Big Rock

Big Rock “Don’t sleep.” I immediately opened my closed eyes when I heard his annoying voice for the nth time! “I’m not sleeping, I’m just closing my eyes because I don’t want to see your ugly face,” I smirk, trying to annoy him, even though I know deep in my soul how incredibly attractive he looks. But of course, I’m not going to say that out loud! I know better than to embarrass myself. Oh, really Camille Louella? I heard my subconscious with her bitchy tone. “Ugh!” I couldn’t help but kick and punch the air. It’s so frustrating because, instead of thinking about real important things, I’m here debating with myself how attractive Trevor Helios is. Crazy! “What are you doing?” he asked while raising his brow at me. He was once again sitting on the ground, a fishing rod on the river while I was sitting on the big rock just beside him. I love this! Not him! the rock! Okay? The rock? Because it’s big…. I mean it’s just so comfortable sitting here. And the big tree behind us is perfect for giving shade as protection from the harsh sunlight. “Nothing that concerns you,” I exclaimed, turning my body sideways, so I wouldn’t see him. I folded my knees and rested my head on top so I could finally close my eyes in peace. But of course, Trevor ‘the tree’ Helios wouldn’t know how to stop talking when I needed him to! “Why don’t you just go inside the mansion?” I felt him touch my shoulder, which made me flinch. “Sorry,” he exclaimed, noticing how startled I was. “It’s okay.” “Why don’t you go inside the mansion?” he repeated his question. “I don’t want to,” I exclaimed, ignoring him. “Wouldn’t you be more comfortable there?” “No,” I stubbornly answered. Why is he so persistent? I couldn't help but look at him when I heard him sigh. He looked troubled and I was waiting for him to speak, but I guess he had no words to say anymore. “What?” I arched my brow. “Why are you so stubborn?” he exclaimed with his hands on his waist, which made him look like such an old man. Well, he’s old. I guess? “How old are you?” I suddenly became curious, which made me sit properly while facing him, who looked more confused than ever. What? Is there something wrong with asking? I’m genuinely curious, because what if he’s so old already? Well, he doesn’t look old, but he’s so serious that I feel like he’s already a hundred and two or something. “What?” he asked with a creased forehead. What? Can’t he understand such a simple question? “What?” “Are you that sleepy?” “What?” I was confused as well. Why do we talk like this? Like really, it’s so confusing that it makes me think like I’m getting dumber every day! “I ask you a question first,” he said, arching his brow at me. The sexy brow, there it is again. “What question?” I feigned ignorance and I couldn’t help but laugh out loud when I heard his loud groan. This ass! “You’re so stubborn,” he exclaimed as he stepped closer to where I was sitting. “That’s not a question,” I continued, annoying him because, for some reason, I just really had fun making fun of him. He's so… laughable? Yeah, that’s the word. Laughable. Oh my god, can’t you see how laughable, and Trevor does not even fit in a sentence? So, freaking off! “Camille Louella, whatever your surname is,” he exclaimed with such a straight face that I couldn’t help but laugh again. “What, Trevor Helios the tree?” I mocked him back. Who said this b***h isn’t clapping back, huh? “Just sleep inside the mansion,” he once again insisted, which, of course, I still won’t agree with. I like disagreeing! Actually, I love disagreeing on everything, unless it’s in my favor, of course! “I don’t want to,” I insisted as well, while pouting. Ugh! Stop pouting you b***h! “Why?” he asked as he stepped closer towards me again. “I don’t want to be alone,” I answered truthfully. I mean, aside from the fact that his room has no windows and no freaking aircon, I also don’t want to be left alone because I don’t want to remember what happened. I feel like if I’m alone, I’ll be in danger again. I mean assuming that I’m safe with Trevor, but I really feel like he’s safe. I’m sure he’s safe. Hopefully. But he’s still better than those ugly kidnappers who I wanted to kill the moment I saw them again! When I looked up at him, I noticed how his expression softened. Or is that only my imagination because he was instantly back in his poker face? But how about the shine in his eyes? What’s that all about? “I’ll go with you,” I was startled by what he said and by his deep voice. “U-Uhm…” the f**k? Why am I stuttering? Oh, this is because I’m sleepy and I could’ve slept if he just let me! But instead, he’s here again talking to me when I don’t want to! Really? You don’t want to? Ugh! Shut up your subconscious b***h! “Uhm…. How about the fishing?” I was finally able to complete my sentence while motioning to his fishing gear near the river? Well, I want to sleep but I also want fish! I mean its food, duh? And I genuinely don’t want us to run out of meat because of my massive appetite. It feels like it should just be eaten on special occasions! But didn’t he say he’d hunt again if you ran out of meat? Yes, he said that but…. but isn’t that dangerous? Oh, are you worried? No! well…. Yes, because as I’ve said, who would prepare my food and all that s**t if he dies, right? I’d die too if he dies! Literally! Oh… maybe I ought to learn all this stuff? Right? Just in case? “I can do it later.” “But I want to stay here.” “Why? It’s obvious you’re sleepy.” “Okay fine! I am sleepy--” “Explains the mood swings,” he interrupted me. He f*****g interrupted me? What the freaking f**k? “How dare you interrupt me?!” I couldn’t help but raise my voice… and that’s the problem. I was raising my voice, but I wasn’t feeling any hate or irritation! Ugh! You really are frustrating Camille Louella. “You’re sleepy, so let’s go inside the mansion.” “You’re changing the subject,” I couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. “And when did you become so talkative?” “And now you have turned silent again, my bad,” I exclaimed while tapping my lips, because I forgot that mentioning his actions would make him stop doing them! Such a serious ass. “Camille Louella.” “What?” “Let’s go inside the mansion.” “Why are you so keen on making me sleep? Are you planning something, huh?” “I just don’t want you cranky.’ “Cranky?! How dare you?” “Just go inside.” “But the scenery here is more relaxing! And your room is so small I feel like I’d be suffocated there. Aren’t you?” and then I almost hit myself again when I saw the change in his expression. It felt like it became sullen all of a sudden. Me and my stupid mouth! He wasn’t speaking and he was just looking at the ground that I had to do something to take his mind off of anything I made him remember. “Can I sleep here instead? You know? You do have some spare sheets, right?” I exclaimed cheerfully as I stood up, still not using my injured foot. He immediately went to me just to make me sit on the rock again. “What? I’ll sleep here,” I exclaimed, still smiling like an i***t. “Stop smiling like that, you look creepy,” I was startled when he smirked. Oh, now he’s not upset, huh? He’s even making fun of me when I just wanted to take his mind off of ugly things and memories? This jerk! “You’re creepy,” I exclaimed as I pushed him aside and limped so I could get the sheets. “Ah!” I think the whole forest heard my shriek when he suddenly carried me like a f*****g sack of rice and made me sit on the rock again. “What?!” I couldn’t help but hit his arm. “Wait here,” he exclaimed as he turned his back to me. Well, that’s one of the reasons why I feel safe when it comes to him. He's just kind…. even when he’s so annoying sometimes. I mean most of the time. But he’s just really this gentleman who I don’t really see in real life but only in novels I read and movies I watch. He’s just so surreal. Yeah, that’s the word. Surreal. I mean look at that face and body! A lot of men would say it’s unfair. He said wait, so I waited. And he didn’t even take that long as he lay down a thick gray duvet under the tree behind the rock. “Not there!” I immediately stopped him. “Here,” I pointed at the space beside him where he was fishing. Well, I said I want to learn, right? “Why there?”
