The Playboy's Bride

Episode 3

Ben saw Ethan proposing Sabrina through the glass door and saw this as an opportunity to promote La Praire. He asked his staff to click few photos and forward it to the all the local news channels. This was one of the big news for the media. Ethan Dyson the heir to Ronaldo Dyson, the city's playboy who never had a serious relationship and was known for his flings and scandals down on his knee proposing to a girl who was completely from a different world. This was like finding a treasure for the media, and soon few reporters started gathering around La Praire. They clicked photos and tried to get inside for an exclusive interview.

Sabrina smiled while looking at the ring but all she felt was sad inside. She always thought if she ever got married it would be only if she loved someone as she saw her parents' marriage. She had never imagined in her wildest dream that her marriage would merely be a contract deal. She got up from her seat still trying to accept what was happening in her life, when Ethan suddenly came close to her and wrapped his arms around her. She was surprised, she knew it was for the show but her body trembled. When she hugged him back, she had goosebumps all over her body. He felt her trembling beneath his arms so he whispered in her ears to calm down as people were watching them. He then held her hand and walked out of the lounge. The reporters outside clicked photos of the newly engaged couple, and few rushed to even interview the lady in Ethan Dyson's life but Ethan stopped them from interviewing her. He announced that he was getting married to his fiancee standing next to him on the 2nd of August and then he waved at his bodyguard to escort Sabrina inside and told Ben to take care of her and to see that no interviewers gets to her. He waved the reporters goodbye and left La Praire.

Sabrina was back in the kitchen where everyone was congratulating her but Ken turned his face away from her. She understood how this sudden news might make him feel, last night he supported her so much and today he was like a stranger . He suddenly screamed at everyone to get back to work. She knew he was hurt, but right now there was nothing she could do. She could not even tell him the reason for her drastic step but she wished she could to make him understand her situation. She continued with her work as usual amongst the stares from her colleagues. Everything was different within a matter of hours, everybody looked at her differently even her boss. She received a text from Ethan saying that he will be drop her home from La Praire at the end of her shift as he wanted to meet her family. She protested at first but then Ethan was very adamant as he said that they had to progress everything as soon as possible as they had only few weeks left.  She had to agree even though she didn't  want to. Whenever Ethan was around she felt all different kinds of emotions and the strange dream about him last night where he came so close to her. All these thoughts were confusing Sabrina, she couldn't fall for him she reminded herself. He is not the guy a girl wants to spend her life with and to top it all he was a millionaire and she was a assistant chef struggling in her life. A millionaire and a playboy are the two red lights that she always had to  remember when she was with him. She was going to be the bride to the playboy so she had to be careful so that she doesn't get hurt and there are no complications in this marriage, sorry contract marriage.

The day passed quite fast, and she was to be picked up by Ethan. She was very nervous to meet him and he would meet her family that was wrecking every nerve in her body. She changed from her chef's uniform into her comfortable tee and jeans. She thought to herself she looked nothing like the girls Ethan dated, all the girls were so decked up and pretty. She kept wondering why he chose her while looking at herself. Meanwhile, she received a text from Ethan asking her to meet him outside. As she was leaving , Ken was leaving too she wished him goodnight but he saw Ethan in the car looking at them and he just left. Sabrina felt very upset cause it was because of her he was hurt she thought, she looked down and walked towards the car. She entered the car and saw Ethan in the backseat with a strange look on his face. 

