Accepting Love

{{ERICA'S POV}} I grunted as I switched off my alarm that kept blaring all night. Checking the time I figured it was still 4 in the morning. I made my way into the toilet to freshen up and came out 15 minutes later refreshed and full of life, I changed into a pair of sweatpants and a free loose long sleeve shirt grabbing my drinking bottle and fixed my time watch on my hand. I jumped up a little then left for my annual 30 minutes run. Oh! I haven't introduced myself, forgive me. My name is Erica Blue and I'm your average 21 years old lady. The only thing about me would be that I'm the CEO of the well known Boom&Bloom limited. I have an elder brother of course but his in another country I don't see him much.... The others? they're all united six feet under. My past is not the greatest but one thing for sure is the fact I love living alone. I gulped down the bottle of water panting hard with sweats running through my body like a second flesh. I walked into my gym grinning from ear to ear like a cheiserie cat. Over the years, I've been kidnapped and badly beaten up close to death so I was forced to learn hand to hand combat along with karate, boxing and some other petty tricks that helps me fight armed and unarmed. An hour later I dove back I to the showers taking a long relaxing bath then drying off my hair and body. I let my slightly wet hair flow down by back after casually wearing a cotton white designer shirt with black jeans along with my black blazer. I applied light makeup and chuckled as I slid into my black sneakers remembering the time my best friend Meka refused to talk to me because I never wore heels or dressed like a lady except on special occasions. I grabbed my hand bag on the table furrowing my eyes as I thought of whether to have breakfast or not. I decided against it and dashed into my car.I glanced at my sliver wristwatch as I stepped on the pedal speeding my way to work. I got there by 6:30 and stepped out of my car handing the key over to my driver before walking in briskly. I had a naughty habit of getting to work earlier than my workers so I'll be able to start the day's work. I heard a knock on my door and with a cold and chilling voice asked the person to come in. The door gave way to my secretary who I spared a glance at then concentrated back on the file in my hands. She walked in with calculating steps with a cup of coffee like always then began to read my day schedule. She cleared her throat and started reading "Miss Erica,today you have a meeting with the employees at 12pm and by 4 there would be a shareholders meeting to discuss the new project that we'll be embarking on. There are some documents that you're to sign before the end of the day to facilitate the start of some little missions that some of our branches are planning to engage in." I nodded my head and spoke in an icy voice still not looking away from the papers in my hands. "By 11:30 we'll head for the employees hall and after the meeting there should be a 4 months training for all new employees that is all the employees employed in the last 2 months. Get me a list of all the new employees before the shareholders meeting" I paused and sipped my coffee which made me scrunch my face in disgust for a millesecond before it returned back to my usual cold and aloof face. "Trash this coffee on your way out and prepare 15 printed copies of the business plan to be shared during the shareholders meeting." She nodded her head and walked out with the coffee in hand. As I was busy going through the files on my table,I heard the annoying sound of my phone ringtone chuckling lightly as I knew who was ringing me."Row!Row!Row!Your Ass..!!!!Outta That Office! Your Love Is Calling You!!Pick Up Already!" I accepted the call still focused on the papers on my table. "Erica!!!" I flinched as she shouted shaking my head in frustration. "How can you pick my call and not even drop those files that you seemed to have married yourself to!?" "Don't be a brat, I'm busy" she snickered "Busy getting married to your paperwork?" " No! I'm busy dealing with a pyscopathic brat, she's a real pain in the butt"I countered with a small smile plastered on my face as she pouted."You're mean!" "You're older so act like it!" Her brown orb like eyes became glossy as she gave me a shocked look. "I'm sorry" her voice came out in a whisper but I heard it well enough. I felt really guilty seeing her vulnerable. She cleared her voice harshly wiping away the tears "I have to go now,I have things to attend to." I stared at my phone realizing she really hang up on me "God!!!!" I groaned throwing my pen a distance away "This isn't how I planned my day, how am I supposed to make it up to meka now? "I muttered under my breath checking the time as I paced around. "Arrggg!!" I slumped on my revolving chair shutting my eyes tight and covering it with my hands. "Stupid me, why do you always have to be such an inconsiderate brat Hun? now you're gonna lose your only friend" ****************************************************************************************************************** I held my head up high in majesty as I briskly addressed my staffs. My green eyes scanning each and everyone while emitting a cold aura that screamed Do Not Mess With Me! "That would be all for today,do well to act properly and productively. And that's an order! Thank you." I stepped down with a straight face heading out of the building in an hurry to have lunch with Meka only to bump into someone. Time seemed to freeze as all my employees held their breath waiting for me to pass the final say on this poor fellow. I frowned as I looked down to see a large brown spot on my shirt moving even lower to realize I stepped on her glasses. I clicked my tongue on my upper teeth moving my head from right to left before finally taking a look at the employee who dared to do this to me. I froze as I saw the beauty in front of me with tears cascading down her face. Her legs gave way and she was kneeling her head bowed in total respect. "I.. I'm s.. sorry miss e..erica. Please don't fire me, my younger sister is currently in the hospital and needs to undergo surgery." She cried out,her nose red from the snot that she kept harshly wiping away with her eyes all puffy and cute. She seemed to be the same age as her. "How old are you?"I asked softly so only her could hear. Her face jerked up so fast I winced "21" she replied her voice a bit hoarse. I glanced around seeing the number of people watching and snickered "I see you all are eager to get fired, standing watching this like a show right?" I turned to my assistant winking at her before putting back on my cold demeanor "Fire anyone still standing around doing nothing in the next 2 minutes!" She nodded while my employees scrambled in fear and urgency. I chuckled and squatted to look at this beauty head on."What's your name?" she sniffed not getting where all this was going to."ma'am?" I chuckled "relax I won't bite.....yet." I stretched an hand to her TO BE CONTINUED!!!
