‎Tyson Miller leaned back in his chair as he listened to his team's final remark. After an intense hour of brainstorming, Tyson finally adjourned the meeting. ‎"Alright, I think that covers everything. Next week, we'll gather again to discuss the finances." ‎The team nodded and started gathering their belongings. Tyson also stood up and smoothed his well-tailored suit. With a curt nod at the team, he turned to leave, but Fred, his PA, stopped him at the doorway. ‎"Sir, I'm sorry to interrupt you, but you need to see this," Fred said, his voice urgent as he stretched out his iPad to him. ‎Tyson's face flashed with serious annoyance, couldn't he just wait for him to get to his office before showing him whatever was so important? He valued efficiency, he hated interruptions. ‎"You should have waited till I got to my office or left the meeting room at least," Tyson spat as he grabbed the iPad from him. ‎"If it wasn't urgent, I wouldn't have bothered you, sir. I just saw it on the news just now that's why I'm immediately showing it to you." Fred explained, with his voice calm and polite. ‎Tyson scanned the screen and his eyes locked on the bold letters that read: IVY BLACKWOOD; WIFE OF BILLIONAIRE DAMIAN BLACKWOOD IS BELIEVED TO BE AMONG THE VICTIMS OF A FATAL ACCOUNT. ‎"It's the accident on the highway. Many of the bodies involved are unidentifiable, and your sister, Ivy, hasn't been found yet." Fred explained, but the only words Tyson picked up were 'accident', 'Ivy', 'unidentifiable', and 'not found'. ‎A cold dread crept up Tyson's spine. His sister, the only family he had left, was a victim of that fatal accident that happened days ago. And she hasn't been found yet?" ‎Tyson's face darkened, and his wolf almost jumped out as his eyes turned golden for a split second, but he managed to keep himself in check so as not to expose himself to his workers, who are humans. He flung the iPad back to Fred, "What do you mean they can't identify the victims?" he growled loudly with his heart racing. "Get me the chief of police on the phone. Now," his voice thundered in the meeting room. ‎Fred took a step back with his eyes widening slightly at Tyson's outburst. Fred fumbled with the iPad, trying to get the chief of police on the phone. Meanwhile, Tyson wasn't done giving orders. ‎"Get me every detail about the accident, I want to know everything." Tyson said, clutching his forehead, and began pacing in the room as all the eyes of his team that hadn't left were on him. But he wasn't bothered, his mind was playing the worst case scenario. ‎Fred nodded, his fingers flying across the iPad screen. "I'm on it, sir. But I've to warn you, the news is saying it's a devastating scene. There are multiple fatalities, and the authorities are still trying to identify the victims." ‎Tyson's jaw clenched. He felt a cold sweat break out on his forehead as he struggled to maintain his composure and keep himself in check. ‎Tyson stopped pacing around and turned to Fred as if finally realizing something. "Forget the chief of police. Did the article say which hospital Ivy is in?" ‎"Yes. It says all the victims are at the city hospital." Fred answered. ‎"Okay. Let's go there now." Tyson ordered. ‎Fred hesitated for a moment, then said, "Maybe you should call her husband, CEO Damian, to hear from him if they've found her." ‎"I said let's go there now!" Tyson growled loudly, shocking Fred and the other team members present. "Who are you to give me orders?" ‎"I'm sorry sir. I'm sorry." Fred apologized, scared. ‎ ‎Tyson doesn't want to call Damian. News has been cycling among the werewolves and other members of their pack that Damian has publicly rejected Ivy as his mate and denounced her as his Luna. He has been trying to call Ivy for days now, to ask her and confirm if it was true but he hasn't been able to reach her. ‎She has told him about the celebration of their one-year anniversary, but he has refused to attend because he did not approve of her marrying Alpha Damian. Tyson knew that Damian didn't love Ivy. But their father had insisted they must marry since their wolves chose each other as mates. ‎ ‎************ ‎ ‎Damian stood in front of the morgue, his feet were rooted to the spot. The news he had received a few minutes ago echoed in his mind, the news says a woman matching Ivy's description has been found and was at this very morgue. ‎He didn't want to go inside, he didn't want to face the possibility that the person on the slab could be Ivy. He has been searching for her everywhere for the past few days, but not like this. Not in a morgue. Not as a dead body. ‎Damian took a deep breath, steeling himself for what was to come. He had come alone when the news reached him. He knew he had to know and make sure it was Ivy himself before letting the news out. ‎With a heavy heart, he pushed open the door of the morgue and stepped inside. The chill from the air conditioner enveloped him, and the antiseptic smell of disinfectants filled his nostrils. ‎He saw rows of stainless steel tables lined the room, each one bearing a body covered with sheets. ‎"Good day, Mr Damian. I'm Doctor Bennett. I'll be assisting you with the body identification." An attendant who was dressed in a white lab coat greeted Damian while stretching his hand forward for a handshake. ‎Damian ignored the outstretched hand, his eyes were fixed on the doctor. "Where is she?" ‎Dr. Bennett's expression turned sympathetic, but his voice was still neutral. "Please, follow me, Mr Damian." ‎Damian trailed behind the doctor with his heart hammering in his chest. He braced himself for what he was about to see, while holding that the person wouldn't be Ivy.
