-Riley's POV-
I woke up feeling really happy today. Memories from yesterday flooded my mind. I still have the pictures, from when we took the photos at the photo booth.
I sat up, yawning and stretching as always when a teddy bear caught my eye. But it wasn't just a teddy bear, it was the teddy bear. The pink one I was eyeing yesterday.
I got up to it, wearing a confused expression. How did it get in here? Was I a magical unicorn and put this in here with my powers while I was sleeping?
I picked it up when a small, folded piece of paper dropped. I picked it up and started reading:
Lee,
I knew how much you wanted this, so I decided to get it for you. Don't go around longing for things and not expect me to not get it XD.
Love, Lucas.
A blush emerged my cheeks as I finished reading. Luke. He got it for me. But how did he know I wanted it? I was so discrete while staring at it.
Maybe he was the magical unicorn, since I'm already preoccupied as being a majestic sea-bunny.
That's it.
I smiled at the bear, deciding I would name it Precious, since it was now the most precious item I own. Well, one of the most precious items I own.
"Riley, come here please." I heard my mom call me.
I groaned. I put the bear on my bed before going downstairs to see my mom holding up four strips of paper, that looked like invitations.
"Yeah?" I asked, approaching her.
My mom surprised me by handing me one of the purple strips, nodding at it. Meaning, she wanted me to read it.
I looked down at it and saw it was an invitation for a wedding. The wedding was for my cousin, Andrea.
It says on here that I can bring a plus one, since I'm her 'favourite cousin'. I highly doubted that, but hey! I'm not saying I don't want it.
I looked at my mom. "Tell Andrea I said thanks." I told her before I started running towards my room.
Once I got into my room, my mind diverted to the bear again. Should I visit Luke and thank him?
I thought for a little bit, before deciding that was the right thing to do. I decided to take a shower and get dressed into some suitable clothes for the day. I blow-dried my hair and tied it up into a ponytail, just in case it was wet.
I grabbed a granola bar before leaving, only for someone to knock at the front door. I put down my breakfast bar, in order to check who is currently at my doorstep.
I opened it, and surprise!
It was none other than Lucas Parker.
**
"Please, Lee!" Luke begged as soon as we got to the couch.
I gave him such an expression, which went along the lines of what are you trying to say?
He must've gotten the hint, since he calmed down. I knew this because his whole body sagged on the leather couch.
"My aunt and cousin are coming over. I really don't want to stay in the same house with them or I might go insane. Please may I stay at yours until Wednesday to Saturday? I kinda told my mom I am." He explained.
I nodded, taking everything in. Then I remembered the wedding I have to attend on Friday. Maybe Luke would like to go?
And while he's here, I thought I should ask about the bear he, so kindly, won for me.
"Well, that is if you want to be my plus one for a wedding. It's my cousin, Andrea's, wedding." I informed him.
He shrugged his shoulders, then started nodding after that.
"Sure. But if you really wanted me to be your plus one, you should've just asked." He winked at me.
I looked away and started laughing. I looked away because I didn't want him to see the blush that was threatening to emerge on my cheeks.
"By the way, I love your freckles." I heard him say.
Huh? My fre-- that's right. I didn't put any makeup on. I was travelling to another house and I didn't conceal them.
Darn the low amount of melanin in my skin.
I smiled at his comment. Then I remembered another thing that made me smile this morning - Precious.
"Did you really win that bear for me yesterday?" I asked.
At first he looked confused, making me confused. Did he win it? Or was there some other Luke in town I didn't know about?
But then, to my relief, he must've realized what I was talking about since he nodded.
"Yep. Like I said in the note, you can't long for something and expect not to receive it from me." He told me.
I went up to him and hugged Luke, without thinking twice about it.
And that seemed to be the moment my brother decided to walk into the room.
"Riley, what are you doing?" I heard his little voice say.
My eyes widened and so did Luke's. I pulled away and turned to face Caleb. From his perspective, it must've looked really weird.
Well, this certainly doesn't feel awkward.
"Well, seems like I'm getting the Fruit Loops first today." I said, hoping he would get out of here.
I bit my tongue to prevent myself from laughing as I watched his expression. He looked horrified.
"What? No! That's not fair. I'm going to get it first." Caleb complained before zooming out of the room.
I turned turned back to face Luke and be looked uncomfortable. I didn't blame him.
"I'm going to go now. Er, have fun.. eating Fruit Loops." Luke said.
"Yeah. Bye." I replied.
He started walking away, watching as he walked inside his house. Totally not creepy or stalker-like.
I walked into the kitchen to see Caleb eating cereal, and to see the box in the bin - meaning it's finished.
I looked back at him, giving him the deadliest glare I could put on at the time.
He noticed and gulped. I saw it.
"You little..."
