Soft Duvet

1743 Words
“Because I want you to teach me how to fish,” I excitedly exclaimed as I limped towards him and took the duvet out of his hand. Well, he’s not moving, and I want to sit in the duvet already! Oh… the nostalgic feeling. I remember me and my parents having a picnic in our garden at home. Our lawn is the perfect picnic place. Well, we go to other places too, but my mom prefers us doing picnics and other gatherings in our own place because it’s safer. She’s a little bit protective. And our garden’s not really bad, but instead it’s one of the best! We even have our own man-made pond with koi fish in there, a bridge and even gazebos. I mean my mother likes landscaping and stuff. She just loves art. So, I guess that’s the reason why our entire mansion is so pleasing to the eye. And not a lot of people get the chance to enter or even look at our mansion! There’s no point in remembering our mansion because, I’ve got to be honest, this view is nowhere near bad. And the fresh air? The best! So, calming and that’s mainly the reason why I felt sleepy. Ugh! Now I’m feeling sleepy again. I finished arranging the duvet and, wow, he didn’t even help as he was just standing there like an i***t! And did you hear what I’ve said? I arranged the duvet! I’m so good at this! I sat on the duvet and motioned for him to sit beside me. What is he waiting for? A rainbow? The f**k? “Come on!” I thought he would just stay there forever, but at last he found the will to walk and sit beside me. “Don’t you have extra fishing gear?” I asked curiously as he pulled the strings of the fishing pole. I just find it confusing, as well as, how can he have a fishing pole and no other things which are essential as well? Did the monster who banished him here play a game and chose what he'd give Trevor randomly? So crazy. “I have. It’s in the mansion. Are you serious about learning how to fish?” he asked with his raised brow like he was in such disbelief at what I had just said. “Yes! Is there something wrong with that?” I exclaimed, raising my brow. Is he belittling me? Excuse me, I don’t know about these survival things but I’m a very fast learner! How dare this tree? “No,” he smirked. What the hell is that? He said no but he was smirking at me. “Stop smirking!” I exclaimed as I punched his arm. Well, too bad for him because he’s so near that I could literally grab his hair! And take note! He has such a long one that I could probably hurt him for real! “I’m not,” he said, but I can still very much see his smirk! “You’re annoying,” I exclaimed, crossing my arm, and pouting like a stupid duck. I saw him glancing at me through my side eye, but I couldn’t help but continue pouting like a baby! Ugh! “I was just shocked that you’re willing to learn something.” “What?! Is that an insult?!” “No! no!” he immediately moved away from me when I acted like I was going to punch him in the face. Well, I could probably punch him for real if he keeps on annoying me! And I swear I feel like I could punch really hard right now. “Are you sure?” I asked as I raised my brow while my clenched fist was still in the air just waiting for him to mess up. “You said you were rich.” “Yeah, obviously. What’s it got to do with that in fishing?” “You said you’re a princess, so I was surprised that you wanted to learn to fish.” “Well, it’s just for contingency purposes,” I exclaimed as I lowered my fist and looked ahead at the river again. “Contingency?” “Yeah, contingency. You don’t know what that means?” I asked, mocking him. “I’m not dumb,” he exclaimed with such a straight face and tone that made me burst out laughing once again. “But what do you really mean?” he asked again. Wow, he’s becoming more talkative now, huh? And he’s becoming curious about me too! I mean what I think and stuff. “Just in case you die,” I exclaimed so casually, but I couldn't hide my smirk when I rendered him speechless. “What?!” I covered my ears when he suddenly shouted. “Why the f**k are you shouting?!” I exclaimed but I couldn’t help but be shocked once again because he f*****g shouted! “You shouted! At me!” I excitedly exclaimed and then here he is again, with changing his expression in a split second. So secretive! “What did you say again?” and now he’s back to being calm! Ugh! Am I crazy about wanting to hear him shout again? It’s just so different when his nerves are showing in his neck, kidding! “I said that learning to fish is a contingency plan just in case you die,” I explained with the straightest face I could muster. I’m good at this, you know! It’s just becoming harder for him because he’s so hilarious sometimes. I mean his expressions and everything. He’s like an innocent child but sometimes just pure dumb too! Thank God he’s not hearing any of my thoughts! If people were able to read and hear what I’m thinking, half of the country’s population would have hated me already, I mean not that they don't now. But still. I just have a lot of cruel things in my brain. People think I’m already straightforward and bitchy when I speak, but what they don’t know is that I’m much more evil with the words I choose not to speak. Huh! They deserve it anyway! Most of them are annoying and eat stupidity every day for breakfast. “So, you’re thinking of me dying?” he asked again. “Sometimes.” “Really?” “Yes. But to make you feel better, I’m also thinking of dying. I mean we can’t possibly know, right? We’re alone on this island and if that’s not scary enough, my kidnappers might even come back to finally kill me or something,” I exclaimed, sighing deeply. “I told you they wouldn’t be coming here again,” he exclaimed, and when I glanced at him, I saw him creasing his forehead. He has such a hard expression on his face that I think he might be mad or something. But what is he mad for? Oh, maybe because he thinks I’m not listening to him. “Yeah, you did. And, believe it or not, I appreciate it so much, but I can’t help but think of other possible things to happen and I will die, or you die.” “Like what?” he asked curiously. “A wild animal who lives in this forest might find its way into the mansion and decide to eat us in our sleep,” I exclaimed, shivering. Oh god, this is the effect of watching too many movies! I remember one movie where almost all the cast was eaten by crocodiles when they went to a lake or something! “That’s possible--” “What?!” Now I can’t help but be too short as well. “What? You said it yourself so I’m just seconding you,” he explained, so casually, like he’s not talking about our lives, that I wanted to strangle him so badly. “Well, yes. But hearing it from you makes it ten times scarier, you i***t!” “Maybe if you let me finish, you’d relax a little,” he exclaimed, arching his brows again. He has that mocking expression in his face that I want to erase so much. “Fine, are we dying because of some stupid animal?” “That’s possible, but I’ve been here months before you and I haven’t been attacked by any sort of animal.” “So?” “The chances are low?” “Why are you asking me?” he looked with his wide eyes, which I answered by raising my eyebrows. “Why don’t you just sleep?” he exclaimed as he tapped the space behind us. “But I said I wanted to learn how to fish!” “Yeah, just in case I die?” he was chuckling when he spoke. “Yes! If some animals kill you before I do,” I gritted my teeth. “Why don’t you just sleep for a while and I’ll just teach you when you wake up,” he suggested. “Well,” I exclaimed, putting my hand below my chin, acting like I was thinking hard about it. “That doesn’t sound bad. Fine!” I exclaimed. “Lay down--” I felt him stiffen when I used his leg as a pillow. Well, this is more comfortable! And I can’t sleep without a pillow! In my room, I have about ten pillows in different sizes. That’s just how I am. His legs are folded with his knees on his chest so there’s a tight space, but I’ll get what I can! I thought he was going to argue more, but I smiled when I felt him stretching his legs. I laid my back on the duvet as I stared at him staring at me. His other hand on his back for support. “Thank you--” I wasn’t able to finish my sentence when I yawned. Omg yawned, meaning I opened my mouth so big while he’s staring at me! Ugh! So, embarrassing! “Sleep.” “I’m going to! Stop staring at me,” just as I said that, he immediately averted his face and looked ahead. And I almost hit myself when I felt disappointed that he really did what I told him. Ugh! “Sleep Camille Louella,” he must have felt that I wasn’t asleep yet since I kept on moving. “Fine, Trevor Helios.” “Sleep tight.”
