Once our pack was one of the largest pack of the land. Red Cape name was enough to intimidate evry wolf. We were not vicious or brutal but we were fair. Shine… Shine could be considered as everything but strong. We were trying to exist, hiding and fearing all the time. I had just five warriors including me. Our population was almost 50 wolves, most of them were elders, farmers, women and pups. I had to figure it out how to survive. I was responsible for them.
“It is over Zeke. I sent the tracers and the nearest hunter scent is 50 miles from territory also keeps fading they said.” Mickey whispered me. We were in the shelters for one week. When hunters found some rouges close to our territory they expanded the hunt time for 2 more days. At last we were safe until next hunt.
“It will never be over Mickey. We spared ourselves for this time that’s all.” I told him with pain. We all were tired. It was really hard to hold our wolves back during the blue moon. We had to inject some wolfsbane to Mickey’s new arrivals.
“How’s your guys doing?” I asked Mickey.
“They’ll be fine in time.” He sighed. I saw Avery was taking people out one by one. She escorted all of them to their homes. I thought that her parents should be Alphas because she is more Alpha than me at that time.
“Tim mind linked me that he is two hours away. He also said he has Alpha’s letter.” Mickey said.
“Good.” I just said.
I was sitting on my wooden chair in my office. We called here office but it was much more like a pawn shop. Everything was broken and old just as our pack. I heard the knock on my door.
“Come in!” I yelled. The door was opened and I saw Tim, the messenger.
“Here is your letter Zeke, I hope we will have some good news at last.” He said.
“Thank you Timmy. I hope so. “ I answered and he left my office. I rushed to open the envelope. I hold the letter and read. One sentence was there.
“You’re welcomed by me and my pack. J.” So far so good I thought to myself.
“Avery, we will hit the road when the sun is down. “ I mind linked my gamma.
“Yes Alpha.” was her only answer.
“No weapons, no warriors just you and me is that clear?” I added.
“Crystal clear Alpha.” She was direct and certain. She was like a huge tree to lean on. I was thankful to Moon God for I have them. Without Mickey and Avery I would be lost.
Next hours passed by wind and it was time to go.
“Mickey pack is on you. I think one week will be enough for me.” I would tell him what I have to tell and ask about my parents, actually about my mother, his sister. I was told everything about my father by Luke. But he didn’t know much about my mother. I was hoping that Jev can enlight me about her.
“No worries Alpha. I will enjoy your wooden chair while you are away. Yeyy lucky me!” he grinned and I smiled back.
“Ave, ready?” I asked her. She nodded.
“Ok then, let’s get this show on the road.” I said and shifted to my wolf. A moment later Avery was behind me with her wolf shape. Then we started to run our way to the mighty Breeze Pack territory. We were going to run for almost five days. And I would be thinking of my questions to the Jev all through the way.
