Chapter SixCelesta was in the sitting room with Giles trying to coax him into a better temper. She realised that he had not completely slept off the amount of drink he had consumed the night before and she looked with consternation at the dark lines under his eyes. He appeared much older than he should have and there was no doubt, she thought, that his character had changed since he had lived in London. It was difficult to recognise that he was the same fun delightful brother whom she had loved as a child.
