CHAPTER 14

1109 Words
Annabeth's POV A week has passed since I arrived at the university, and I can honestly say that I'm enjoying it. First, because of the scenery—and second, because of the people. I love watching everyone talk about what happened the day before. As for the royalties? I haven't seen them even once since the incident at the café. It's as if they're avoiding me. Haha, why would they avoid me? Are they scared that I might actually destroy them? Psh. Cowards. Throughout that week, Natasha constantly talked to me about school and about how much she hated every single one of the royalties. I like that side of her—we both hate the same circle of friends. But sadly, I'll have to get rid of her one day. Once I'm done using her, I can throw her away. I hate being close to people. And lately, Natasha has been getting more and more clingy—something I absolutely despise. She's like a leech, always sticking to me, never knowing when to back off. We're in the school garden now. There's no one else around, so she's confident no one can hear her. "That's exactly it—Caleb is so selfish! All he ever thinks about is Luciana, Luciana, Luciana! Duh, as if they even suit each other! And Luciana is so annoying—whenever there are boys around, she immediately seeks attention. Such a slut!" she ranted angrily, making me laugh out loud. "You really hate them that much?" I asked. "Tell me, Tasha... what did they do to you?" She suddenly stopped moving, clearly caught off guard by my question. For all the terrible things she's said about the royalties, she never once mentioned what they actually did to her. Really... what could they have done to make her this angry? "Uhm... I—I don't know..." she muttered. "Hmm?" "Y-you first," she quickly changed the topic. "Why do you hate them so much?" My face darkened at her response. At that moment, I wanted to kill her right then and there. I hate it when someone avoids my question and throws it back at me instead. If you're asked something, answer it. "W-Why? Oii, friend... w-why do you look like that?" she asked nervously when she noticed my expression. I immediately softened my face and smiled at her. Damn it. That woman is lucky she's still alive. "It's nothing," I said calmly. "They're always at our palace, and they used to make fun of me. They gave me false hope, deceived me... and then tried to kill me." Her eyes widened in shock. "Huh?! They did that to you?!" "Yes. Isn't the way they treat me an obvious indication that they bully me a lot?" I asked, calmly. But deep inside, my anger was boiling as memories of the cruel things they did to Annika resurfaced. " Well...yeah—" "I need to pee, Natasha. I'll just go to the restroom," I interrupted, standing up without waiting for her reply. "Come back quickly!" she shouted as I walked away. I waved at her without turning around. As if. Who are you for me to come back to? I was about to head to the bronze building when I stopped upon seeing a familiar figure. She was walking toward the restroom, rummaging through her bag. I smirked and followed her. Didn't I tell you that if I find you, you're dead? I muttered while staring at her back. She entered the restroom without noticing my presence, so I went in after her. My irritation only grew as I remembered how she pushed me on the field. Damn her. Did she really think she'd get away with that? Ha. There was no one else inside—just the two of us. I slammed the restroom door shut and locked it. She jumped in surprise and turned to face me. I expected fear, but instead, she merely raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing here?" she asked sharply. I smiled sweetly and walked toward the sink where she was standing. I noticed her stepping back, and that only fueled my desire to kill her even more. "What? Isn't this a restroom? Am I not allowed to be here?" I replied innocently. Her eyebrow rose even higher— and she snapped, "Of course you're not! I don't want to share this place with someone like you!" Her audacity only made me step closer. "Someone like me?" I asked, my smile grew wider. She kept retreating, and fear was now clearly visible in her eyes. Yes... be afraid. "Y-Yes! Someone who's not even respected! You are nothing compar-" Before she could even finish her sentence, without hesitation, I grabbed her hair and smashed her head against the tiled sink. She tried to scream in pain, but I immediately covered her mouth. "Aren't you aware..." I started with a grin, leaning closer. "..that you're just another useless piece of trash in this university? Do you know that the moment you were born, you're meant to suffer?" She cried in terror. Just cry. Don't worry—this will be over soon. "W-Why... are y—" "W-w-why... what?" I mocked her, giving her my widest grin before continuing, " Look at you...pathetic. " I whispered. Then she started screaming wildly. Alright. That's enough. Before she knew it, I slammed her head hard against the mirror. Shards of glass fell to the floor. I picked one up and, without hesitation, stabbed it into her cheek. Her screams echoed in agony. But I wasn't done. I forced her onto the floor and stabbed her neck—then her face—until she stopped breathing. I stood up and dragged her into one of the cubicles. I shoved her head into the toilet bowl and stomped it repeatedly until the water turned red. I closed the lid and admired her beautiful state with a smile. "There... it doesn't hurt anymore, does it? I told you this would be over soon." I stepped out of the cubicle and looked at the mirror—and to my surprise, there wasn't a single trace of blood on me. It was as if my body had absorbed all of it. Just like what happened in the field during my fight with Luciana... and in the cafeteria. Smiling, I closed my eyes—and when I opened them, I was already back in my dorm. Haha. Amazing. This is only the third time I've used this ability since arriving at the university. Good thing Annika isn't completely powerless after all... because without this, my revenge would never be possible.
