It has been tough the last 5 weeks Leah is having a little boy. We scoured what was left of the Southside and the westside for supplies. Things our getting more and more dangerous as the number of Canni attacks grow fast. We fortified the power grid and set charges around the entire city. The backlash will be tremendous when we blow it but I got word from some scout teams that there are Canni's heading to the city.
I lay in bed cuddling with Chase and Sophie wishing this could be the simplicity of my life.
"South bound to Sanctana are you still there Sanctana"
I groan reaching for my walkie
" This is Sanctana"
" Sanctana I am looking for Sargent Jones"
Chase grabs the Walkie
" Tell me your unit number"

He leans in to me
" This is Mathens state your name soldier"
" Vastern"
I grab the Walkie
" Wade?"
" Maddi is that you? Chase your there two?"
Chase starts laughing
" Yeah man it's us are you on the way here?"
"Yeah heading south toward you but I have these zombie freak things on my a$$."
" What's your count Wade"
"32 and dwindling fast man I'm about 2 days out"
" We are on the way to help man be there soon"
" Thanks man I appreciate it"
We get up and start getting ready Chase wraps his arms around me kissing me.
" I wish you would stay here"
I start slinking my arms around his neck
" And let my big bad soldier do things on his own?"
He starts laughing kissing me
" You are crazy"
" Maybe, but you love me"
" Always baby you are my safety"
I kiss him again
" You are always mine baby"
" Come on let's go save sh*t show"
I giggle and we grab our bags telling Leah to take the kids. We jump in our Hummer and head to town center Chase called a team to meet us there.
Kyle: "Hey guys what's up?"
" Wade"
He laughs
" Like Wade sh*t show Vastern?"
Chase nods
" Yeah man he is coming south toward us"
I laugh
" Come on ladies let's go"
We load up and Start taking back roads North, We switch drivers a few times until we pass them and turn around catching back up.
" Wade pull over"
" Those things aren't far behind Mads"
" We can handle it pull over"
They pull over their small Convoy and I walk to Wade hugging him.
" Where is Nate?"
" The Semi"
I nod running to Nate and hugging him
" s**t Mads we have been trying to contact you for weeks there is a hoard behind us"
I nod
" It will be okay just follow me"
Chase walks up hugging Nate
" Glad you guys are okay man let's get out of here"
We walk back to the Hummer and he spins me around kissing me.
" I love you"
"I love you baby is everything okay?"
" I have a bad feeling"
I nod
" Me too let's get out of here"
We get in the car and he drives we stop for gas and to eat and they where serious I see the hoard.
" SH*T get in the truck NOW!"
Chase looks and stops pumping the gas
throwing the pump down everyone starts jumping in vehicles He drives and the hoard surrounds us fast.
" Kyle give me the Gatlings." He hands me the guns
" Chase stop the truck"
He looks at me
" Maddi are you crazy?"
I lean over kissing him
" You are going 5 miles an hour don't make me jump out"
He grabs me
" Your not doing this"
I kiss him
" I am, I love you take care of the kids"
I open the door jumping out
CHASE
I slam on my breaks getting slightly rear ended
" MADDI"
Kyle grabs my arm
" Don't she is giving us a way home drive now"
" Not without her"
" DRIVE CHASE"
I gulp, I know my girl is a bada$s but no one will survive this. I move to the passenger seat grabbing my gun and pushing the roof off. Kyle jumps in the driver's seat as Maddi clears our way I shoot the stragglers. We pass her and I see her in the rear view and her guns have ran out.
I just drove away from the love of my life and I can't help but break down. I feel so numb we drive for hours saying nothing doing nothing. We get to the gates and they open I feel like I am drowning.
"CHASE, CHASE"
I look at Kyle
" We have to blow it man they are going to be here soon"
" Not yet wait until they get closer."
" Chase she's gone"
Tears start escaping me and I can't control anything right now. Leah runs to the Hummer.
" Where's Maddi?"
I just look at her
" NOO, CHASE WHAT HAPPENED WHERE IS MADDI"
" They are at the walls all sides we need to blow the city"
I grab the walkie but I can't talk I can't move
Kyle: " Chase give the word"
The most beautiful sound I have ever heard comes through the walkie.
" Blow the damn charges so I can come home f*cknuts"
My heart leaps out of my chest
" Baby?"
" Blow the charges I'm 50 miles out"
" You heard the boss woman blow the charges"
I throw my walkie down I don't know how this is possible right now but the relief I feel that I will see my beautiful Maddi again washes over me.
MADDI
I jump out clearing the way I see Chase push the roof off and killing stragglers. The Convoy passes and I run out of bullets I throw my guns down and start using axes I will fight to the end of my life. I start noticing something the Canni's it's like they are avoiding me they sidestep my every move. I start moving I pick up my guns and get in an abandon car at the station. I have only seen Canni's stop for babies but never anyone else. The only person to survive a hoard is Leah and she's you have got to be kidding me.
I walk in the gas station raiding it for a pregnancy test. I take one drink a lot of water and take four more within the next 3 hours. The hoard finally passed there where at least 10,000 Canni's, I get in the car and start driving I hear the walkie go off beside me

Kyle: " Chase give the word"
" Blow the damn charges so I can come home f*cknuts"
His voice makes me smile
" Baby?"
" Blow the charges I'm 50 miles out"
" You heard the boss woman blow the charges"
I park my car the backlash should not hit this far out
The walkie goes off again
" Blowing them now baby get safe"
" I'm good just do it"
I hear them blow and see the entire city billowing in smoke
" Maddi where are you?"
" Waiting for the smoke to clear I will be home in a bit"
" Baby how is this possible?"
" Ask Leah how she survived you will find my answer"
CHASE
I turn to Leah and she shrugs
" I don't know they avoided me"
"Why?"
She shrugs again
" No clue thought I was just sick or..... PREGNANT!!!"
" Holly shitaki Maddi is pregnant"
I lay back in my seat as that realization hits my girl my baby my safety and my forever is pregnant with my child.
