“That’s not my problem, dad.” Drew snapped over the phone. She rolled her eyes as her father went on and on, condemning her for not being ready for their flight. “To hell with that! I don’t see how his problems should be considered mine!” She snapped. She let out an exasperated sigh. “NO!” She nearly shrieked. Her eyes got huge. “Absolutely not, just because my older cousin is an i***t and rejected her mate at her ceremony - that’s not MY problem! And he’s halfway around the world, in AUSTRALIA. WHO THE f**k WANTS TO GO THERE? The place is full of crazy ass f*****g -” She was cut off when her father slammed the door to her room open. He had shoved his phone away and moved towards Drew, he grabbed her by the wrist and yanked her forwards. “If you’re not in the mood to be beaten, you will get your s**t packed and be on the jet. You are going to be the queen one way or another. I made SURE of that.” He snarled. Then he backhanded Drew hard. Drew crumpled onto her floor. She held her cheek, tears stung her eyes but she knew better than to shed them. They only ever encouraged her father to hit her more. She stayed still as he left the room. She then climbed to her feet and moved to pack her most important possessions. She made sure to pack her mother’s jewelry and her violin. She didn’t really bother with her clothes, most of them weren’t exactly ‘Princess’ material. That thought made her roll her eyes and dry heave. She thought there were mates for reasons, that the goddess gave them all a destiny for a reason - but her father, cousin, uncle and the current Alpha king had all seemingly thrown that out the window. Her cousin had rejected the Alpha Prince Noah Sonnen on their wedding/mating day. She rejected him because in her narcissistic declaration, “That i***t isn’t strong enough for ruling.” Drew wrinkled her nose as she pulled her black leather jacket on. She fixed her long straight dark brown, nearly black hair over her shoulders. She stared at herself in the reflection. She made sure to pack her makeup, so she could hide the bruises on her face that were still healing from the last time her father had beaten her. She stared into her own gold-brown eyes. She took a deep breath before picking up her bag. She grabbed her violin case and walked out of her room, leaving behind everything that meant almost nothing to her. She descended the staircase of the pack house and slipped out the front door without coming into contact with anyone, thank god. She hated her pack. She hated everyone who had been in her life, and she was sure she would hate everyone who was going to be in her life from here on out.  She got into the little black town car that was waiting for her. She didn’t say anything to the driver as she settled in, hugging her bags to herself. She watched the scenery of New York State pass by as they got closer to the city, closer to JFK, where she would be getting on a private jet sent for her... to Australia.  Who the f**k ruled from Australia? The thought caused Drew to chuckle to herself. She ignored the odd look the driver gave her, and stared out the window instead. The Green Apple Pack, as her pack was called, were assholes who offered her up as tribute to repay the shame her stupid older cousin had caused. Drew leaned her head back and stared up at the ceiling of the car, grimacing at the fact that her uncle, the Alpha had seemingly handed her over because his daughter was a cowardly twit. She turned her head to stare out the window as the New York city streets passed by. In no time, they were at the airport, actually, they had driven onto the private runway section, for private jets and such. She let out a sigh as they came up on a small white jet. A young girl, probably around Drew’s age - twenty-eight or so - was standing at the bottom of the steps of the jet. She had light blonde hair that was thick and curly, and bright blue eyes. She was tall too. Like, ridiculously so. Drew was only 5’4”, but the girl waiting for her had to be at least 5’10”. She arched her brows when the girl started to wave frantically. Drew rolled her eyes. The car came to a stop and she climbed out, hugging her bag and her violin case close to her body. She walked towards the jet, pausing for a moment to look over at the girl. She arched a brow. “Hi! I’m Kaloni Sonnen!” She bounced in her step as she walked towards Drew.  This caused Drew to be taken aback. She held a hand up and turned to the driver, giving him an inquisitive look. He merely shrugged, and turned the car around and left. “They sent the f*****g princess to get me?” Drew finally spoke, scoffing at the idea. “What the f**k…” She trailed off, her eyes widening. Kaloni seemingly ignored Drew’s commentary. “I can tell we’ll be amazing sisters.” She winked at Drew before taking her arm and practically dragging Drew up the steps and inside the jet. She pulled Drew to sit down and promptly sat down next to her. “What is that?” Kaloni pointed to the violin case. “Er… a violin, what does it look like?” Drew raised her brows, gobsmacked at Kaloni’s stupidity. Kaloni laughed. “You play then?” Drew stared at the princess like she had grown a second head. Then, she couldn’t help her smart ass side coming out. “No, I just like to carry around a violin for shits and giggles.” Kaloni must’ve thought that hilarious. She was in tears over that. Which confused Drew even further.  Drew furrowed her brows and buckled herself into her seat. She let out something like a sigh and rested her head back. She closed her eyes and settled herself in for the longest flight of her life.
