The Blink That Changed Everything

"It all started with a BLINK" .... Three years earlier.... It was the beginning of a cool semester, and the chaos of the hallway was a tradition of the first day of every semester. Noises everywhere, Lockers being slammed, Screams of girls embracing each other after a long holiday, Shoes rushed past like the world was running late for something important. Somewhere in the hallway, there comes Adrian Cole with his best friend Jasper Allen. Adrian, a popular, rich, handsome, intelligent guy who's got all the girls' attention. All were screaming at the sight of him, some even fainted at his beauty. And then there was Lena Harper, a regular student, who wasn't paying attention to where she was headed, her mind somewhere between unfinished homework, pending projects, and the smell of rain in the air, then BOOM, She bumped into a fellow student. Her books were scattered everywhere, papers flying here and there as if looking for a perfect place to land. The noise around her seems to reduce, and then a pair of black polished designer shoes appeared in front of her. For a moment, she paused. She looked up to have her eyes met with a beautiful pair of dark brown eyes. Everything around them seems to slow down. He said nothing, just stared at her like he had been dreaming of this day. Lena blinked first, shrugged it off, packed her scattered books, and walked away, Adrian stood still until his friend Jasper called his name twice before he responded. He watches her walk away.
