Chapter 4: Feelings.

Emma sat in front of so many servants while sweating underneath her feet, she had never faced so many people before, the imperial physician had already treated the first consort and he was sitting together with the other consorts who were sitting beside her.
She cleared her throat and stood up, ‘’I don’t have much to say, but listen all of you, the imperial consort were all handpicked by yours truly, any insult to them is an insult to yours truly, treat them all equally, or else…….’’ she turned and walked towards the first consort, she bent and grabbed his hand and then pulled him towards her room .
“Why didn’t you fight back?’’ she was holding the hand of her first consort, not letting go. She couldn’t see the uncomfortable look on his face, ‘’Answer me! In the novel you were strong and didn’t endure any bullying. Why are you enduring something like this?’’ Emma had always loved and cheered for Winston in the novel, she wished for nothing. Expect that he would meet the female lead and be with her like in the novel, so before that, she wouldn’t accept any scratch on his body.
“I’m sorry.’’

‘’Ahhh, seriously, you are really cute.’’ Emma let go of him and turned around, ''Go then, have a good rest and don't let them bully you anymore, you are a royal now and you deserve to be respected, before you became a royal, you were the grand duke and you still are, just don't let them bully you, i don't want to see any scratches on your body again.'' As she was saying all these, her hands were shaking, behaving like an empress seems to be an hardwork.
"Yes.'' Winston bowed and left the room.
Immediately Winston left the room, Emma fell and held her chest which was pounding fast, "Woah, that was so close, how can a human being be so handsome? I almost couldn't hold in my drool.'' she held up her hand that just held Winston's and took a lick, ''Yup, i am a pervert.'' She giggled and closed her eyes, day dreaming about the face she just saw.

My life has always been boring, doing paperwork every day without no stop has been my daily routine, until the day an invitation was sent from the palace. The girl who killed her parents and became an empress sent a wedding proposal to the dukedom household, and the empress didn't give me any chance to reject the proposal. I found it more interesting than any other things. I decided to go to the palace to see the person who became the empress and reject her immediately, but my plan didn't work, because I fell in love at first sight.
So i married the empress and became her first consort. On our first night, she didn't spend the night with me. I felt like someone took thousand needles and pinned it inside my heart. This feeling was new and foreign, doing the paper work inside the palace became soemthing i despise. The first time the empress was forced to have dinner with me, she was scared of my eyes, in fact she loathed my eyes, so i stopped wishing. Two weeks later, she married another consort, so I comforted her.
I barged inside her office and saw the paperwork on the table. When I looked up, i saw the eyes of the woman i fell in love with, covered with dark circles, she looked like she hadn't slept for a long time, but i didn't think of anything else, but the reason i came to her, "Why?'' i questioned.
"Why what?'' she questioned back, her voice sounded hoarse and i felt strange, ''You sent a marriage proposal because you fell min love with me, but now you are marrying someone else without discussing it with me first!'' i yelled, not minding the people that were looking at us, she signaled everyone to leave and when she turned back to me, she seemed angry, ''I didn't.'' she replied.
''What?''
"I didn't fall in love with you, Grand duke Winston Anderton. I married you to save myself and my kingdom. Don't flatter yourself. i won't ever fall in love with a demon like you, your eyes are what i despise.'' She walked towards the door and opened it, then walked out without looking back. The next day, she married another consort and another and another. She married four other consorts and we became the five treasures of the empire.
The first time i was bullied, i thought that would anger the empress, so i let it slide, but it became constant and when the empress saw that, she turned her face elsewhere and walked away, leaving the servants laughing. My room was changed to a shabby place. I let it slide not because i'm weak, but i was too lazy to deal with anything, and my heart was broken.
My daily routine became the same inside the palace, till one day, the empress was found drowning. I couldn't finish what i was doing. I had to rush towards the direction of her room and there i met the consorts I had always hated. The consorts were actually not the kind of people that bully people, they actually respected me as the first consort, but i hated them, they took my wife away from me.
We were waiting for the empress when the door opened. She came out and was smiling at the other consorts. Of course, i made myself invisible by pretending i wasn't there, but she started walking close to me. I took a step back hiding my eyes. She had always hated it
"Hi.''
'Hi? She just said hi to me?' i didn't know what to say. I was just shocked and when i tried opening my mouth to say something nothing seemed to come out, ''I'm fine, thank you for worrying.'' she smiled again and walked away. My heart pounded, the other consorts came to me.
''First consort, our wife......she seemed to have changed.''
'Indeed,'I thought.
I was about to leave for my shabby room, but was surrounded by the servants who always bullied me. I was slapped and beaten, ''You became a consort that wasn't loved.'' one of them said, ''Hahaha, although he became the first consort, he is still living like a peasant.'' another one said I almost stood up to kill them, but i heard the empress voice.
"What the hell is going on?''
''What the f**k did you guys do to my man?''
''Your imperial highness, we were just helping the first consort.''
I was pulled up, ''Come.'' the empress dragged me to her room, "sit down, i will be back.'' she instructed and left. Twenty minutes later, the imperial physician came and treated me. The empress called every servant. When I walked inside my room, shadow, my secret body guard, was waiting for me, "Shadow, my wife seems to have changed, hahahaha life will be interesting from now on, don't you agree?'' Shadow looked at his master who was laughing like a mad man, but he couldn't say anything.
