as he looked at me "This is going to be quite fun," said Remus with a look of manic on his face, as he continued to stare out to the streets. "Brothers, do not worry I'm sure that we can hunt our 2 little prey down. Indeed, it's been a while since we had a bit of excitement in our lives." I said I looked out to the streets where I could still see the girl and boy running, as I ingrained how they look into my memories. The humans quickly clearing a way for them. The bond that me and my brother felt from them, but we're unsure of what type of bond it is. It was worth exploring, and not just to eliminate a threat. In all my years of being royalty, I never experienced such a bond and those 2 have definitely captured our attention. The way they have the same silver blond hair that stopped to their backs. The same facial features with emerald green eyes, chubby cheeks, and heart-faced shape. The only difference between the two was their height. I wondered if they had a hidden ability that they weren't aware of. The guard that was behind them was using their powers to keep them hidden from the outside world. It only worked on those that do not know about the supernatural. In the supernatural world, different species co-existed together. They kept themselves hidden from the human world by their assigned mages. It was just safer to keep the peace. That didn't mean that they didn't have enemies to look out for. Some people don't know that they are mages or have mage blood and can go through their lives without training or knowledge about the supernatural world. Though when a person is too strong they have to be trained or they'll be too dangerous for the human world. It would only mean that they will be forced and bonded to the supernatural. That is why Aurlias thought the twins to be so, it wasn't every day someone outplays them. Every species has a ruler or rulers that they can come and take advice from. They represent the best of their species and are usually the wisest out of them and the most intelligent. It takes a very special someone to do that. The twins are just about to play the most dangerous game that they have ever played in their lives, as they were about to be hunted down. _________________ How do you like it?
