You Love Her

Clara had a smug smile of fulfilment after Ivy left. She has always wanted this. This was what she had always hoped for, and she couldn't hold back her excitement, knowing that what she had ever wanted had finally come to pass.
She would soon officially get married to the great Alpha Damian Blackwood and become his Luna. A Luna to a billionaire alpha.
Damian's sister, Samantha, stormed towards Damian. "How could you do that?" she questioned him.
"Do what?" Damian shrugs his shoulders.
"How could you humiliate your wife out in the open? On your wedding anniversary." Samantha was clearly annoyed.
"She had it coming when she couldn't provide an heir for me. If she can't handle the truth, that's not my problem," Damian said firmly, without remorse.
"You both were married for just a year. A YEAR. It's your one-year anniversary today, for crying out loud." Samantha announced.
"That was enough for her to prove that she was fertile. That she wasn't barren." Damian uttered.
"You're unbelievable!" Samantha shook her head. "You know father wouldn't have accepted this if he were alive."
"Enough with what father would accept or not. Clara has been the one I loved and always wanted right from the beginning," Damian revealed. "I just got married to Ivy and marked as my mate because my wolf chose her and because my father wanted her as his daughter-in-law. I had to obey my father so as to become the next alpha and not allow Lucian to become the alpha."
He took a sip from his wine and continued, "But now, father is dead and I'm the alpha now. So, I'm free to do whatever I please. After all, my mother is in full support of my relationship with Clara. Mother knows what's truly best for me."
"Alpha Damian!" The driver's voice came through, "The Luna... the luna left with..."
"Not now Gabriel." Damian cut him off abruptly. "Leave me alone now. I don't have time for your silly talks," he said and dismissed him. He didn't want to be disturbed at the moment.
The driver was hesitant to leave, but he eventually backed down. "Yes, alpha. Sorry for disturbing you." the driver apologized, then turned to leave.
"It seems he has something to say about Ivy," Samantha commented.
"I don't care. I don't want to hear anything about her." Damian grumbled.
"You are unbelievable." Samantha expressed her disappointment in him and left his presence.
Clara hooked one of her hands around Damian and rubbed her protruding belly with the other one while smiling. She looked radiant, and her skin glowed with a healthy pregnancy sheen.
Damian's gaze flickered to her belly, and for a moment, he felt a pang of something. But it wasn't guilt or regret. It was something else entirely, more like a sense of fulfillment.
Clara's eyes met his as she continued smiling with her lips curling up.
"Damian, oh my God, I just saw on the news that..." Samantha exclaimed as she approached him with her eyes filled with worry but trailed off when she saw the smug expression on Clara's face as she stood beside Damian.
Damian's eyes narrowed. What has Samantha seen on the news? And why does she look so worried?
"Saw what, Samantha?" Damian asked her firmly.
Samantha took a deep breath before continuing, "I just saw on the news on my phone that there was an accident on the highway, a very bad one. It says it's between a truck and a car. The highway is on total lockdown now."
Samantha's gaze locked with Damian's to see if there were any signs of alarm or concern. But there was nothing.
"And how's that our problem if there was an accident?" Damian asked flatly.
"You know... Ivy... She left just now angry..." she trailed off, her voice trembling with worry. "Do you think... she might be... I don't know.. maybe she's..?
"If she was involved in the accident?" Damian asked again.
"Yeah. I've been trying to call her, but she's not picking up my calls."
"She's angry right now. She wouldn't want to talk to you or anyone right now." Clara spoke up, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "And stop worrying over nothing. Maybe Ivy didn't drive through the highway. And even if she did..."
"I wasn't talking to you," Samantha snapped at her and then turned to Damian. "We need to find her and make sure she's okay. We can't just stand here and speculate whether she was involved in the accident or not. Damian, can you please try to reach her or send some of the men to look for her?"
Damian hesitated but eventually nodded curtly, "I don't care if Ivy was involved in the car accident or not." he said, feeling nonchalant. "But I'll send some men to check on her since you insist."
Samantha snorted, with her eyes rolling in exasperation. "Oh, come on Damian. Don't pretend that you have no feelings for Ivy. You and I know you love that girl even if you kept denying it. I know you still care about her and would want to make sure she is safe. And besides, you know Ivy might drive past that highway."
Damian shot Samantha a warning glance, but her expression remained hard.
"I already said I'll get some men to look for her. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to make some calls." Damian said firmly.
Samantha's eyes flashed with annoyance, but she knew better than to push Damian further. She turned on her heel and walked away from Damian and Clara.
Clara attempted to hold Damian's arm so that he wouldn't make the call. But before she could, Damian turned to her and said, "Excuse me, I need to make some calls."
Clara took a step closer to him and held his arm nevertheless, "You know you don't have to bother yourself and make that call to know if Ivy is okay or not, right? It's not like she's someone important to you. Or is she?" She asked.
"She's not important to me. You and our unborn baby are the most precious to me. I just need to make sure Ivy is fine since Samantha insisted." Damian removed her hands from his arm and attempted to head for the door.
Just then, Samantha rushed back to where they stood, her face etched with urgency. "Damian, it's Ivy," she screamed, with her voice trembling. "Her car was found on the highway."
