Prologue Part Two

“You felt that too?” Phillip asked. “Yeah, I felt it when we bumped into each other as well.” Venia says acting as if she’s surprised. “Me too, I just didn’t want to say anything. I’ve heard stories about this kind of thing. Would you mind joining me for coffee to further discuss this?” Phillip asked. “I’d love to.” Venia says. So, Venia and Phillip went to the local diner for a coffee and Phillip told her that his mother was very into the Gods and Goddesses and heard what it felt like to be to soulmate of a God or Goddess. That was the same feeling that they felt every time they touched. “Are you a Goddess, Venia?” Phillip asked. “Yes, Phillip. I am and you’re right we are soulmates, I just wanted to make sure that you felt it before I said anything.” Veni said. Phillip and Venia began spending lots of time together and Auriol didn’t like it. So, after five years of Venia living on Earth with Phillip, her human mate, being married to him and having his children, Auriol enacted his plan to hurt Venia as much as she hurt him. One night before the full moon, Auriol cast a curse over Venia’s husband causing him to turn into a Lycan on the night of the full moon and slaughtering their three children. Venia came running outside after hearing the screams of her children to see a beast murdering her children, so she did what she had to try and save her children. She stabbed the monster in the heart. “Venia... I’m so sorry... I love you...” Phillip crying out as he changed from the monster back to himself and died in Venia’s arms. “What? No! Phillip!” Venia screamed. “Oh, poor Venia. Looks like you won’t be getting your happy ending after all.” Auriol said from behind her. “You did this?” Venia asked through her sobs. “Yes, maybe next time you’ll think about who you hurt.” Auriol said and then left. “Oh, just wait and see Auriol.” Venia said under her breath, forming a revenge plan. Unbeknownst to Auriol, Venia was pregnant with her fourth child from her mate, so she used the same curse Auriol did on her husband on her unborn child. Though she meant it as a blessing, so that her children could protect themselves from Auriol in the future. Not to long after Auriol cursed Venia’s mate to kill their children, he found his mate and she was also human. Auriol had never seen a human woman so beautiful in his immortal life, she was even more beautiful than Aphrodite, herself. Auriol went to her, and they fell in love. Venia watched as Auriol become happy with his mate destined for him by his parents long ago, and as she watched them, she knew just what she would do. Auriol seemed to have forgotten what he did to Venia and married his human soulmate. They spent seven beautiful together when Venia enacted her revenge. Venia came for Auriol’s wife and two of his three children. She placed a curse over them so that in the morning when the kids went out to play, they would be burned alive by the sun. Venia planned the same for his wife except that right before she dies Venia will lift the force field, keeping Auriol from saving his family. Allowing Auriol one last minute with his wife, she is also giving this curse to the baby so that Auriol will know what it’s like to have your family ripped from you. The next morning Venia’s plan starts with Auriol's two children going outside. Once they’re outside the sun begins burning their skin and they start screaming and crying. Auriol’s wife Hannah runs outside seeing her children in flames but before she could reach them, she too burst into flames. “Auriol!? What's happening? Help us!” Hannah yells while crawling towards their children. Auriol tries leaving the cabin in which they live but it’s no use. He's been blocked inside, forced to watch his family die. “Ari? Please help me? Our children are dead.” Hannah cries out, pleading with Auriol to help her. “I can’t something is blocking me from leaving the cabin.” Auriol says with tears streaming down his face. He keeps pressing against the forced field trapping him inside, until it’s released, and he stumbles outside. Running to his wife and children, he picks them up and brings them inside. But it’s too late, for any of them. “Hannah, my love. I'm so sorry this happened to us. I love you so much. I will find out how this happened, and I will avenge you and the kids.” Auriol says holding his dying wife. “Ari, it’s okay. We had a beautiful life together. And we still have a daughter that will need you. Tell her I love her and will be watching over you and her. Til we see each other again, my love. I love you.” Hannah says, sighing for the last time and dies in Auriol’s arms. “Are you happy now, Auriol?” Venia asked from behind him. “You? You did this to me? To my children? My wife? Why?” Auriol asked as he continued to sit on the ground holding his dead wife and children. “How can you say that you don’t know why I would do something like this to you? Huh? After all I took pointers from you.” Venia said devoid of all emotion. “Seven years, Venia. You waited seven years to come for me and you came for my children? And my soulmate?” Auriol questioned again. “You need to know what it’s like to be forced to watch as your children lay dying and there’s nothing you could do about it. At least I didn’t make you have to kill your soulmate to try and save you children.” Venia said, then she left. And that is how it all started. Werewolves came first, then vampires. We've always been rivals but some of us prefer to remain friendly unless attacked.
