The Incident
The next day Emily’s nightmare had become a reality. She was sitting on a stool in front of two men in an empty room.
Am I still dreaming?
Emily’s eyes were open, but strangely, she couldn’t move her body or remember waking up. She had no idea how she ended up in the cold, sterile room. It felt like she had been frozen, or placed in some kind of hypnotic state, though she was completely aware of her surroundings. One of the men standing above her looked like some sort of doctor in a white lab coat. He looked down at her with a kind, gentle expression. The other man was dressed in a suit and tie.
