Episode 1 - Out of Breath
It was Monday morning, I just woke up and when I checked the time, I realised that I might be late for work. I sprinted off the bed and went to get ready. I grabbed a granola bar and pushed the door behind me.
Now, it was time to catch a taxi. I hope this won’t take long. From a distance, I could see a yellow bright car coming this way. I hold a hand out to show the driver to stop.
“Bastard, you did not stop!! What am I going to do now?! I need to go to work.”, I said to myself.
“If you want I can drop you off to work.”, an unfamiliar person behind me. I turned to see who was talking behind me and I found myself staring at a brunette woman, similar to my age.
“Yes, I would love to. I work at the FAA firm at Gheneb Street, Imriehel. Do you know where it is? It is only an hour away.”, I said “What is your name? My name is Gina.”, she added.
“My name is Nina. I know where the firm is. I work nearby and I recognised you since I have seen you a couple of times catching a taxi.”, Nina said.
“Oh really? I have never seen you but I might not have paid enough attention.”, I said to Nina.
“I think it is better if we leave now. That one is my car.” Nina said and pointed to a white car parked a few steps aways.
We started to walk to the car. She unlocked the car and I got in the passenger seat. Nina started to drive the car to the destination and we started to chat.
“So, what do you do in the FAA firm? Are you a lawyer?” Nina asked.
“No, I work as an assistant for the boss.” I said. “Where do you work and what is your job?” I asked.
“I am an assistant just like you. I work in a small business, Poppino- the bakery.” , Nina said.
“That’s great! I would like to say thank you for the ride. You saved me from being late. My boss will be very angry if he does not get his first coffee at 8:30am sharp”, I said.
“Do not worry, we will be there in fifteen to twenty minutes more.”, Nina said.
I was relieved to hear that I will be on time. I really hate being late to work. The rest of the journey was spent talking to each other until we arrived. I ran to my desk, put down my bag and went to the small kitchen. After a few minutes, the coffee was done and I went to put it on the boss's table.
