CHAPTER 2

900 Words
Annabeth/Annika POV "Are you okay now, anak?" Queen Ciara—Annika's mother—asked me worriedly. (Anak - Child) I smiled at her widely and moved closer to the bed to sit down. I hugged my knees to my chest and observed Annika's entire family—the family that would now become mine. 'HAHAHAHA, what a joke. Family? I don't even know what a family is supposed to do.' "Why are you grinning?!" one of Annika's siblings—Dianne—asked irritably. "Huh? Am I smiling?" I widened my grin even more just to annoy her. And to be honest, I really do have a creepy smile—sometimes even I get scared of myself. I used to give this kind of smile to people I wanted to play with, to those I wanted to suffer. When I was still Annabeth, I toyed with my victims by frightening them first. And now... let me do what I usually do. "S-stop it!" she said nervously, but I only chuckled softly and turned to look at my MOTHER. "Mom, I'm hungry," I said. Her eyes widened and she immediately ordered the maids to prepare food for me. She sat beside me and gently touched my cheeks. I wanted to cringe, but I stopped myself. She's Annika's MOM, and based on Annika's memories, her mother loved her deeply, so I had nothing against her. "Do you remember us now, anak?" she asked happily. I nodded and subtly pulled my hand away from hers. "Hmm. I just felt dizzy earlier, that's why I wasn't myself. But I'm BACK." I emphasized the last word and glanced at my siblings. "What? And if you're back, does that change anything? You're still you. Pathetic famewhore," Dionne—Dianne's twin—said with a grin. MOMMY scolded her, but she ignored it and marched out with my other siblings. 'Famewhore, huh? Pathetic Annika.' "I'm so sorry, anak. If I didn't force you to come out of your room... you wouldn't have been hurt. I—I'm sorry," she apologized through tears. Something hit me hard. A sharp pain pierced my chest, as if my heart was being crushed by the sight of her cryng. I shouldn't be feeling this, but after all... this is still Annika's body. Their blood bond will always remain. I mentally rolled my eyes. "Not your fault. I'm just... stupid," I blurted out. Yeah... Annika, you're so stupid. How could you be that foolish? You really fell for those people? You thought they genuinely wanted to be your friends? After all the beatings they gave you, you still assumed they cared? Ha! You really are pathetic, Annika. But don't worry—even if everything you did was annoying and irritating, I'll make sure they suffer and feel pain far worse than yours. Just wait. I'll avenge you. We stayed there for a while longer before she let me rest. Annika's FATHER also excused himself as well. Hmmm. Annika s his daughter, yet he keeps neglecting her. He couldn't even look me straight in the eyes earlier. He's ashamed of Annika. Then I remembered what I went through at the hands of my real father. My fists clenched and I grabbed my abdomen. My face went emotionless as I forced myself to calm down. He deserved to die along with his friends. They did something horrible to me, and I don't regret killing them. My father... he is the root of all my madness. As I reminisced about my past, something inside me snapped and I suddenly started giggling... which turned into laughter, until it finally became tears. My past life was hell. Now, my life still sucks—but I will do everything to control what I can. Things will change, and that change will bring misery to the entire royalty. 'How...exciting.' I woke up again because of knocking on my door. I sat up and looked to see who it was. The corner of my lips lifted immediately when I saw my five new siblings. The twin girls Dionne and Dianne, Caleb—the second among us, Josiah—the fifth, and Drex—the eldest. All of them were staring at me coldly, all carrying resentment. I smiled widely. "And why have my dearest siblings come to visi—ackk!" In an instant, Caleb was in front of me, grabbing my neck, chocking me. It didn't really hurt— but I was just caught off guard. My grin widened even more, causing him to tighten his grip. "What the hell happened back there, huh? Luciana is furious at me because of you! What did you do?!" he shouted. I laughed and recalled what Annika once said to his girlfriend. ***** "You loser! I can't believe you're Caleb's sister! I can't even believe you are one of us! My God, how can someone so shameful and powerless like you be a royalty? Were you adopted?!" "I—I also can't believe someone like you managed to fool C-Caleb!" Annika courageously fired back at Luciana. The woman frowned. "What do you mean?" Annika didn't answer, which only angered Luciana further. "What are you trying to sa—" "You're being played." ***** Well...Annika's right then? Luciana's stupid and foolish to even believe her words. Maybe it's not so bad that I'm in her body after all. She's a liar—and so am I.
