Chapter 1
Slowly, I regained my consciousness.
I groaned and opened my eyes.
The ceiling spun in my vision, forcing me to close my eyes once again and wait for the dizziness to pass.
When I tried to observe my surroundings again, I realized that I was lying in a familiar room.
Only the windows were tightly shrouded by heavy curtains, and the light seeping through the door crevice indicated that it should still be daytime outside or that the lights were on.
I tried to sit up, only to find my wrists bound by something.
Looking down, I realized that a silk scarf had tied my right wrist to the railing of the bed.
This is absurdly ridiculous. I was actually tied to the bed like a prisoner by my own family!
“Is anyone there?” I shouted, my voice hoarse from thirst. “Let me go!”
The door opened, and Jenny walked in with a glass of water.
“You’re awake.” Jenny sat by the bed and handed the water glass to my lips, “Have a drink of water first.”
I abruptly turned my head away, spilling some water on the quilt. “You drugged me? And tied me up? Are you crazy?”
“Janet, listen to me.”
It was rare to see her talking to me so gentle. She even begged a little.
“What are you saying? That you planned for me to sleep with Tim, your fiance?” My voice trembled with anger.
“I…We have no choice!” Jenny also raised her voice, “If Tim knows that I’m not a virgin, there will be no wedding.”
I sneered, “So I’m supposed to be the expendable lamb?”
“You’re not expendable,” Jenny held my hand, “You’re my sister. We share the same blood. Your body is almost the same as mine, even down to the DNA.”
“Shut up!” I felt a wave of nausea. “Half! And you make me sick.”
“This is the only way. We will compensate you after I get married.”
“Compensation?” I tugged at the restraint on my wrist. “How?”
The door opened again.
“Janet, I’m sorry.” my father came in, his eyes brimming with tears.
“We have no way out. Our company relies on Cooper Group’s investment.”
“So you came up with this despicable idea? Making me a stand-in?” I forcefully sat up, my back propped against the bedhead, my voice trembling.
“Do you have any idea what you’re doing? Making me go and f**k my half-sister’s fiancé? Are you crazy?” I felt a surge of nausea in my stomach.
My father’s tears finally fell down, “Please help the family. Help Jenny. She knew she was wrong.”
“She knew she was wrong?” I repeated, “Which one?”
“The one that she stole my boyfriend and got herself pregnant?” I couldn’t help laughing. “Karma is a bitch.”
My thoughts flashed back to three months ago, when Eric, my now former boyfriend, came to visit my home, or rather my parents’.
I usually lived in the apartment near Cooper Group. On that particular day, I went back for an old rare book I left behind. I felt surprised that Eric came to my parents’.
I suddenly understood why when I saw Jenny spin around, trying to check out her reflection from every single angle. Mostly her butt. She seemed pretty fascinated with her ass, so she always wanted to show it off.
“That dress looks really nice on you,” he declared with a soft smile curling up the corners of his lips.
As Jenny stepped closer to him, he took her hand and spun her so she stood in front of him, face to face.
“Smells delicious.” He grabbed her hair and smelled.
He couldn’t take his eyes off of Jenny. There was something there in his eyes, something flickering.
Jenny leaned over to him and kiss him passionately. At the same time, she turned both of them around slowly until she faced me.
She winked at me over Eric’s shoulder, smiling in silence. A winner’s smile. She knew I was hiding and watching. She did it on purpose.
She didn’t kiss his lips for long. She lowered down to her knees between his thighs.
He knotted his fingers up in her hair as she ran kisses up and down.
Soon, Eric groaned. “Aren’t you an angel? I feel like I am in heaven.”
I stood there dumbfounded.
“It wasn’t real,” I told myself. Only it was.
“An angel to you, but a devil to me.” My inner thoughts mocked.
Call me emotional masochist. I didn’t know why I still stood there, but I did.
Jenny knew I was still watching. She stood up to continue her performance. She liked audience, which made her important, and made her more thrilled.
She slid the straps of her dress off her shoulders, allowing her breasts to bounce free.
Eric inspected her body with lascivious intent, caressing her creamy white skin with eager, grasping hands.
I calmly viewed the erotic spectacle as Eric flicked his big wet tongue out and ran it up the back of Eric’s thigh before planting a soft, sensual kiss on one of her ample cheeks.
As he rose back up to his feet, he turned to her and pulled her close, sharing a deep, loving kiss as his hands exploring her body, feeling the smoothness of the shiny red dress with her soft fingers.
Eric then proceeded to undress Jenny, peeling the dress from her soft body before gently pushing her back onto the nearby sofa.
Jenny sat down and leaned back, resting her head on the sofa. Eric dropped to his knees and prompted her to spread her sexy legs apart. He lowered his face and pressed his lips to her thigh.
“You are so good.” Jenny groaned. But her laughing eyes were locked on mine.
I suddenly came to my senses. I turned around, found the book in my room and left.
Eric was my boyfriend, but we never had physical intimacy. He complained about it, but I never gave in.
In my subconscious, he would be taken away from me by Jenny, like everything I loved.
Now she got her retribution. She had to pay for her licentiousness.
No, I had to pay for her licentiousness. It was unfair.
