Chapter Six The Recalibration The guards escorted Dr. Levinson and Emily down a long corridor. “This is an outrage!” the doctor shouted, struggling in their grasp. They entered a room and the guards placed Emily on the edge of a bed and left, resetting the door lock behind them. After trying to open the door with his fingertip and failing, the doctor angrily paced the room. Then he sat down next to Emily. Though still in a state of shock, Emily tried to accept what she had just learned. She had always felt different than everyone else, lonely and disconnected from the rest of the world.
