chapter 1
No one ————— "Come on Cassia! We have to go or we're gonna miss the tour!" shouted Cassius to his twin sister. "I'm coming. I'm coming." said cassia as she ran to their hotel room door while putting on her shoes. Cassius and Cassia were twins that loved to travel the world together. Ever since their questionable childhood and experiences they have been inseparable. To the point where it might be deemed unhealthy how close they are, but both of them didn't care what was being said about them. They were just glad that they got out, while they still could. Away from the pain and having the freedom to do anything. They swore that they will never go back. That freedom came with a few responsibilities that twins had to do like supporting themselves. Cassius became a freelancer on the internet as it was the best option all around. He wasn't tied down to any company, and as long as he had a laptop he can work from anywhere. Thankfully it got them a good income to support him, his sister, and their travels. Cassia though didn't like that she didn't do anything for the both of them, but she let it go knowing that her brother was only worried for her after their traumatic experience. She admits that she does act childish at times and that only reinforced how her brother acts towards her. They picked up their stuff before closing the door and leaving the hotel. Both of them were super excited to see the ancient castle of Rome. Castle Sant'Angelo was told to be a beautiful architecture that stood the test of times. It had beautiful sculptures in the front and when you went inside it only took your breath away. There were multiple hanging chandeliers, marble pillars that supported the building throughout the hall, and the marble floor that reflected every sound being made upon it. There were also the historic paintings that probably cost a fortune and were littered throughout the hall. The historic figures were standing with confidence and power, that you can almost feel that through the painting. What interested both of them and wanted to see more than anything was the catacombs that were under the castle. They were just fortunate that they were able to find a tour that promised a glimpse of it, so they didn't push the matter further and booked a spot. That didn't stop the lingering feeling of uncertainty that twins had from this tour, as they made their way down the beautiful streets of Italy to the meeting point. Where the weather was just perfect to do something. They went into the tour bus and took a seat while the other tourist boarded the bus, but not before the bus driver took all of their phones away. "That's strange," mumbled Cassius to his sister. "I know right. Maybe they don't want anyone to spoil the tour for other people. They did say that it was exclusive and they don't do this often." said Cassia "I know but my instincts are going haywire, as we get closer to the Castle. I don't like this." "I know it's weird Cassius. Even when they did that major interview where we get accepted or not on this tour. How about we stay at the end of the group. I'll try to get our phones back" "Look if anything looks like it can go wrong we're bolting out of there," warned Cassius as he continued to stare out of the window from the moving bus. The bus suddenly stopped moving as they arrived at their destination. The feeling grew, but it was as if the castle was beckoning for them to come in. Like a siren calling to their doom. Cassius _______________ I looked at my sister as she began to talk to the bus driver. She was trying to convince him to give us our phones back, but he seemed hesitant almost afraid. After a few moments, he finally conceded and gave us our phones back, but not before warning them not to say anything about it and left. The list of weird behavior just kept growing the longer we stayed here. "How did you make him give us our phones back Cassia," I said "Told him that I had a medical emergency and the alarm will go off when I need my medicine." She smirked at me. "Sneaky." "I know just hide your phone and don't let anyone see it," she warned me I held her hand as we made our way to the iron gates that were up ahead. The gate opened and the most beautiful woman I have ever seen stepped out. She was tall with flowy dark hair that stopped to the middle of her back. She had a beautiful face with pouty lips that were stained red. Long Lashes framed her dark brown eyes that almost looked like red wine. She wore a red strapped dress with killer heels that brought out her white pale skin. Anyone that saw her instantly could have guessed that she is a model What captured my attention as everyone was enamored by her charms was the cold smile on her face as she looked at us. "Hello everyone and welcome to the exclusive trip to the Castle. I'm your host and guide Lilliana," she said with her melodic voice that captured everyone's attention instantly. "Please would you follow me as we get started. It shouldn't take more than half an hour and we are done." Lilliana turned around and made her way back inside, as the people followed her like lost puppies. Cassia stopped her before we took another step into the castle. "Excuse me Miss why aren't there other tourists around us," Cassia questioned with a look of confusion on her face. Know that Cassia pointed that out it was confusing that we were the only group in the