Chapter Sixteen
I knew that there was no way that he was human. I knew what I had seen. Even if my parents hadn't believed me.
My parents had wrapped me in a towel, hugging me close while I watched him walk away. The man-creature had walked back towards the water, but I saw his skin change before he dove back under the surf.
Since that moment, I had avoided going into the water.
“Amelia?” Louis said, his hand slipped into mine. Pulling my thoughts out of the past, I shivered.
“You, okay?”
“Yeah, just thinking.” I whispered, looking out at the water. Wondering what had happened to that man that had saved me and what he could be now that I knew other such creatures existed.
