A massive dragon attacked the outskirts of town.

A siren went off, “Attention. All adventurers please proceed to the gate, I repeat all adventurers please proceed to the gate.” A woman said which sounded she like the clerk at the guild in the speakers all over town.

More and more adventurers arrived. They charged right in to attack the dragon invading the town. I looked back and saw Diana was missing, then I heard her scream, she was already charging in with her sword, shouting “Crescent Strike!” Her sword shined like the moon itself.

She attacked the dragon and strafed backwards, it looks like she damaged it, and also all the other adventurers are lending a helping hand to defeat this beast.

I can’t just stand here, I must help them too. I search for my spellbook in my pockets, I open it and read through the pages, I only used fireball but all the pages in my spellbook are empty, the only spells I have is fireball and icicle? I learned icicle when I leveled up to level three in the last fight with the dire wolves but I just noticed it now. My body shined a faint white when we defeated the wolves, but I thought it was nothing.

Icicle

-   offensive spell

-   deals 20-35 damage to monsters

-   costs 7 mana per use

-   fires a small ice shard at a target

-   creates several ice shards on impact

-   has a 10% chance to freeze enemies hit

This seems like a single target spell, perfect. Icicle! I shot out an ice shard from the palm of my hand, it hit impact with the dragon! And it even did more damage with the extra ice shards. But all the other pages in the spellbook are blank.

Even though, the dragon is still on a rampage. I continued on to shoot out multiple fireballs with everything I could. All the adventurers were doing their best to defeat the vicious beast. Warriors swinging their swords, mages casting out different kinds of spells, healers supporting the front line, bards buffing up the adventurers and thieves weakening the dragon.

While I was continuing to attack the dragon, the dragon shot out flames from its mouth, scorching the land of where it hit. Making the adventurers flee. I got hit by the impact of the attack and was knocked back along with the other adventurers.

I got hurt a little, and couldn’t move my legs that well. That’s what I get for not getting enough exercise in the real world, sigh. However, even though I was unable to move an inch, I still continued to fire out fireballs and icicles from where I am standing.

After a short while of attacks from the adventurers, the dragon grew weaker and weaker, Shane and Diana were doing their best to help defeat the dragon. Then suddenly, the dragon roared in despair, causing sound waves that even the largest of mountains tremble.

The adventurers and I continued to take down the dragon. It released a series of attacks from breathing fire from its nose, stomping the ground to cause an earthquake, and slammed the walls with its tail. However, it seems like the dragon is finally about to wear down after a few moments of fighting it.

“Look! The dragon’s getting weak!” A voice in the distance shouted.

“Alright everyone, go on all out!” The clerk said coming from her megaphone.

As the adventurers were about to charge right in, the dragon shined a bright purple light. Leaving every one of us blinded.

“s**t, I can’t see what’s going on anymore.” I said.

As I open my eyes, my eyesight isn’t clear and then I saw a pretty girl in battle armor which looks like the scales of the dragon just now, she was floating down from where the dragon mysteriously shined. Tan skin, purple hair, scales, and what seems to look like ribbons from the back of her body. Where did she come from? Where did the dragon go? Did the dragon transform into that beauty?!

She landed swiftly, but a rush of strong winds swept the ground of where she landed.

“Hello adventurers, It is I, Dazel.” She introduced herself quite frankly. Then I heard someone talk about who this Dazel is.

It was the guild clerk, she said “Dazel? You mean the Demon Lord Dazel?” I looked at her and she was shivering. Just who is this Dazel anyways?

“I was bored so I sought for a nearby town to wreak havoc and satisfy my boredom, but you are all stubborn and started resisting, I just want to destroy stuff!” Dazel said and then she pouted.

Wait? Is what the clerk said true? Is this a demon lord? With this attitude how can this be a demon lord? I hear demon lord are more… evil and dark? But this one’s just bored.

“Um, Dazel?” I shouted so that she can hear while waving my hand at her?

“Sh-Shane, what are you doing?” The clerk tried to stop me but Dazel already noticed me, she was confused at first then she flew to where I was.

“Hmm, what do we have here? What do you need? Human?”

“Not to be rude, but are you really a demon lord?”

“Shane!” The clerk tapped me in the shoulder.

“Me? Well yes, why do you ask? Do I not look like one to you human?”

“It’s not like that, um.” I grinned at her, not knowing what to add up.

“Huh? After that dragon attack and that bright light causing you all to go blind, you still don’t believe I’m the real deal?” She threatened me with a dark flame coming from her palm, she’s ready to kill me! She really must be a demon lord!

“I get it, I get it! You really are a demon lord! I believe you!” I panicked quite a bit, no, I panicked a lot.

“Haha! Just like I thought you are scared of me.”

After that, the demon lord Dazel sniffed me. “Wh-What are you doing to me?”

“Hmm, you seem to have a lot potential, I sense a ton of magic power oozing right off you, you are more stronger compared to those weaklings.” She pointed at the unconscious adventurers lying down. “It seems my Daze didn’t affect you too much, I’ll be watching you, boy.”

By a flick of her fingers the adventurers were then conscious, she winked at me and flew away. “What was your name human?”

“Sh-Shane…”

“Alright Shane, see you soon, when I finally plan to destroy this town.” She said with a confident smile. She then flew off into the distance.

Phew, that was rough, a dragon, and a demon lord.

“Shane, are you alright?” The clerk asked me.

“I’m fine, but what was that?”

“Dazel, one of the six dragons of chaos, and a demon lord.”

“Wait, there are more of her?!”

“Well, yes, but no. There are six dragons of chaos but she is the only one who is a demon lord among them, she is the strongest and destructive dragon out there.”

“But what is with her attitude?”

“That’s what makes her destructive, she doesn’t care about anything around her and will destroy everything, we were lucky we didn’t get annihilated.”

“Why didn’t she destroy the town if she wanted to?”

“I don’t know Shane, she doesn’t leave any towns she’s ravaged undestroyed.”

After a while, all the adventurers were all conscious and begin questioning one another. Diana rushed over to me.

“How are you Shane? Are you alright?”

“I’m alright Diana, how about you?”

“I’m okay, I was quite blinded by the light from earlier, what was that anyway?”

I can’t tell her? Can I? “I don’t really, but the dragon disappeared for some reason.”

“Yeah, atleast the town is safe.” Then I nodded back to her.

I was starting to get a little dizzy, is this from my fatigue? I don’t know. I feel weird, it’s as if I’m… I’m gonna… faint... I heard a slight giggle before I was gonna faint…What is happening to me?

“Shane?” Diana shouted.

“Shane! Shane!”

My eyesight is getting dark, my body isn’t responding to my movements anymore. Just before I realized it, I have already been unconscious.