area, as I looked around to see the place was completely deserted except for us. Lilliana turned to us with that cold charming smile. "That because of the exclusive nature of the tour. We are entering through the private gate" as she gazed at us. The feeling of being compelled returned the more she stared at us. I could feel Cassia squeezing my hand, a sign that she felt it too. We began to make our way to the end of the group, as we followed them in not wanting to cause a scene. "You felt that right," Cassia said as she looked at me with worry. "Yes. Don't let go of my hand Ssia." We began to walk through the halls of the ancient castle. Drowning everything out, including Lilliana and the unease that I felt, and just be amazed at what we see as we kept getting further into the castle. When we passed a certain painting I stopped immediately to gaze upon it. It was like I could feel a bond to that picture and I could feel the Cassia felt it too. "What's the story behind this picture?" I called out to Lilliana, where she stopped again. I could tell that she was getting fed up with us, as we were always making them stop more than usual. She stared at us with an annoyed look, as she looked at where we were pointing to. A fond look made its way to her face as she stared at the painting. It was the most emotion we saw from her during this tour. The painting had 3 men in different poses that exuded dominance. One was sitting on the throne while the other 2 stood with him, as they sat on the arms of the chair. You could tell that three were bonded together and were probably very close. Their eyes shined with the power that they held, it was as if you were staring at a lazy predator. That knew it could hunt you down at any time. "These are the 3 kings that once ruled Rome from 300b.c to 270 b.c. Their reign was called the golden age as prosperity grew in the land. The one sitting in the chair is the oldest while next to him are his two younger brothers." Lilliana kept informing the group. "You have Aurlias." she pointed at the eldest. "Marcus and then Remus. They are the oldest to youngest in that order." She stopped talking and was about the leave as she finished. "Can you tell us more?" I questioned her still staring at the picture. "Aurlias knew that he could rule without his brothers, but didn't want their bond to be strained by who gets to rule. As his first act as king, he decreed that the throne will be ruled by three kings. Where one lacked in something the other would have. They had an iron grip on the throne and no one would dare conspire against them. Ruling with both power and fear. It was said they died from the love of a woman that turned them into merciless rulers. Then where buried here in the catacombs." Lilliana carried on telling us. "You can meet them there," she said as she chuckled sarcastically, but I could tell she wasn't joking. Me and Cassia ignored her as we continued to stare at the three gorgeous men, before catching up at the end of the group. We made our way down the gated stairs, as the other tourist were looking in awe. We stopped as everyone grouped in the middle of the hall. There was a desk in the middle of it, and as you looked up you could see the inside of the dome. Where the windows installed on it brought in the light from the outside. We continued down the hall that was filled with armored statue knights until we stopped in front of another intricate iron gate. Where Lilliana entered first, but not before announcing. "We are here, behind these gates are the Catacombs." The feeling of unease was at its peak. while my instincts were screaming at me to grab Cassia and start running, but the gates opened and everyone stepped in. We were the last to step in before the gates closed from behind us. The room was filled with people dressed in red and to my surprise standing in the middle of the room were the 3 thrones. Sitting in them were the 3 men that we saw in the picture with a cruel smile on their faces, but the painting didn't capture their true beauty. Aurlias was sitting in the middle but had pin-straight black raven hair. It stopped at his neck but was styled back. He and his brothers had aristocratic features of high cheekbones and a jaw that can cut through steel. Aurlias's muscles were hidden from view by the expensive suit that he was wearing. His stature screamed dominance as it filled the room. While his eyes shined red as it looked at us. Marcus was sitting on his right with a look of boredom on his face, as he stared at us with one knee over the other. Wearing the same suit pant as Aurlias, but with a white dress shirt. You could see the tattoos clearly that run up his arms. He had the same black hair and eyes that shined red. He just has a slightly smaller stature than Aurlias. Finally, Remus had a look of excitement at the fear that filled the room. His blond hair was tousled and cut short. He had the smallest stature of his brothers but the same features and eyes as them. He wore the same outfit as them What scared me the most, as I moved Cassia into my arms, was the fangs that appeared on everyone's faces as they looked at us including Lilliana. Fear ran through me as one thing rang through my mind as I looked at them. "Vampires." ___________________ Tell me what do you think and please like and comment it would mean the world. one thing how many of you saw this coming
