Chapter 2- Nandini Verma!

Nandini POV:-

" Nandini, I know you had an exam today and you took a day off. However, there is a problem with Mr. Bhatia's daughter's marriage preparation. Can you please go and look at it? " My boss, Naresh, asked.

" Boss, I took half a day off. So, I can peacefully take my exam and enjoy two hours with my family. But you called me before my exam started. That's not good, boss. " I replied.

" I know, Nandini. But you need to do this. You know this is important for us. He is a big party. If we lose him, we will have a major loss. So, please. I know I can believe in you in the problem. " The boss replied. I held a sigh in defeat.

" Alright, but I will need tomorrow's day off and you will not cut my salary. " I stated, and I heard his sigh of relief.

" Sure! " He replied and cut the call. I called my mother immediately.

" Hello! " I heard my mother's soft voice and it made me calm immediately.

" Maa! I know I promised today's lunch with you and Mahi, but I can't come. I have important work. " I stated, and I heard a huff.

" No, you won't go anywhere. They haven't given you a day off. You have been working continuously for the last three months. You are losing weight, Nandu. At this rate, you will fall sick. " Mom stated in a concerned voice.

" Maa, don't worry. I asked for a day off from my boss. I won't do any work tomorrow and spend my whole day with you. So, please I need to go, maa. " I stated, and she sighed in defeat. It told me I won this conversation.

" Alright! But when will you come home? " Mom replied and asked.

" 9:30 p.m. " I replied, and she hummed. I cut the call and went to the banquet hall.

Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Nandini Verma. I am 23 and taking my final exams for B.A. English honours. I also have a diploma in computer applications and I know everything about web designing. I know you guys are wondering why I am doing a job as a manager.

Well, I learned about web designing because I want to start my own business but for that, I need to have money and experience. I wanted to start my own catering company. The company I am working for is new. So, it's a better experience for me to work. Now, you guys are wondering why I am doing B.A. English Honours. I should do business management. The fact is I want to become a writer. I am always a fan of novels. So, I want to write novels. That's the reason, I decided to finish my B.A. in English honors. I think that's enough about me. In my family, I don't have a father. My father died when my sister was one year old and I was six years old.

Now, there is my mother, me, and my little sister.

When I reached the banquet hall we got the contract of the marriage arrangements. I entered and I was shocked to see so many errors. Mr. Bhatia saw me and before he could say anything. I touched his feet. He is 65 years old. He is like my grandma. So, I said, " Namaste, sir. I know there are so many errors. Don't worry. I will handle everything. You will get everything you want by 6.30 p.m. "

" Good! Don't disappoint me. " He stated and left. I sighed. Good thing, I wore a professional shirt and jeans. I put on the brazer I had in my bag in case of emergency. I went to all the places where I needed to make some changes. I gave orders to the staff. I could see they were in relief to see me. They did everything I said.

Like I said to Mr. Bhatia, everything got ready at 6.30 p.m.

I was looking at everything, when I felt a pat on my shoulder. I turned and found Mr. Bhatia.

" Well done, Nandini. Why don't you start working as my HR manager in my company? I will give you the senior post where you will earn 40 thousand rupees. " Mr. Bhatia stated seeing my hard work.

" Sir, I am loyal to my company. My company believed me when no one believed me. I am happy in my company. " I replied and he smiled.

" Think about it. Here is my card. Call me whenever you like to join my company. " He stated and left. I smiled and put his card in my pouch. I turned towards my junior. He looked relieved.

" We have a party to manage. I am going there. Make sure here there won't be any problem for our clients. " I stated and he nodded.

I left the venue. I opened my phone and saw it was 6.35 pm. I opened Google to check the location of the party. It was 30 minutes walk to reach there. I need to reach there at 7.15 pm. So, I started to walk while looking around my surroundings. As I was walking towards the main road, I could see a lot of cars. There is a market and park near the main road. So, many teen couples, adults, and elders are walking while talking to their partners or friends. Many children are talking to their friends or parents. I adored children. I always wished to have twins and wanted to adopt a child. So, at least one orphan can get a home where he/she is welcomed warmly and lives a happy life.

I saw a little girl whose ball fell from her hands and the ball goes towards the main road. Her father didn't see that and that child ran towards the main road where a man was driving very fast towards her. I ran towards her with my phone in my hands. I pushed her and looked at that expensive car.

That man's eyes widened and his car bumped on my knees and rolled on the car and fell on the ground. I heard my phone's ring tone. I felt weak and tired. But with so much difficulty I looked at my phone. My screen cracked, and I raised my hand towards my phone to pick it up. I could see throw my angle, my mother was calling me. But before I could reach my phone, I heard a truck's horn. I looked at the truck who rolled his tyres on my legs. I screamed in pain and everything turned black.
