Arched Brow

Arched Brow “Careful.” My heart dropped. I mean literally! Just imagine if I fell into the water and I hit some rocks, that would give me a scar for sure! And that would be a nightmare! I mean I’m on a freaking island and if there’s no tissue paper here, there’s no way there’s a dermatologist who would magically show up for my skin problems! “Are you finished?” he asked as he continued holding my waist. My back is on his chest and he’s so tall that his chin is on my head. “Finish with what?” I asked as I looked up to see his face. He was looking down at me and for some reason I wasn’t annoyed. I mean I hate people looking down at me! I’m not someone you could look down on! But well, maybe because he saved me from a scar? Maybe. “Drinking water.” “Yeah,” I almost screamed when he suddenly carried me again. “Can you give me a warning first?” I asked him as I raised my brow. Of course, he refused to look at me and just continued walking. “I mean a simple ‘I’ll carry you again Camille’ would suffice!” I continued ranting as I wrapped my arms around his neck. I accidentally smelled him. Yes, accidentally! I can't ask my nose to suddenly lose its sense of smell, can I? He smelled nice. And that’s one of the highest compliments I give to people. Yes, it’s not even if you're handsome or you're beautiful, or even if you're rich and all that stuff. When I say that you smell good, I really mean it. Like my mom and dad, they just smell like family, they smell comforting and whenever I smell them and they’re near me, I feel safe. But Trevor…. He just smelled so masculine. Like musk…. Very manly. And he has such a nice figure. He was just wearing a simple white t-shirt and rugged pants, but I could easily see how ripped he was. And his face…... Well, let’s just say that if this island is populated, more than half the girls, no matter what age, would want to ravish him even just once. I mean you can just stare at him, and you’d feel satisfied. Especially his eyes. But they’re expressionless. Still, he looked absolutely like a Greek god. His hair. How can they be that shiny? I’d bet my Chanel handbag that they’re soft too. I swear one of these days, I’ll touch that. It’s tied in a man bun, and I’d never seen someone look good with that kind of hairstyle. I mean, I knew people who tried sporting the same style, but they just look…... gross. Yeah, like they don’t take baths or something. But Trevor…. well, my description does not do him any justice. “Hey!” I shouted at his face when he did not respond to me again. Ugh! I’m not used to being the one starting any conversations. I mean people want to talk to me and they’d do anything for me to talk to them! It’s never the other way around! “You never run out of things to say. Aren’t you tired of speaking?” he asked as he looked at me. My eyes bulged as he raised his eyebrows like he was mocking me. Well, if he’s mocking you Camille, you should be irritated! But why do you find him hot with that eyebrow raising?! Ugh! He’s been doing a lot of first things with me already, huh? The first one is not responding to me despite me trying to start a conversation with him. First to carry me like this, except for my dad, of course, and now, first to mock me! No one does that! “Aren’t you tired of NOT speaking?” I countered as I raised my brow at him. He just smirked and looked ahead. Wait. He smirked! Did he just smirk? Did he just change his expression? “Did you just smirk?” I asked, amazed and almost laughing as I stared at him. He looked at me with his confused eyes. Confused?! Omg. “What?” he asked as his forehead creased. His forehead f*****g creased! Why the f**k am I enjoying the change in his expressions? I can treat it as my achievement, can’t I? “You smirked!” I beamed almost enthusiastically. I don’t know. It's just fun seeing his blank face changed into emotions I never imagined him to have. He’s like a blank canvas and every expression gives color to him. Little by little, I’m seeing a glimpse of his personality. “So?” and there he is with his eyebrows raised again! I mean how can he look hot doing that? My gay friends do that a lot and they look fine because they’re gay. But he’s a man and he’s doing it in a freaking sexy way! “You never do that?” “You know me one day and you’re already acting like you knew me half your life.” “Isn't that weird though?” I was seriously thinking how weird our situation is. “I feel like I’ve known you half my life,” I added. “What do you mean?” he asked as he bent down to get the basket with the fish inside on the ground. I don’t know how he did it, but he didn’t even need to put me down. I guess he just really has strong arms. “It’s weird because I’m usually not the friendly type.” “I figured,” he nonchalantly said, which made me turn my head towards his face. “What do you mean by that Trevor Helios?” I asked as I arched my brow. “I figured that you were not the friendly type.” “And how did you figure that out?” I couldn't help but ask him question after question because he was talking. He’s answering my questions, which is weird! “You’re just……” he hesitated, which made me arch my brow even higher. You better speak the right words, Trevor Helios. He looked at me briefly and immediately averted his eyes. Oh, was he scared because I was looking at him murderously? Well, he should! “You’re just….” “Just what?!” I couldn't help but raise my voice and move a bit because he was making me so anxious about what he was going to say. “Just say it before I punch your stupid face.” “You’re just that,” he briefly explained as he nudged his head towards me. “What do you mean by that?” I exclaimed as I arched my brow. “Aren't you smart? Go figure it out Camille Louella,” he exclaimed as he put me down in a wooden chair. We were in the backyard of the big mansion under some sort of a big tree. There’s no roof to cover us, but the big tree is enough to give us shade against the harsh sunlight. Gosh! Is it already time for lunch? And I haven’t eaten anything yet?! “What time is it already?” I asked as I watched him put wood and dried leaves in the middle of three big rocks with sticks at each end. Of course, he was again immersed in his silence and didn’t find the need to answer my well-articulated question. “Oh! I know what you’re doing. I saw that in one of the movies I watched a long time ago,” I started talking hoping he would respond. “That’s how you cook? That’s so ancient and what do you do when it rains?” I asked as I imagined what the backyard would look like if a heavy rain poured. “Stay here,” he suddenly said as he stood up and picked up the fish from the basket. Of course, I’ll stay here. Where do you think I’m going on this island and with this swollen ankle? “Where are you going?” I asked instead of speaking what was on my mind. I’m so hungry and I don’t want to risk angering him. “We were given mouths to speak, you know?” I shouted sarcastically as he continued walking without responding to my question. Minutes later, he came back holding the fish which he impaled on what looked like a metal rod. He placed the rod inside the basket as he pulled out a lighter from his packet. He began lighting the dried leaves and putting them in the middle of the rocks. Minutes later, the woods started to burn. He took the impaled fish from the basket and hung it above the fire using the sticks standing beside the rocks. Just like how they do it in movies. “How about water?” I asked as I began getting thirsty again. Well, I like drinking a lot of water. I guess it’s the secret to this gorgeous skin of mine. “Do we need to get to the falls just to drink water?” I asked incredulously. I mean it’s not that far, but still. What if I get thirsty at night? What? For me to have good skin, would I have to risk getting mauled by wild animals out there? No. Definitely not. I’d never want to die in such a horrendous way. If I die, I need to die beautifully. “There's water inside the house,” he answered shortly as he began fanning the fire using the basket. “Oh, okay,” I said, finally relaxing as I waited for the food to cook.
