Chapter Nine

Liz's POV

    I woke up to a smiling, singing dad in my room. I laughed and looked at him.

    "Happy Birthday Lizzie stinky Happy birthday to you" I laughed and shook my head. He placed a tray with some breakfast.

    "Oh man dad can I get this everyday, thank you?" I said eager to eat what he had made. He chuckled and shook his head.

    "Not a chance pumpkin but happy birthday, I'd say kiddo but you're officially an adult!" I smiled.

    "But I'll always be your little girl right?" he smiled and it looked like he wanted to cry as he hugged me tightly.

    "Oh course you'll always be my little girl" He cleared his throat and some emotional tears. Holding a small box. I smiled and looked at him.

    "What's this?" I asked as I took the box.

    "It was your mother's every since I can remember she would always wear it. I thought that maybe you'd like to have it. A small part of her to wear everyday." I smiled as tears filled my eyes and nodded. It was a gold necklace shaped like a moon with a small red stone. 

    "Thank you so much dad. I love it" I said.

    "I thought you would pumpkin, also I'm throwing you a party and don't say no I already invited all of your friends through Kate. You need to stop being so anti social." My eyes widened as I looked at my dad.

    "Just not Tyler or Valerie right?" I asked.

    "Oh no Kate made sure to invite only people you like." I smiled, I couldn't say no to my dad now that he was back to being himself. I showered and did a little extra makeup than usual but nothing too crazy. I kept my hair down with it's natural curls. I put on some black ripped skinny jeans with a white crop top and a jean jacket. I put on some white shoes and to top it off I put on my mothers necklace. I was about to head down to my Jeep when Kate burst through the door with a million balloons

    "Happy birthday b***h!" She screamed and tackled me to the floor. I laughed and groaned.

    "Thank you, ouch Kate you're squeezing me too hard." 

    "Sorry! Okay let's go to school! I'm driving you. No exceptions what's so over" Kate exclaimed. I raised and eyebrow and looked at her. 

    "Right. Okay, I better not get attention at school or anything of that sort." I said. Kate smirked and nodded.

    "Of course not!" She said. We got to school and I looked around and noticed that Tony or any of his friends weren't here.  

    "Hmm Kate where's your boyfriend Matt?" I asked suspiciously. She laughed nervously. 

    "I have no idea, now lets get to class. You know how the teacher is." 

    Once in class, we all sat in our assigned seats. Tony wasn't in class today. I sighed, maybe he forgot my birthday? It's okay I mean its not like we're anything. I just got out of a relationship so, it's fine. I looked down at my notebook writing some notes when the teacher stopped talking. I looked up and found all of Tony's friends coming in one by one handing me a rose each. There was like twenty of them. Each saying happy birthday handing me either a red or pink rose. 

    "Happy birthday" Carlos said to me smirking. As I was now bright red I smiled and nodded.

    "Happy birthday little Liz" Matt said chuckling. I shook my head and glared.

    "Tell Tony he's dead." I said laughing.

    "Oh good, because he's not anywhere near done" He said walking away giving Kate a kiss before they all left. The whole class than started saying happy birthday. I glared at Kate and she winked.  I now had about two dozen roses in my hands. The bell rang and we headed out to my locker. Kate handed me a vase and I put the flowers there. I turned around to look at  my locker. It was decorated top to bottom with bows and glitter. 

    "Oh come on Kate, I said no attention" I whined. She smiled.

    "Shut up, you know you like it, like you like Tony" She sang in a teasing way. I smiled and rolled my eyes.    

    "I didn't say anything" I smirked and walked away to my next class. As I was getting my text books out Nikki came in with a giant teddy bear. 

    "Happy birthday!" she screamed. I smiled and looked at her shaking my head.

    "Thank you Nikki." She handed me the teddy bear and sat down handing me a Vitoria secret bag.

    "Bear is from my brother and the gift bag is from me" She said. 

    "Talking about your brother. Where is he?" I asked. 

    "I don't know" was all she said. The rest of the morning went by pretty fast. Nothing crazy happened. Yet. I was walking to my locker to drop off my texts books when I saw Tyler looking from the distance. I looked the other way wanting nothing more to do with him. He has been texting and calling me nonstop I had to get a new phone number. He even made a big scene on Monday demanding I take him back. If it wasn't for Tony I'm sure I would have physically fought him. He kept getting in my face and crying. I saw there was a note on my locker that said :  Lunch? I'll be in the patio waiting. 

    I smiled and rolled my eyes. Oh boy here we go I thought to myself. I couldn't find Kate or Nikki. It was weird since we always had lunch together. I made my way to the outside tables where I found Tony in the center by a table. I laughed and shook my head. He was wearing dress pants and a dress shirt. He had the table set up as a candle light dinner. Although it wasn't dinner but some Wendy's spicy chicken nuggets surrounded by some rose petals and some candles with a small birthday cake. I laughed as I looked at the set up. He smiled wide and gave me a tight hug.

