Two souls were never meant to share a single fate, yet destiny bound them together long before their first breath. One was shaped by light—gentle, kind, and fleeting. The other was forged in darkness, fed by grief, betrayal, and a hunger that refused to be silenced. But goodness is fragile. In a world that devours the pure, it does not survive for long. And when the “good” soul is taken too soon—snuffed out before their purpose could bloom—it leaves behind not peace, but a wound.A deep, festering wound. From that emptiness, the other awakens. Not divided anymore. Not restrained. Whole… in the most terrifying way. A soul that remembers love, yet resents it. One that could have been saved—but chose the abyss instead.Madness follows.Grief twists into wrath, and memory becomes poison. No longer seeking justice or redemption, they crave ruin—not for power, but to prove that nothing pure was ever meant to exist. That everything good was always destined to be destroyed.Dark magic answers that desire. It coils through their veins like a living curse, bending to their will, reshaping reality itself. Kingdoms fall. Prayers are silenced. Hope is corrupted until it no longer resembles anything human. And the world begins to break. As cities crumble into ruin and the echoes of the lost fade into nothingness, only one truth remains, lingering in the shadows they leave behind:The most terrifying monsters are not born evil. They are created—when everything worth loving is taken from them.

PROLOGUE - CHAPTER 1
Annabeth Buena was never a normal girl—not even as a child. Her mother abandoned her after discovering she was the product of r**e, leaving her in the care of her father... the very man who violated her hundreds of times. She never experienced a real childhood, nor did she ever step inside a classroom. Instead of learning how to read books, she learned how to use guns and knives to survive. Despite being uneducated, Annabeth was exceptional. Brilliant. Dangerous. Even she didn't know where her intelligence came from. She was the living definition of a genius—using her extraordinary mind and unnatural strength to kill anyone who stood in her way. She took orders from random syndicates, exchanging lives for money, because killing was the only way she knew how to eat and live. But during one mission, she was betrayed and killed. She thought that was the end. When she opened her eyes again, everything was wrong. Her body was smaller. Her voice was squeaky. Weak. Fragile. How could a 25-year-old merciless killer be reincarnated as an 18-year-old lifetime princess? Annabeth and Annika were nothing alike. Annabeth was smart, strong, and ruthless. Annika was... Annika—clumsy, naïve, and always willing to sacrifice herself for others. What happens when a psychopath wakes up in a world full of miracles? And what will she do when she realizes this new life is far from innocent? CHAPTER 1 The sound of blooddripping from Annabeth's head was the only thing that could be heard as she walked toward her victim. She had taken a heavy blow to the head, but she ignored it—because if she failed to kill this man, the two million paid by her client would be wasted. When she reached the victim's position, she saw fear etched clearly on his face, and she knew she would erase that soon enough with her blade. She squatted so they were at eye level and grabbed his jaw. The man couldn't move, frozen in fear. "I haven't even hurt you yet and you're already scared. What more if—" she stopped mid-sentence when he spat on her face and shouted angrily. "You b***h! I thought you were on our side—" SLAP She slapped him as hard as she could and wiped her face with her sleeve. She then looked at the man and pointed her grinning blade at him. "You know, killing you was supposed to be simple—but you spat on me! Now suffer, damn it!" she stabbed him in the arm. The man struggled violently, but she showed no mercy; she was far stronger than him. He screamed and screamed until— "Ha... ha... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" He laughed like a madman, as if he wasn't feeling any pain at all, as if he had completely lost his mind. The woman was confused, but she soon joined his laughter. 'You're still laughing? Let's see if you can still laugh after what I'm about to do.' She was about to slit his throat when she froze at his next words. "D-do you really think they're on your side? H-HAHAHAHA, i***t! THEY'RE TRAITORS JUST LIKE YOU!" As if that was the cue, an arrow suddenly pierced her neck. She thought that was it—but the attacks kept coming. Chest, head, neck again, stomach, leg, and arm. It was a miracle she was still conscious in that condition. She no longer moved, yet her mind remained awake, silently enduring the pain. At the corner of her vision, she saw men carrying... hammers. They approached her with grins and, without hesitation, began beating her relentlessly. 