Danny’s use of “we” caught Craig off guard. He wasn’t sure if Danny meant those in the police force or his aunt and uncle. But he didn’t really want to ask him what he meant.
Seeming to notice the tension his request was creating, Danny changed the subject. “Anyway, once you meet Emma, you’ll want to keep me in good standing and all. She’s really awesome.”
“So, Emma is this mystical, everyday girl who’s captured your heart, huh?”
“Yep!” Danny’s eyes lit up. “Craig, she’ll blow you away. She’s beautiful and funny . . . and smart!”
“You’re saying this won’t be one we have to sound out the menu selections for?” Craig chuckled.
Danny rolled his eyes and shook his head. “Dude, you’re killing me. Just you wait and see. What about tomorrow night? If you don’t have plans, let’s do Santori’s.”
