2. Reunion
2 Reunion Jacob woke with a start, his skin tingling as though tickled by a thousand frozen needles. He leaped out of bed, ripping the covers away from the mattress to search for whatever had been biting him, but the mattress was bare. Jacob looked around, itching his arms. The feeling was intense but not painful. Jacob felt a twinge of fear in his chest the instant before Emilia’s shout of “Jacob!” echoed up the stairs. Jacob grabbed his wand and bounded from his room and down the steps to the second floor just in time to hear footsteps pounding down the stairs to the first floor. “Emilia!” Jacob tore after her. When he reached the front door, Emilia stood next to Aunt Iz, both of them staring out at the front gate. “What is it?” Jacob asked. “Someone came through the fortaceria.
