CHAPTER 10

Annabeth's POV Everyone's attention shifted to me, which only made me more excited for what was about to happen. When she reached my spot, she waved right in my face and widened that irritating smile even more. I hadn't even managed to speak when she suddenly grabbed my arm and dragged me toward where the royalties were standing. Her grip was tight—deliberately meant to hurt me. But it didn't affect me. I wasn't Annika anymore—the one they could easily hurt. That pain meant nothing to me. Even if her nails dug into my skin, I didn't care. I was Annabeth—the serial killer of the normal world. I'm not gonna lose here. 'Who does she think she is, putting her filthy hands on my new body?' I grabbed the hand gripping my arm, forcing her to stop. Despite how tight her hold was, I easily removed it and took hold of her arm instead—my grip far tighter than hers. The pain was clearly visible on her face. She really thought she could hurt me. "Hi, Lean... long time no see. I missed you so much," I said in a mocking tone. "What—" she whispered in disbelief, clearly stunned by my fake friendliness. "Oh? What's with that face, dear Lean? Aren't you happy to see me? You were the one who told me to enter the University—so I did. Happy?" I remembered clearly when she told Annika to enroll here just so the bullying would get worse. Annika never noticed the vicious smile on Lean's face—she was too dense, too naive. Lean remained shocked and furious. She still couldn't speak, so I pressed harder on her arm—until she finally screamed in pain. "A-ahhh! Get—get off me!" she cried, but I ignored her. The more she struggled, the more it hurt. At that moment, I wanted nothing more than to break her bones. I wanted to hear them break. I don't care if she die—because that was exactly what I intended to do. Forget what I said earlier about control. It's hard to control yourself when your enemy is right in front of you. But in a single instant, I was suddenly sent flying into a tree, far from where they were standing. My head and back slammed into it, and I wasn't surprised when blood started dripping from my head. What surprised me was that I felt no pain—just like in my previous life, when I was still Annabeth. I stood up and walked back toward them. I felt something warm over my wounds, and they healed instantly. Even the blood stains disappeared. Hmmm... is this one of your powers, Annika? My god... you're so interesting. What else can you do? Third Person's POV Everyone was shocked by Princess Lean's scream—especially the royalties. They thought she was just joking around, indulging Annika's behavior. But this was different. Lean's face had gone pale—a clear sign that she was in real pain. Her siblings, Luciana and Lumino, immediately rushed toward them. When they saw Annika's face up close, they froze. Her eyes were icy—cold enough to send chills down their spines—but her lips were curved into a wide grin. They could even hear her quiet laughter. Lean screamed again, and without hesitation, Lumino shoved Annika away from his sister, sending her flying. If he had used his full power, she would've flown even farther—but the school restricted the use of abilities. Lean collapsed onto the ground, and they rushed to her side. The other royalties quickly gathered around, checking on her condition. Luciana and Lumino felt their hearts shatter when they saw Lean's arm—darkened, bruised, and bleeding. It looked as if her entire arm, hand included, had been crushed. Luciana stood up angrily and turned toward Annika, who was already walking back toward them. What shocked them was how Annika's injuries were slowly disappearing. "How the f*ck did she do that?!" Dianne exclaimed, but no one answered—not even them. That only irritated her more. "Hello?! I'm asking—" "Shut up, Dianne. We don't know either, okay?!" Josiah snapped in frustration. Dianne rolled her eyes and stayed quiet. Their attention returned to the front. Luciana marched toward Annika, furious. One hand clenched into a fist while the other rose into the air. The royalties stiffened—they knew what she was about to do. And they were right. A blade made of crystalized water formed in Luciana's hand. "I will kill you, btch! I will fcking kill you!!" Luciana screamed, looking crazy, her voice echoing across the school like a madman. Annika's only response was a laugh. "Oh? You're angry already? Doesn't look like it," she said, amusement dripping from her voice—mixed with coldness, irritation, and mockery. Luciana charged at her. Annika ran forward too. "Stop them," Drex ordered calmly. The others looked at him in confusion. "Why? Luciana can handle Annika—" "Drex is right. Something's wrong," Dionne added. But the others ignored them . Deep down, Drex and Dionne felt it too—something was wrong. They couldn't explain it. Was it pity? Anger? Grief? They don't know. The only thing they want at the moment was to stop Luciana. When the two collided, Luciana attacked first. Unable to use her full power, she relied on the blade. She aimed for Annika's stomach—but Annika moved faster, elbowing her instead. Luciana didn't fall, but when she turned around, Annika slapped her with full force. Luciana collapsed. The blade fell from her hand—and Annika picked it up. Annika straddled her and with his right hand, she slapped her again. And again. Luciana cried. 'What's happening to me?! I'm not this weak!' It was true—Annika was draining her energy. "W-what did you do to m—" PAK! Another slap. Then another. And another. Annika laughed. "Remember this position, Luciana? This is exactly what you did to me back then!" "The only difference is—you didn't have a blade. And now I do." She glanced at the weapon in her hand. "You're weak, you know that? You're useless without your powers! You swing a blade like that for years and you still don't know how to use it!" Another slap. Luciana didn't know where to look anymore. Her face hurt. Her body hurt. She was weakening fast. "What if all of you royalties die? Who's going to protect your world then? Huh? Maybe I will—but I will never do that. This world never did anything good for me anyway!" Another slap. Luciana stared at Annika's face—burning with rage. Her eyes were cold and empty. But tears were dripping nonstop. "I—I..." Luciana began, then screamed, "I regret not killing you!" That was it. Annika raised the blade—about to plunge it into Luciana's heart—when a hand stopped her. She looked up and saw Caleb, furious. "Don't you dare!!" He shoved her away. Annika flew back again, though not as far this time. Her head cooled slightly. She almost killed Luciana. She shook her head, as if telling herself that killing Luciana now will ruin her plan. Well, she wanted to kill her, skin her alive—but it wasn't time yet. Hurting them, proving she could no longer be trampled on, was enough for now. Laughing, she walked past the royalties. She tapped Lumino on the shoulder. "Sorry about that. But really—it's your siblings' fault." Then she walked away. Annika turned her back with a victorious smile. ' this feeling again. It's nice. so fcking wonderful.'