Ethan asked Sabrina, " Who was that guy, you looked upset when he turned away? Is that your boyfriend?". Sabrina snapped saying it was none of his business who she talks to and that she would do her job properly and like he said before there are no strings attached so her private life is off limits. Ethan turned to her and replied, "You are going to be my wife so boyfriends in picture are not off limit as it might impact our credibility and I can't take any risks." She just turned away as she couldn't argue with him at that moment. She looked outside through the window, she already felt trapped and didn't know what to do. As they were about to reach home, Sabrina briefed Ethan about all her family members and Ronda and Jerry as well. This was the first time she brought a guy to meet her mother and it wasn't even real. She had informed Karla, she would be  coming home with her boyfriend and if Ronda would be able to take the shift at the hospital . When she reached home with Ethan she was surprised to see everyone was home even Ronda and Jerry. She enquired who was at the hospital when Karla informed Ethan had arranged a private nurse to look over her father and if there was any emergency they would be informed to come to the hospital as the operation was successful. Sabrina hadn't received any good news in a long time, she  was so happy she hugged her mother. Then she turned to Ethan and thanked him with a smile. Everyone in her family gathered around Ethan and started serving him with food, talking to him and thanking him for all his help. Karla told Ethan that her daughter had been so busy with all the work, taking care of everyone in the family, she wasn't even  sure if she would ever have the time to find someone but now she so happy to see Ethan. In the meanwhile, Ronda and Kiara called Sabrina to the kitchen and were super eager to know things. They asked if this was "The famous Ethan Dyson from the Dyson family" as they saw and read about him and his lifestyle. They were a little worried as he was known for his flings but then Sabrina explained them that was before they met and also they had to cover up the fact they were dating as they were from totally two different societies. She somehow managed to explain and get out of the situation but now the bigger problem was still awaiting, she had to explain Karla about the wedding. But when she reached outside she saw Karla rushing towards her and hugging her. Karla was all emotional and said, "I can't believe my daughter is getting married. Ethan told me everything and asked your hand in marriage. I am so happy you found him and he found you." Everybody was surprised and congratulated the newly engaged couple. Everyone asked to see the ring, Ronda and Kiara were mesmerised by the ring and called her a lucky girl and she thought to herself if only they knew. After dinner, she walked Ethan out and said, " I know this is a contract and we are helping each other but whatever you are doing it is a lot and I am grateful to you." Ethan smiled and said," Anything  for my bride". He then left while Sabrina stood there thinking maybe he isn't that bad maybe unlike what the tabloids wrote about him. She went back inside and had a long chat with everyone after a very long time, everyone laughed and talked and discussed about the wedding and Ethan. Sabrina was happy initially but then the whole picture made her sad again, what will happen if they ever found out or when the contract was over. But then Kiara and Chris started joking around  and teasing Sabrina and she forgot all about it. It was a fun night at her house, she went to bed smiling after hugging her mother. She received a call  from Ethan saying "Hey, I  will be picking you up in the morning as we have to finish off some work tomorrow". Sabrina said she couldn't go as she had work maybe on the weekend they could complete the work but Ethan said he had already informed Ben and since this is her job too she should put equal amount of effort. This made the smile disappeared from her face, the happiness in the house made her forget for a moment he was actually her employer now not just in the marriage and  but even at the restaurant as he pre booked La Praire as well. She realized all that he had done earlier was a part of the contract and she tried to not forget it again. She couldn't fight it so replied, "Okay, I will be ready. "

The next day she woke and informed Ben she wouldn't be coming in to which Ben replied that he was already informed and she should concentrate on her wedding preparations and if she requires any help to let him know. She thought to herself a day or two back he wasn't even ready to give her leave to visit the hospital but now since Ethan was involved because of his wealth and power the same Ben was so kind towards her. Money changes people faster than anything else in the world she thought. Sabrina got ready and asked her mother to go to the hospital once even if the private nurse was there. She had breakfast with her family, a peaceful breakfast without rushing first time in years. Karla was very peaceful and Chris and Kiara went on with teasing Sabrina about Ethan and how she dressed differently for him. She was nervous  as Ethan was a little unpredictable and also first time she thought about appearance as well. She wasn't sure where he would be taking her, so she tried to get out of comfort sweats.  She wore a summer dress that she got as a gift from Ronda but never had a chance to wear and let her hair down. She looked different that morning and everybody at home complimented her but still she wasn't sure if she looked okay. Ethan called her to inform her he had arrived and asked her to come out.

Ethan drove the car today and as he looked out of his window and saw her coming out his heart skipped a beat . She looked so beautiful in that yellow dress with her hair down he thought.  He had not seen her dressed up or relaxed up until now. But he couldn't get involved he reminded himself as she was quite different from the girls he is used to dating. She was simple, hard-working and not a person who could handle a fling and he had to keep all his focus on his goal. He wasn't just doing this for the property like he told Sabrina but for something that was very special to him. Sabrina came inside the car and asked Ethan where they were going. Ethan explained her that the reporters did their job and they were all all over the news last night and so his family wanted to meet the future Mrs.Dyson. Sabrina had never been into entertainment news or media cover stories and she hardly got time so she was not updated about the news which involved her. She couldn't believe she was on news and now she had to meet the wealthiest family of the town. Everything was happening so fast that she didn't even have time to ask Ethan about his family earlier and now she had to meet them, she didn't know what to say to them or how to behave in front of them. She was very nervous and didn't feel that she was dressed for the occasion. She kept fidgeting with her hand which Ethan noticed, he put his hand on hers and asked her to relax. She immediately pulled her hand away, she felt her cheeks and ears getting all warm. Every-time she was close to him she felt this wave of emotions which made her scared. In the meanwhile, Ethan told her that he had spoke to everyone last night after the news came out and everything would be exactly what they told Sabrina's mother and they knew she worked at La Praire . He said the only people who mattered in the family crowd will be his grandparents and most importantly his grandfather. Apart from them his stepmother  and stepsister would be there and they might poke around with questions because she was with him but she had to stay calm and if anything he will step in. His father  and stepbrother might  not be there but she didn't need to be bothered much with them. Sabrina felt he had a very distant relationship with his father. 

