Chapter 01 Peace POV Excited yet nervous, the Alpha king Enzo is here to attend my wedding with his mate Victoria. My dream wedding is finally coming to pass tomorrow. He travels all the way from his pack Crescent Moon down to our pack Silver moon, my dad Alpha Lucas together with him were like friends for years. “You should rest up okay?” My mom kissed my cheeks, I nodded back in response and she released my hand. Mark, My fiancé holds my waist as we take the stairs to our room. We got inside the room and I went to change into my nightgown, and pack my gold hair in a bun. It’s going to be a big day tomorrow I thought. We both get on the bed cuddling ready to sleep, My head on his chest and his hand wrapped round my waist. “I can’t help but notice the way Alpha King Enzo cared so much for his mate at the dinner despite the news I heard about him being brutal” I said. “He just met her not long ago after thousands of years searching for a mate.I will do more if it were to be me” Mark replied. He kissed my forehead and I closed my eyes to sleep,like hours later I rolled from one side of the other to get a feel of Mark but was surprised when I couldn’t feel him. I was surprised to feel his own side of the bed gone cold. Where could he have gone? I waited for a few minutes thinking he’s at the restroom but it’s all just too silent. I stretch my arms and yawn using my left palm to cover my mouth and get out of bed,put on my flip flop, check the restroom and the dressing room. He’s nowhere to be found. I wonder where Mark went to, it’s late in the night and tomorrow is our big day. We should get some rest while we can. I can’t be more happy for tomorrow, I’m nervous though because the wedding is already looking so big. Many guests from different packs who are from a long distance are already in the mansion to grace our wedding tomorrow.I wrap my nightwear around my body as the night coldness hits my skin. It’s really cold outside,my eyes scanned through the balcony and he’s still nowhere in sight which makes me feel a little worried. It’s late in the middle of night, my arms wrap around my body as I take the stairs down to the hallway, the trace of blood is what freaked me out at first. My hand went over my chest and my mouth, tracing the blood from the last stairs in the hallway to my dad’s body. “Dad!” I yelled, my slippers flying off my leg as I ran to him. My heart beat skipped a beat and my blood pressure elevated,hot tears streamed down my cheek. Fear gripped me. “Please don’t kill me.” I heard my mom’s voice and rushed to the other stairs that lead to the big living room. My mom on her knees and a sword in Mark’s hand, “mom! Mark!” I called. His eyes met mine and he looked away too quickly, grabbing my mom roughly placing the sword in her neck, “Don’t you dare come closer!” He said without any feeling of shame. “Why are you doing this, Mark, you killed my father?” It’s almost as if I’m seeing things. I slapped my two cheeks that were already wet in tears to wake myself up from this nightmare. “What have you done?!” I heard another voice from behind him, Alpha Enzo’s mate,Victoria. Mark wastes no time in cutting her down from her neck and she falls to the ground with blood coming out of her mouth. “Mark!” I fell to my knees crying out in pain, “why are you doing this !” He killed someone right in front of me. “How am I supposed to be the next alpha if your father is still alive? If you dare say a word of this then your mother will be gone next!” He said and took the kitchen door with the sword still in my mom’s neck. My eyes scan through the hall from my dad to Victoria, How did I not see through Mark? He’s a beast who wants power. My heart shattered into pieces, “Sweetheart!” I heard Alpha King Enzo run towards his mate in terror while I crawl towards my dad. “Guard!!!” Alpha Enzo yelled in his alpha voice. “Check and block all exits !” He ordered. The whole hallway echo, I become numb, unsure of what’s going on around me. I was there beside my dad but I couldn’t hear a word. The guards drag me away from my dad’s corpse, my whole world crumbles right in front of me and I can’t do anything to stop it. “What happened to my mate?!” Alpha Enzo walks up to me asking me about Victoria. “Talk to me what happened to my mate “ he demanded again but I couldn’t say a word. Mark comes out from the other end of the hall newly dressed without blood stains on him. I want to run up to him and ask him about my mother but I can’t even stand up on my own. It’s like my spirit left my body, just because he wants to be Alpha, he killed my dad.Just like every other person he’s started asking me what happened like he has no idea. Pretender! A chameleon!That’s what he is. How could he do this without any feeling, my dad, he killed him, that fact alone keeps hitting my heart repeatedly. My tears became uncontrollable till it blurred my sight and I fell unconscious. “She has to tell us what happened” That voice snapped my eyes open, my eyes met with six other people. “Are you okay?” Mark asked me like he’s truly worried about me. I stared at him for seconds with terror going on in my head. My hand starts trembling and the hairs on my skin stands. Goosebumps hit me, “what happened to my mate” Alpha King Enzo demanded at once. They stared back at me waiting for me to explain to them, Mark held my hand as if reminding me not to say a word. This was supposed to be my wedding day, now is the day that I hated the most and I would never forget. “You all should urge her to say something before I lose my temper, what the hell happened to my mate?” Alpha King Enzo demands even more coldly as if telling me this is the last time he would be asking me that question. My heart beat is beating two times normal, it’s like the air I’m breathing in is choking me. My mother would die at the hand of my beast mate if I told them he’s the one that killed them. Hot tears streamed down my cheek yet I couldn’t form out a word from my mouth. It drops down to my white bedspread and silence follows, “Don’t tell me you really killed your dad just because you want my son to be the Alpha?” Mark’s mother ‘s voice hit my ears like a slap. I shook my head in denial, how could I kill my own father because of that, “please mother don’t say that” Mark said and took my hand into his coming closer to me. I snapped my hand away from his right away, “You can’t have done that right?” He asked and my mouth went wide open. “Guard! Take her to the dungeon!” Alpha King Enzo ordered. T.B.C
