Chapter 3- Accident!

Varun POV:-

After finishing my work, I looked at my watch which shows 6 p.m. I stood from my chair and went towards the elevator. I saw Arjun who looked at me and asked, " Can I come with you? "

" No, stay here. " I replied.

" But sir, today your driver didn't even come. Please let me drive and take you to your destination. " He said.

" I will drive. Don't worry. " I replied and entered the elevator. I pressed the button for the parking area and looked at Arjun who looked worried. I didn't say anything and the elevator's door closed. It took me 2 minutes to reach the parking area floor. Once the elevator's door opened I walked towards my car and sat in the driving seat. I ignited the engine and drove towards my destination. I hate my uncle as I feel like he is the reason my parents died. But I never found any evidence against him. So, I closed my mouth and looked at his movement carefully. I am waiting for the day I will find any of his weaknesses and attack him and make him confess all his crimes.

Once I reached the restaurant, I parked my car and entered. There, I saw my uncle's secretary. He is the HOD of the sales department. He wished me well and led me to the private room they booked for us. He opened the door for me and we entered the room. Like Arjun said, my uncle and Mr. Shekhawat who is the HOD of the finance department are waiting for me. Mr. Shekhawat is a person who is loyal to our company. I have seen all the sheets myself and I didn't find any loophole in the finance department. He is one who never took any money from our company except his salary nor did he ever let anyone else take our company's money. That's the reason, I decided to hear them out.

" Good evening, Mr. CEO. " They wished me in unison.

" Good evening, Mr. Shekhawat and Mr. Mehra. Why do you call me here today? " I greeted and asked.

" Please, have a seat. " Mr. Shekhawat stated and I sat on the seat.

" Varun, look as you have known me since your birth. So, I will be very frank with you. We called you here regarding two topics. First, as you know our company has other branches in other countries now. You need to be promoted from CEO to President and give your position to someone else. It's up to you who you want to choose as a CEO but our company needs a president and a new CEO. " He said and I looked at him. But he didn't flinch at my harsh stare.

" Alright! I will think about it. " I replied.

" Good, Second, Mr. Knight, CEO of Knight Enterprises wants to do a partnership with us. But he has a condition. He wants you to marry his daughter Ashley. " he stated.

" I heard a rumor that he is sick and wants to marry his daughter to someone who can handle his business. " I stated.

" Yes. His company is one of the good companies. You can grow in other branches and it will benefit our company. " He said, and I nodded.

" You- " Before I could say anything I got cut off by my phone. I looked at my phone and saw Vikas was calling.

" Excuse me! " I said and picked up the call immediately and went to a corner to talk.

" Hello! " I said.

" Hello! Bhai, I am sorry. I know it was all my fault. But I am scared please come here as soon as possible. " He stated and before he could say anything, I interrupted him.

" What happened? " I asked.

" Preeti, she fell on her stomach. I took her to the Apollo hospital. But the doctor said her situation is critical and she is losing blood. Bhai please come, we need you. " He confessed and I was shocked to hear about it.

No! I can't lose my only family. I need to be with her as soon as possible.

I cut the call and ran towards my car. I didn't see anyone and ran.

Once I reached it, I sat in the driving seat and ignited the engine. I took a swift turn and accelerated the car. At that moment, I didn't care about anyone. Luckily I didn't see many cars in my way. So, I increased my speed. Suddenly, I saw a girl running towards the way of my car. My car speed is so high that I know I will do the accident of this girl. When I pressed the brakes, I saw a girl around 21 push that girl away to take her position. I saw that girl bump on my car and roll on my car. I took a turn but it took my car to fully stop about 30 seconds. Once my car stopped, I looked towards that girl and saw a truck run towards her. The truck driver tried to take a turn but still, truck tires rolled over her legs. Her scream could make any strict man cry. Even tears fell from my eyes when I realized what happened because of my irrational decision.

Luckily my mind came back and I called for the ambulance immediately. After giving the information, I came out of my car and ran towards her. I saw many people running towards her. I saw a couple hugging that little girl. Then, they ran towards that girl. I pushed everyone away and saw her form. Many people turned their eyes away from her condition. Her legs looked horrible. A large amount of blood is coming out from her legs. I am sure this girl lost her legs because of my mistake.

She fell unconscious.

" Hey! Open your eyes! Please! Wake up! " I said while patting her face. I saw her phone. I picked it up and saw her mother was calling. But her broken screen didn't let me pick up her mother's call. My bad luck is her mother's number is not showing on her phone's screen. I put her phone in my pocket and heard the ambulance's siren. The ambulance backdoor opened the a nurse and two male staff came out and picked her up immediately. I picked up her bag and sat in the ambulance with the staff.

I opened her bag and took out her wallet. I saw her Aadhar card, PAN Card, and Voter ID Card. I looked at them carefully and read her name.

She is Nandini Verma. She was born on 14 Feb ****. It means she is 21 years old. Her father's name is Late Manan Verma and her Mother's name is Radhika Verma. I saw the number on her Aadhar Card. I tried to find my luck and called that number. But I heard the ringtone of her phone. We reached Apollo Hospital and the staff took her out. I knew I needed to go to my sister. But I can't leave this girl behind. So, I ran with the staff. The doctor came and I explained everything.

" Alright! We need to do her operation as soon as possible. What's your relationship with her? " He asked.

" I am her husband. " I stated, and he nodded.

" Please finish all the formalities and sign the consent form for the operation. " He stated and left in the emergency room where the staff stopped me to enter. One male staff took me to the reception to complete all the procedures. I did all the procedures. Luckily I have a photogenic memory. So, I don't need to look at her cards again to fill in all her personal information.

Once all the formalities were finished, I took a deep breath. I closed my eyes but Nandini's innocent face showed in front of my eyes. I opened my eyes immediately and took a deep breath.

Nothing will happen to her, Varun. Don't worry.