As they approached the Dyson family house, Sabrina saw security guards rushing to open the huge gate. It was a house out of the movies, as Ethan drove through the driveway she got more and more nervous. After getting out of the car, he held her hand which surprised her and said, " Ready to meet the family future wife." She nodded and walked with him, holding his hand made her safe to her surprise. They walked inside they were greeted by household help who guided them to the living room where everybody was sitting. The living room seemed so much bigger than her entire house. They all looked incredible dressed up like actors in movies. 

Ronaldo and his wife, Rita Dyson got up to welcome Sabrina and asked her to take a seat. They were very warm unlike the other members in the room. Ethan introduced everyone to Sabrina and then he told them that they would be getting married on the 2nd of the coming month. He made more of an announcement rather than a permission. Apart from Ethan's grandparents nobody else seemed to be excited by the news. His father wasn't even there during the announcement. However, Ethan's stepmother Alisha was the first to speak, she enquired about Sabrina's family, about what her status and then teased her saying, "You must have some talent to make Ethan ready to settle." Ronaldo interrupted Alisha and saved Sabrina saying, "I was surprised that Ethan finally decided to settle down and this is the happiest day of my life. I don't care about anything as long as my grandson and you both have a happy family. I wished Ethan to settle down and have kids, join the family business but Ethan's lifestyle made me lose hope and I am taking strict actions as well so when the news came in yesterday I was very happy that I will at least see Ethan settle before my death if not my great grandkids." Sabrina noticed that everyone suddenly was quiet and  then Rita changed the topic, they started talking about other things and soon lunch was served. Ronaldo said that they didn't have much time and the wedding preparations had to be started immediately but Ethan was against a big wedding. He just wanted a court wedding and that was what he discussed with Sabrina as well. But Ronaldo had something else in mind, after all it was his grandson's wedding and even Ethan couldn't get himself out of it. Sabrina was amazed to see how much Ethan  loved his grandfather as he was usually cold or unattached to most of the other members even in the family .  He ignored his stepmother through out the lunch as she made sarcastic remarks in between and didn't bother much with his siblings and neither did they bother with him. But overall, the purpose of the meeting was fulfilled. As they were leaving, Ethan's grandmother requested him to come home for dinners and now since the wedding preparation would begin in the Dyson manor if he would move back in. He hugged her and said he will try to come for dinner. Ethan's stepmother didn't look very happy and everyone bid Sabrina and Ethan goodbye.

As they were driving back home, Ethan thanked Sabrina for the afternoon. Sabrina got a little inquisitive and asked where he lived and why he didn't live with his family but then she regretted when Ethan replied, "It won't make any difference in the contract why I don't live with my family so don't worry about that. And about my house, I will show you the house soon. " Ethan stopped his car in front of a designer store and said, "Lets go shopping, we need to buy clothes for the functions and meetings. I know you will say no but please understand this is very important for us. You can buy anything you want and also purchase for your family as well. This is really important for the wedding so please don't be upset, I know you are comfortable in what you wear and you look amazing . Even I didn't want a big function but I have to agree to it for my grandfather and these functions are very elaborate . The shopping wont be over in a day, you have to come back again for the wedding outfit and everything. " Sabrina was overwhelmed even to react, she felt a little insulted but she knew she had to at least look the part seeing his family members today. They got down and went inside a store, everything looked beautiful. Ethan spoke to the store manager and stylist and asked them to help Sabrina out with outfits for the pre wedding functions and parties . She was never tended like this before in any store, after an hour of trials she selected few dresses and came out. The manager informed Ethan was  was waiting outside and the bill was sent to him. The bags were packed and a person helped her carry it to the car but Sabrina  stopped walking towards the car when she saw a girl next to Ethan, her hand was on his shoulder while they were talking. The girl was very beautiful, tall and had a flawless complexion and Sabrina thought to herself maybe she was one of his girlfriends. Was he still dating, how could he have such a double standard personality when she spoke to Ken yesterday that too for a moment he went all bossy on her, doesn't it make her look bad when he is with someone else and what about the contract then. Sabrina was getting very angry and she didn't understand why. After the girl left, she asked the boy who was carrying her shopping bags to help her to the car. She was so angry that she didn't even look at Ethan, she just got inside the car and kept quiet for the entire way back to her house. Ethan tried to started a conversation but she kept nodding in yes or no which made him curious about what had happened, While getting down from the car she turned to Ethan and said, " I know you have many girlfriends and flings and since everything is public even you should not have affairs in the open like you mentioned yesterday or else it will impact the contract." She picked up her bags and went inside without listening to any response from Ethan.