'It hurts... it hurts so much,' she cried out in her mind. As if that was the signal for her to finally sleep. Her eyelids grew heavy, and darkness slowly swallowed her whole. Before her life completely faded, she whispered her final words in her thoughts— 'At last... it's finally over.' CHAPTER 1 Annabeth POV "When will she wake up?" "I don't know. I don't really care." "You're so cruel. She's always been nice to us." "Yeah, but I never told her to be nice to us." "I don't know about you, Matilda. It's not even her fault—" I suddenly jolted awake because of the voices I was hearing, but when I did, my whole body ached painfully, followed by a piercing scream. "The princess!" "Call the king!" I was still enduring the pain, yet I couldn't help but feel confused about what was happening. My mind quickly processed the memories of what happened before I... died. "That's right. I died. But why—" "Annika, my child!" I turned toward the door of the enormous room, and a woman came rushing toward me, followed by six people wearing... "What the—ha?! What... AHHHHHH!" I screamed the moment I heard my own voice. 'Damn it, why does my voice sound like a little girl?! What... what is happening?!' The people around me were startled by my screaming. The woman who called me Annika stepped closer, trying to calm me down, but— "Annika, my child, calm down—" "Who the hell are you?!" I asked angrily when she grabbed my shoulders. The lady stepped back, shock clearly written on her face. "How disrespectful! How dare you talk to our mother like that?!" a woman snapped angrily, one of those who had just entered. I turned to her and shot her a cold glare, making her flinch. What, is this her first time seeing a death glare? Pathetic. "And who are are you?" I asked irritably. Her face flushed with anger and she was about to answer, but the others stopped her. Hah, so she does know how to stay quiet. "M-My child... why don't you recognize us?" the woman asked worriedly as she approached me again, causing me to move back. "Me? Your child? Ha. Last time I checked, I don't have a mother. And besides, I don't even know you," I replied. Sadness appeared on her face. A man walked up to her and pulled her into an embrace. I grimaced at the sight. "Call the doctor. Now," the man ordered authoritatively while holding her. "Dad, you know her. She just wants attention. This is probably just one of her ga—" "Now, Caleb." "Fine..." He shot me a glare before closing his eyes and muttering something under his breath. I stared at them blankly. What is happening? Why... why am I alive? Was everything just a nightmare? Why is everything so confusing? Who are these people, and why do they act like some kind of royal family? I tried to stand up, but immediately fell back down when I felt how heavy my legs were. I looked at them and froze—they were unnaturally pale and smooth. I widened my eyes as I looked at my hands and—s**t, they were pale, smooth, and small. "Where's the bathroom?" I asked, ignoring their confused stares. They pointed to a large door, and I went inside despite the difficulty. When I looked at the mirror— Once again... "AHHHHHHHH!" I kept screaming until darkness swallowed me whole. I thought I had lost consciousness, but suddenly images appeared in my mind—an entire lifetime, as if I were seeing someone else's memories. It felt like hours before they finally disappeared. I woke up still standing in front of the mirror. I stared straight into my eyes. Still the same—lifeless. But these eyes weren't mine. This life belonged to Annika Delacroix, and I had just seen who she was and what she had been through. Why was I brought back to life if it would only be like this? A smile slowly formed on my face as I looked at my reflection. What she went through was painful, but what I endured was far worse. I didn't want to live anymore, yet at the same time, I did. "Annika," I whispered to the mirror, and my smile widened as I remembered the cruel things they had done to her. Annika... you and I are now one. I may not want to believe it, but fairytales do come true—and we were unfortunate enough to experience such a cruel one. Let me give you some life, Annika. I will live this new life to the fullest... and I will make sure they regret killing you. That was my final thought as I walked out of the bathroom with a twisted smile.
