ten || shopping spree

Things got back to normal, luckily. Luke was with his friends, talking about whatever it was, and I was with Anna and Oli, watching their snog-a-thon. Great life. Once Anna and Oli broke away from each other, Oli claimed he had to go talk to his friends for a second, so he left. "Well, if it isn't for little-miss-sarcasm." I heard a voice say. But not just any voice. It was Isabella Wright's one. "Well, if it isn't for the typical cliché line every girl says." I shot back, smiling at her. She narrowed her eyes at me, preventing from the sunlight reflecting off her blue eyes into my brown eyes. Thank you, Lord. "I'm not here for your wits, Smiley." Isabella spat. Literally. I wiped my face. "Please refrain from putting your saliva on my face. I don't want any diseases from your germs, thanks." I told her. I could see Isabella turning red. Her eyes widened. One of the best things about her - she gets annoyed so easily. "I don't know what Harvey sees in you." She muttered, obviously meant to be kept to herself. Too bad I heard. I started laughing. If that was her way of getting under my skin, it wasn't very successful. I was stupid and naive back then, and I didn't know that Harvey Thomas would end up as what he is now. A jerk. "You better watch your back, Riley Evans. I'm out to get you." Isabella threatened. "Oh, mighty! Who knew the day would come where Isabella would actually say my name right." I said, pretending to wipe a tear and putting a hand to my chest - where I hoped my heart was. "Let's get away from these losers." Isabella told her friends. "I don't see a mirror, darling!" I called out as she started walking away. That's right. Don't mess with Smiley Evans. ** I was walking to my locker, when I presume a freshman walked up to me. "That was so cool, what you did at lunch. Can you tell this girl, Brianna, that were friends?" He asked. I gave him a huh? look before walking away. To my misfortune, I saw Harvey leaning against my locker. What did I do to deserve this? Because, I didn't do anything to deserve this! Apart from nearly decapitating Caleb for eating the rest of the Fruit Loops yesterday. Nearly. "Yes?" I asked. He looked up and grinned. My eyebrows shot up. If he came here to test my patience then-- "Hi, Riley. Didn't speak with you for a while." He said. First, Isabella acts like a drama queen, and now Harvey acts like a concerned friend. Please, inform me of what is going on in this world right now. Is England looking for American exchange students? I wouldn't hesitate to go. "What do you want?" I asked. "Well, no need to get all cranky on me. Geez." He scowled at me before walking off. I scoffed. Harvey is such a girl. Suffering mood swings. I wouldn't be surprised if he has Aunt Flo visiting him every month. ** "Boo." Says a voice. As I turned around to see who the voice belonged to, I saw it was Luke, with Miles and Adam standing on either side of him. "Hi, you lot." I greeted them as I turned around. Luke looked really good today. He wore a black t-shirt, black jeans and trainers. He never gels his hair, unless it's a special occasion, so it was still in its usual form. Miles was quite attractive as well, I guess. Not as good-looking at Luke, heck, Luke is better looking than any male model there is. But anyway, Miles has brown hair that's usually gelled back. He's got blue eyes and his body shape would remind you of a bodybuilder. Then, Adam. He has red hair (well, actually auburn, but close enough) and brown eyes. He's the quiet one, but rumours state he's really good at soccer. "So, what are you planning to do?" Miles asked. I thought for a bit. What was I going to do after school? That's when it came to me. I had to go shopping with my mom to get appropriate clothes for the wedding. "Shopping." I told them. Miles scrunched up his nose while Luke gave me a look, one which was meant to sum up: please elaborate. "My cousin is getting married and I was invited to her wedding. So my mom wants to take me shopping to get a dress." I elaborated. Realization hit Luke's face as he took in what I said. "Andrea's?" "Yeah." "The one you want me you wanted me to go to?" He asked. "Yep." I said, popping the 'p'. "Well, in that case, I'm coming with you." He told me. Miles and Adam gave him a look and he just shrugged. "So, when are we going?" Luke asked me. I checked the time. Then I told him my mom was going to pick me up in about five minutes to take me to the mall. He followed me outside, saying goodbye to Miles and Adam as they started pulling out the car park. We sat on the edge of the sidewalk, waiting to hear the honk of my mom's black Honda civic. Eventually, my mom arrived so we both got in. My mom clearly thought her bag was more important than her own daughter, since she put her bag on the passenger seat, meaning I had to sit in the backseat. Luke sat on the side near the window; so did I. The middle seat was vacant, so I decided to put my hand down there - only to meet Luke's hand. I quickly pulled my hand back to my side, looking out the window with my face. I'm not even being hyperbolic, but my face, in that period of time, could put a tomato to shame. ** The car ride was long and painful. After the whole hand-touching incident, I decided to focus on the music that was blasting out from the cars radio. We went into a few shops, until we reached a*****e called 'Wonder Darlings'. I walked around, looking at a few of the racks the store had to offer until I came across a really pretty light blue one. It had a heart cut at the top, and had straps with small white polka dots on it. There were sequins all around the top and it probably went up to the the thigh. I took it and tried it on. I loved it immediately. I showed my mom and Luke. Luke smiled at me and my mom nodded. Since I got the approval from both of them, I decided to get it. ** The shopping trip took four hours altogether, since not only did we stop to Dunkin' Donuts, but it took forever for mom and Luke to pick something. Eventually, they did though. I held my bag in my hand as I walked up the steps to my house. My mom was already inside, since she had her dress on her laps while driving. My dress was in the trunk - meaning it took longer for me to get it. "Hey, Lee!" I heard Luke say. "Yeah?" "Wait there." He commanded. I obeyed and waited there, while Luke ran inside. Two minutes later (psh, not like I was counting) he came out holding a silver box. "Put it on at the wedding. It'll go really well with your dress." He told me, before saying goodbye and going inside. I went inside and hung up my dress. I sat on the bed to see what was inside the box. At first, I thought I the was a necklace, but the box it far too big. The necklace would just be loose in there. And if it was a necklace, I would be able to hear that when I would shake it. But I didn't hear anything. I opened the box and my eyes widened. It was my favorite blue bow.