    "Happy birthday Elizabeth" I smiled and hugged him back burying my face in his chest.    

    "I thought we were clear on the something sweet and simple? And not embarrassing. "I said. He chuckled

    "Oh no I must have heard wrong. I thought you said extra embarrassing" 

    "How did you know this was my favorite?" I asked. 

    "I might have gotten the info from Kate" He confessed I smiled and rolled my eyes. We sat down and started eating. Before I knew it some of Tony's friends along with mine came over and started singing Happy Birthday. I blushed so hard I hid my face. Tony laughed loudly clearly enjoying my embarrassment. I blew out the candle on the cake. We all enjoyed some cake. After the bell rang and Tony helped me up.

    "So what do you say if we go and get that ice cream you wanted?" Tony smiled.

    "But school isn't over" I said. He grinned and nodded.

    "Oh I know, they call it ditching Liz" I laughed 

    "Oh okay so goody two shoes Tony wants to ditch"

    "Only if it's with you." I smiled and nodded. 

    "Than let's go get some ice cream" Tony had brought his Tahoe to school, he helped me load every gift I had received into his car. We arrived into a small ice cream place. I had never been in here before. They seemed to be local and had homemade ice cream. I smiled widely. I got a scoop of caramel vanilla and he got some strawberry. We didn't sit inside. He grabbed a blanket from his back seat and we made our way into a park near by. We sat down eating our ice cream.

    "So why the red and pink roses?" I asked

    "Well red means love, passion, and respect. Pink means Beauty, appreciation. And Liz you make me feel all of the above." I blushed and looked away hiding my face. He chuckled 

    "Well thank you for putting so much thought into my birthday and making it special." I said still looking away. I don't know why but I felt as if I looked at him, I wouldn't be able to stop. I felt his hand go onto my cheek turning me to face him. 

    "Don't hide your face, I want to be able to see that beautiful face of yours." He whispered sweetly. I smiled and looked into his eyes, than into his lips. I bit my own as I thought or more like I didn't think. I didn't care and didn't want to wait any longer. I needed to kiss him. I started leaning in, he looked shocked but I didn't care. He grabbed my head with both hands and he gently pulled me into his lips. I instantly felt sparks once our lips touched. His lips tasted sweet from the ice cream. I smiled into the kiss. He kissed me slowly and soft, yet there was so much passion behind it. He slowly pulled away smiling. Putting his forehead against mine. 

    "Happy birthday Liz" He said I giggled and nodded.  "What happened to taking it slow?"  I smiled and shrugged.

    "There's just something about you Tony, you make me do crazy things." I said, he smirked and pulled me onto his lap, I wrapped my legs around his waist. "Now kiss me again." I said leaning back into him.

    We kissed for the rest of our time at the park. I would have never thought I'd move on this quick, but Tony made me completely forget my problems. All I knew is that I wanted to be close to him and never leave.

    Once we arrived to my house, there was already cars on the drive way. I looked to Tony and he looked really nervous.

    "You okay?" I asked. He nodded.

    "Yes it's just, your dad scares me" He confessed. I looked at him and laughed.

    "Are you serious? You haven't even met him! He's the biggest sweetheart I promise" I said and he looked at me and shook his head.   

    "I met him already Liz. When we were planning your birthday party with Kate. He told me he had guns and that if I ever did anything funny he'd hunt me down. He also said he's a black belt." I looked at him, I couldn't believe my dad. I also couldn't help but laugh.

    "Tony he's kidding. He just hated Tyler, also you're taller than him and probably stronger. So I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. Huh it's funny he realized I was crushing on you before I did" I smirked confessing for the first time that I like him. "I'll see you inside!" I said getting out the car.

    Once inside, I gasped. They had decorated everything in purple and white. My dad hired my favorite restaurant to cater which made me extremely excited. Kate and Nikki pulled me into my room. Kate got me a a birthday outfit which consisted of a black long sleeve turtle neck with a white tight skirt with a slit down the side. Topping it off with some black boots. Once we walked downstairs I noticed Tony and Matt talking to my dad. I can tell dad was trying to put on the tough act.

    The party was about to end when I got a text from Tony.

    Tony: I have one last surprise for you cutie, mind meeting me  by the red van?

    I smiled and snuck out the party to the front lawn. I looked around and finally found a red van. I raised and eyebrow confused. This van looked pretty beat up and old. Tony never drove cars like that. I was about to walk back inside when someone put something over my head. I screamed and kicked. But they lifted me up and threw me into a car.
