“Better hurry up then,” McCready said. “Another round? Buck?” “I’ll take one,” Tom agreed. He wasn’t in the mood to drink. He wasn’t in the mood to do much of anything, if he was being completely honest. He’d been feeling good after his dinner with Jess, and he’d been riding even higher after the accident. That had lasted a few days, then his mood had crashed, and he was in an even worse mood than he had been previously. But he agreed to take the beer just the same.
