Secrets and Snow
At 10 p.m., a man in black came and turned out the lights. At 10:05, all the boys were crowded back around Jacob’s bed. They had never heard about the exploding dam, the Council of Elders crumbling, MAGI falling apart, or the thousands of concertgoers being turned to dust.
Jacob talked for hours, trying to remember how everything had happened. He stared down at the faint, golden light that gleamed from his palm as he skipped the part of the story where he and Emilia were bound together deep within the tunnels of Graylock.
“We can’t just stay in here,” Lee whispered to the boys. “There is a mass murderer out there who is trying to ruin everything for all of us. If he keeps going, there won’t be a Magickind left for us to join when Dellard finally lets us out of here.
